Welcome to home is where the truth is. I'm Mat and I'm Maeve. We've got five kids that we're trying to raise in the ways of the Lord and we want them to understand the truth of our Catholic faith. It's faith and how to defend it.  This is an everyday job. It's a lifelong commitment and it is so important  before they leave our house to go out into today's culture, which is why we've chosen to bubble wrap our kids or I mean homeschool.

So whether you already homeschool or perhaps you're praying about it for the future, we want to share our adventures with you. Because it's so amazing to live a life  with the Lord guiding your kids education and your family's  So listen for some relatable stories because we are sinners and it is tough  , and we do get some things right thanks be to God So we invite you to laugh with us or at us  As we give you some parenting tips and parenting wisdom and hopefully help you to deepen your family bond with a family culture centered on the Lord.

Now, we don't only want to raise disciples that want to go out and make disciples themselves. We want to raise athletes who can talk smack on the field if they have to, but in a meek way. You know, we want our kids to love and serve others, but... We also want them to boldly stand up for the truth or for the Catholic faith when they're confronted because they will be as soon as they may be in college or even if they're out and about and  , hanging with their Protestant brethren.

Oh gosh, what are some of the things people have asked me about Catholicism over the years? Oh, you guys worship Mary. I've heard you leave Jesus. On the cross crucified he raised from the dead and you guys just leave him up there I think the only one I get is How do you know when to stand or sit or kneel?

That's like the main one. Okay. I'm like, hey, it's a full workout guys. Yeah, come on Catholic calisthenics You know it you'll get it after like three or four weeks. That's it. That's all it takes  Oh, you know what? I literally heard someone when I was in college told me I went to the Catholic Church my whole life and I never heard the gospel  They were completely daydreaming Well, and he probably meant He never heard Jesus died for your sins and now say the sinner prayer I mean he literally heard the gospel every single week at mass.

Okay, so yeah, we don't have altar calls every day Right or every Sunday, right? , We try to teach our kids the faith through the history of the church and through Things we do in our day to day life  In today's episode,  we're going to dive a little more into modesty. We talked about that in last week's episode. So if you want to go back and listen to that  because you know, the Catholic church, they hold to its stance on the dignity of life. Euthanasia, abortion, they hold to their truth on marriage, being between a man and a woman.

And they hold to their truth about yoga pants are not  Modest.  And I'm going to tell you seriously about that, that the Catholic church has made a stance on that, or at least the Steubenville youth conference. So we're going to talk about that.  And, , Mat and I are going to tell you guys the story about how we met.

As you know,  this is our fourth episode and  I'm always perusing and seeing what , other podcasters out there are doing. And someone was telling their story on how they met and I thought, okay, our story is pretty cool. So we're going to share that with you guys. Okay. And before that, I want to share some wins with you.

So I told you guys last time about. I did some social media. Well, this time you guys, I posted a reel in my first reel. It reached like 400 people. So what? Yeah, I know. That was good. Wow. And well, I mean, some reels reach millions. Okay. So that's not good. But for me, I was like, okay, that's okay.

Listen. So the next day I worked on a 10 second reel for one hour.  And that reel went on to get 15 views,  . Oh.  So yeah. Okay. Still figuring that out. It was, and it was about Mother Theresa on her feast day. And I was  so proud of it. And just, I love Mother Theresa. She's actually my patron saint, that's my middle name.

Theresa. Right. And I wanted to honor her, but me and those 15 people saw it so , and I think they were probably all over the age of 85, because those are the ones that really dig that kind of thing. Right. Okay. So,  all right. Yet, that's the wrong demographic because I don't think too many older ladies are watching Reels on their phones, probably.

Right, I don't think they have  Instagram. Yeah, you need to find a younger saint.  No. I'm just saying. Well, I know lots of good saints that are young. Okay. Blessed Carlo Acutis okay, he's a millennial. , he died at like about 17 years old. He's a great saint to tell your kids about. He was a, computer whiz and he actually built a website and you can still go to that website today  about all the Eucharistic miracles all the miracles of the Eucharist where hello the Eucharist literally turned into flesh okay and has been studied so that's one thing all of our kids have watched those videos right miracles of the Eucharist and they tell their  Protestant friends about it  our kids go to a Non Denom youth group, two of our kids and it's, it's awesome.

They love it. Those people love Jesus. But our daughter has shared that she's talked about miracles of the Eucharist. But you're talking about young saints, but you're getting me off the topic. Okay. Okay. Well, okay.  So blessed Carlo Acutis, he's one and.  Who's the other young saint we love?  You guys have to hear this amazing story of Jose Sanchez Del Rio. Okay.

I just want to say his name one time. Say it. Jose Sanchez  Del Rio.  You gotta , roll those R's hard. Give this guy props.

Yes. He gets mad props. Okay. Because back in the 1920s, the Mexican government,  began persecuting Catholic priests,  and Christians, Catholic Christians and seizing church property.

The

Cristeros are the rebels, the Catholic rebels that were fighting against this horrible  government that was slaying Catholics.

And Jose Sanchez del Rio, he is a 14 year old martyr. His two big brothers joined the Cristeros and he begged to join them, but his mom wouldn't  let him.  . And the general wouldn't accept him either until he did so much. He hung around camp so much that finally they said, okay, let him in.

So he was their flag bearer , in the battles.  And he was known for his horsemanship skills. , and the, the family had horses.

horses.

Okay, so here's what happened in battle.  One of the older Christeros' horse got shot out from under him, and, and the horse was killed, Jose.  Gave him his horse,  went for cover. And so that guy escaped, he, Jose went for cover,  some say behind a dead horse and shot at the, , opposing army, shot at the government,  until he ran out of ammo and was caught.

