Welcome to the Traveling Hypnotist podcast. The ultimate destination to elevate your life through the power of travel, modern hypnosis, neuroscience and time tested wellness practices. I'm Nicole Hernandez, the traveling hypnotist, and as a board certified hypnotist, creator of the TTH method, and wellness expert for the Four Seasons Hotel New York downtown, I'm here to guide you on a transformative journey. This podcast features travel inspired hypnosis, real client sessions, belief shifting travel stories, and interviews with experts who are shaping the world of conscious living. All right, it's time to journey within and go beyond. Welcome to the Traveling Hypnotist podcast. I'm your host, Nicole. And today you're in for something special. I have a Halloween sleep hypnosis that's going to transform how you think about the masks that we wear in our lives. And it's going to also act as a nice sweet treat that's going to guide you into that sound slumber tonight. Now, I have to tell you, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. There's something really magical about the simple act of putting on a costume and how that can transform not only how we see ourselves, but how others see us. And it's this incredible time of the year when we give ourselves permission to explore these different aspects of ourselves and who we might become along the way. Now, I remember back in the day, and of course I think I'm aging myself at this point. But for those of you who understand this and experienced it yourself, you get it. Picking out a costume used to be really easy. You would just go to the store and there would be little boxes with a transparent cover and you would see the mask inside. And then underneath the mask there would be a plastic costume. So I remember being everything from a witch to strawberry shortcake to, I think one year was Wonder Woman. And it was just so fun to go in and you could just pull something off the shelf and then have this transformational experience. And I find myself thinking about the scent of that plastic sometimes. And even though I think we all know that there's so much toxicity within that plastic now I remember equating that smell of the plastic to things like trick or treating and to that cooler fall breeze that we start to feel at this time of the year and just kind of the ritual that you have of really just knocking on doors and not really knowing who's going to appear and just hoping to score the best candy in the whole neighborhood, right? Because that's what it was all about. You would look down into your little. Your Jack o'lantern pale and feel either inspired and excited or kind of let down in these moments of these exchanges. And I think unconsciously, and perhaps not even intentionally as we're moving through these moments, we're almost starting to be conditioned at a very young age to pretend to be something else in order to get what we want in life. And again, I don't think this is intentional. I just think it's something that kind of comes with the territory. If you think about it, we're constantly putting on masks in our lives. We have the professional masks that we wear at work, right? I tease my fiance because when I overhear him on conference calls, he sounds so different. He just laughs differently. There's that fake ho, ho, ho. And I don't know if you do that. I'm sure I have done it as well. And then we wear masks with strangers, right? We maybe are a little bit more guarded or maybe we're more social when we meet someone we don't know. And then those times when we are maybe hurting and sometimes we put on the mask of strength or even apathy when we're feeling vulnerable, not to make someone feel like they need to hold our emotions for us. Now, each mask we wear has served some kind of purpose in our lives, and that's important for us to know. And so all these masks that we've been wearing, they have been developed in some way and in some time to protect us and to help us navigate different situations in our lives. Now, today's Halloween sleep hypnosis is really special because it's going to, number one, help discover something powerful. What if those masks weren't just protection, but actually portals to your authentic self? And number two, what if each mask you've worn has actually been teaching you something about who you are? So we're going to use the magic of Halloween and this time when the veil between what is and what could be feels maybe the thinnest. And we're going to use this time to explore the mask that you wear. Now, before we dive in, I just want to let you know that if you're curious about experiencing hypnotherapy for yourself, I do offer personalized online sessions and exclusive in person sessions at the Four Seasons Hotel, New York downtown. There in the spa, typically having sessions on Sundays, but you can certainly contact the spa and they can tell you about my other availability and we can schedule that out for you. So if you want those details, you can find them@thetravelinghypnotist.com and you can find that link in the show notes below. And in this spirit of trick or treating, I have a small request for you. So if these episodes have been a treat for your mind, I'd really appreciate it if you would consider leaving a rating and review. It is the sweetest way to let me know that these free resources are actually helping you. And when you leave a review, it also helps me to help others find their way to this growing community. So I'm going to just thank you in advance and know that if you have benefited from this that you'll take that quick moment for me. Thank you so much. So go ahead and get in bed and turn down or turn off the lights. Go ahead and situate your pillows and your blankets just as you like. And after the hypnosis portion ends, I'm going to have music there for you so that you can just completely let go and drift off into your most restful sleep. All right, when you're ready, let's begin this Halloween journey of transformation together. So take a nice, deep, comfortable breath in and as you exhale, allow your body to settle more comfortably in your bed, just breathing in and out in your own time, in your own way. And notice that with each breath it brings you into a deeper state of calm awareness. And with your eyes closed now, you can begin to relax, becoming more aware of some things than you were before. Maybe the distant sound of children's laughter, maybe the soft hum of the air, the soothing sound of my voice, and the thoughts and the images that drift into the mind like the wisps of fog on an October night. And maybe even now you can imagine a jack o lantern's crooked smile. And you can imagine the sound of the soft flicker of candlelight. Because with the eyes closed, it becomes easier and easier to become more aware of a variety of things that otherwise would go overlooked. Like this simple way the darkness acts as a soft blanket that brings a space of calm peacefulness to you each night, and with it the possibility of imaginative dreams. And in this way you can learn even more than before about your own ability to relax, to let go. And you might think of this ability like a brilliant orange autumn leaf falling off the tree and slowly sailing all the way down to the ground. And the mind begins to flow down and down and down towards that place of quietness and calm awareness just as naturally as night falls on Halloween. And you can and you will drift down now into that place of effortless relaxation, like warm candlelight spreading through the darkness, a place where you can allow events to occur that transform something deep within you, just as Halloween transforms an ordinary night into something more magical. And you might even notice how each gentle exhale carries you deeper and deeper, noticing now how your thoughts can drift like all of those scattered leaves in the gentle autumn breeze, and each one can just float away. As you sink deeper into comfort, and as you continue relaxing, you might become aware of how the seasons change and just how naturally transformation can occur. How easily nature lets go of what is no longer needed, Just as you can now drift deeper and deeper still. And I'd like you to begin to imagine, now that you've stepped back in, a time in your life, a time in perhaps your childhood or your teenage years, a time when you felt most confident in yourself. Maybe a time in your youth when you were expressing your creativity, maybe a time when you had less responsibility. Just take a moment and imagine yourself being that age again. And it's Halloween evening. And on this Halloween evening, the air is crisp and cool, and there's Jack O'LANTERNS glowing warmly from the porches of the homes around you. And you can even hear children laughing in the distance, just excited for this night. And I want you to imagine that you're standing in front of a mirror now, about to go trick or treating. But this is no ordinary Halloween night. No, this is a magical time where masks hold special power. I want you to imagine now that before you is a selection of beautiful masks. And perhaps these masks have been obtained from all different parts of the world through different travels, different experiences. Maybe they've been gifted to you along the way. Or maybe you've traveled somewhere specifically at some time to gather these masks here. And each one of these masks represents different aspects of your ideal self. So take your time exploring them. Maybe there's one that radiates courage, like a legendary hero of some sort. And maybe there's one that's just a little bit more joyful and whimsical, and it sparkles with humor and wit, like your favorite comedian. Maybe there's one that glows with compassion. There's a softness to it, representing maybe those that you've helped along the way, or maybe the compassion that you sometimes show yourself. And yet there's another one here in this collection that shines with creativity. Maybe it has something whimsical. Maybe there's something interesting that comes off the mask. Or maybe it's just a different shape, and it's like the artists who perhaps inspire you in some way. And let there be another mask here in this collection. A mask that represents something you know that perhaps you've been denying yourself for a long time. I wonder what that would be for you. And as you lift each mask, you can feel its unique energy. You can feel that energy move through your hands where you touch the mask, and it moves inside of you now. So the mask of courage, just notice as you pick it up, how it feels. And when you put it on your face, notice how it fits so perfectly. There's a sense now that your posture begins to naturally straighten. And you can notice that your breathing just deepens into this