Okay. They caught him. They put him in jail or they kept him in, I think they used the church as the jail.  And even murdered a guy in front of him to show him all you have to do is renounce Christ. All you have to do, , you won't have this happen to you. And instead, that 14 year old kid, he encouraged that martyr and said, soon , you'll be with Jesus and I'll see you there.

He wrote a letter to his mom from jail  saying, , I'm ready to die for Jesus I'm ready to give my life for my Savior and

Even the dad tried to raise a ransom to save him, but he  that didn't happen So they kept saying all you have to do is renounce Christ and you can live

they cut the bottoms of his feet off and yeah, and made him march through gravel to where they were going to kill him. , they tortured him along the way and he never, he cried out in pain, but he never of course renounced Christ. And , when they went, when the last thing they did, when they killed him.

His last

words were VIVO CRISTO REY and he made a cross in the dirt and kissed it and died.

Hmm. That's rough. ,

well, it's amazing. So one time I was in Los Angeles and I went to the Los Angeles Basilica and they had, a nook for him for, they had his picture of when he took first communion. They had the letter that he wrote to his mom.

from jail, you know, some, and they had some relics of him. And so this is where I  really was like, Oh my gosh, this boy, I love him so much. , wow. , he's the patron saint of children. So I started praying right then for my kids. , please pray for my kids to Jesus. So.  The awesome thing about this is  I went to sleep that night in LA and I woke up the next morning.

I wasn't planning on  Oh, I could go to daily mass. But as soon as I woke up that next morning, the first thing on my mind was , I could go back to that church and I could see Jose Sanchez del Rio again. Like he called me back to him. There was this yearning in me to go back to that church and pray some more and ask him to pray for, , my kids some more.

And so ever since then, and I did, I went to daily mass before I had to be at my first meeting that morning  you know, the saints are very alive and they're there to, they want to pray for us to the Lord. And that's one saint that has been a huge help with the rearing of our kids. And we have another saint that did that kind of the same thing called to our family.

We'll tell you about her next week,

Oh yeah.

Casha.

St. Rita of Cassia

. You know how they know about a lot of these saints? There's a CD.  Glory stories, audio of stories of saints.

And they've listened to a ton of them. So these are great. You play them in the car when you're driving somewhere. Glory stories, look them up. Okay. All right. But we, okay, we've already given our listeners like two nuggets of, of things to do or things to listen to. I'm pumped about that or one nugget I've lost count, but we'll take that.

Okay. But we do have another tip at the end. I'm going to give you another tip that.  You can start doing and it's going to be super easy. No work for you at all. And it's going to help everybody at Mass. You, your husband, your kids are all going to take in the Mass better with this one little tip.

Okay.  But first, speaking of  Mass, there was a distraction for me at the very beginning today. And it's always a distraction when someone comes in late, okay? Especially in the front doors. Yeah, yeah, because ours have fronts, front and back. So if you come in the front door, you're  a few feet from the altar.

And, these people that came in late, okay?  The monks.  We have in our area a monastery, a micro monastery. There's only  four or five monks that live at this  tiny monastery.  And they come to Mass. They've been coming to our Mass, but they don't always because they have Mass at their monastery.

Now I'm thinking, okay.  , y'all don't have to get any kids ready for church  . Y'all wear the same exact thing. You don't got to pick out your church clothes. Couple are bald so there's no hair to be did. Nope. They they wear the long casick, either a white or black casick. Yeah.  Your typical,  what you would envision a monk wearing and they wear mandels sandals for men.

Exactly. And so I'm thinking , how are y'all late for mass? But. It just takes one of those guys to be like, okay, holding the whole show up. Well, so that was, that was distracting. But  speaking of how the, the monks dress,  I want to talk to you guys a little bit more about modesty.

. The Steubenville Youth Conference.  Now, I was a chaperone for my daughter and it's for high schoolers. So let me tell you about the Steubenville Youth Conference. If you are a parent, I'm not only going to urge you to send your kids to this conference.

You need to go to and chaperone. And Matt you're gonna chaperone when our boys are old enough. Oh really? Because this thing is amazing. It's put on by the Franciscan University , which is in Steubenville, Ohio. And the Franciscan University is the quintessential Catholic college. The Catholic superhero,  , Scott Hahn actually teaches there.

If you guys haven't read or listened to any of Scott Hahn's stuff, start doing it. He is one of the most prolific Catholic authors, writers, and apologists of our time.  His most famous  work, the most reproduced and  passed out is Rome Sweet Home. Scott Hahn was a staunch Catholic hater. As a Protestant, he was raised as a Protestant and went to seminary for Protestants and he would save you out of the Catholic faith if he got in a conversation with you, he found his grandmother's rosary beads after she died and like rip them apart because he's like, these are  you know, idols and, but what he's so brilliant is that when he started  studying  what the church actually teaches.

He was so blown away by the truth of it that he converted and is now the greatest Catholic apologist of our time. , but he teaches  University.  Franciscan University is the one that puts on the Steubenville Youth Retreat, which is two days at some hotel somewhere.

And it's so awesome.  , when the first session started off,  it's got , the big screen up on stage, and it's got the countdown timer, 10, 9. The kids just all start flooding the stage. Now, all these are high school kids.  And the, the countdown timer goes off and the band starts playing and these kids are hype.

Okay, they got Light up things in the air. It's like,  a concert Wow, and then  throughout  these two days  You can just see the faith of these kids  build and build and ours had father Leo Patalinghug Now have you heard of him?  Did you say he's like a local pastor , No, he's not a local.

He is a Filipino dude. Yeah. , he's super cool. , if you listen to the Catholic channel, he has this thing called Grace Before Meals or maybe it's a podcast, Grace Before Meals. He actually beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network in season three, episode one, like beat