sense of certainty. And you can feel all that confidence flowing through you now. Just notice what that feels like, that mask of courage, that confidence flowing through you. And this feeling, you can notice now that it's already part of you, the mask, it just simply helps you to recognize it. And go ahead and take that mask of courage and put it back with the others. Now try on a different mask. Now take the mask of humor and joy. You can already feel the lightness coming in as you touch it and place it on your face. And as it's there on your face now, you can feel that lightness spread through you. What does that lightness feel like in your body now? And you might remember times that you made others laugh, or that you just really had that deep belly laugh and just felt that joy inside. Just notice how naturally this feeling can come when you let it, when you allow it, because this feeling is also already within you. And go ahead and take that mask of humor now and put it back into the collection. Looking in the mirror now, you can begin to notice something quite fascinating. As you wear each mask, it becomes more transparent. It almost just disappears. Because as you're beginning to discover, these qualities aren't really coming from the masks at all. They're emerging from within you. The mask provide that portal, that permission to simply express what's already there. The courage, the humor, the compassion, the creativity. And whatever other masks are here today. They are all the aspects of your authentic self. So I want you to imagine now, walking through your daily life as it is now, situations where you once felt you needed a mask. Notice how you can access these different qualities naturally. Notice a place in your life where perhaps you had to put on a mask in the past to feel confidence or courage. And just notice what it's like to be in your natural state of confidence and courage in that situation. Where does that show up for you? Notice a place in your life where you can bring in more lightness and humor, maybe in your work. Or maybe in the way that you deal with people finding humor, in the way that people sometimes overreact, or how grown men and women act like children at times. And instead of perhaps in the past, you used to find that so disarming. You can find the humor in it, how this person never actually learned how to become an adult, and so they go back to that childlike way. And you can find that funny now, and it doesn't affect you in the way that it used to. And maybe you find that feeling of acknowledgment for. For yourself, the compassion for yourself in life. Where do you need to acknowledge yourself? Where have you failed to acknowledge yourself for all that you've moved through, for the ways that you are already changing and for the ways that you have changed? Notice where you get that feeling. Notice what that feeling allows for you now, when you acknowledge yourself, when you have compassion for yourself. And what about that feeling of creativity? And what situation in life do you allow yourself to really express that even more? Maybe you found yourself holding back your creativity in some way, your expression. Maybe you stopped drawing or painting or writing, because in our culture and society, we like to think that we have to just do things to make money, but in fact, that creativity is just something that just needs to be expressed. And I wonder what it feels like when you allow yourself to consider bringing that creativity back into your life in different ways. And perhaps there's another feeling for you here, one that you can now access. A feeling of resilience, a feeling of calmness, of serenity, maybe even a feeling of sensuality. Maybe you've been so busy with things that you haven't really taken the time to notice yourself and the passion and the feelings you actually feel. What would happen if you slowed down to feel all of that? And again, just taking a moment to notice the feelings that are already here. No mask required now, just you. Just your authentic self. Just you expressing these wonderful aspects of who you already are. And each time you see Halloween decorations or notice a mask of any kind, or perhaps you're even just looking closer in the mirror at the exact color of your eyes, you can remember this truth, that your ideal self isn't something to wear. It's something to uncover, to allow, to express. And take a nice deep breath in and out, just recognizing all of that that's already inside of you. In a moment, I'll count down from one to five. And with each number, you can allow your awareness to travel all the way back to the present day. On this Halloween night. Feeling the soft shift happening inside of you now, bringing with you all of this deep knowing that you can access these qualities, these feelings at any time. 1. Awareness returning to your body. 2. Feeling softer and just letting go now. 3, A quiet awareness of your authentic strengths growing stronger now. And four, as you drift further down now into sleep, going deeper and deeper. Five, allowing yourself to drift and be and dream, carrying this experience with you. Thank you for joining me. I'm Nicole Hernandez, your host and hypnotist, and you've been listening to the Traveling Hypnotist podcast. Until next time, my friend. Remember, when you journey within, you can go beyond. Good night and Happy Halloween.
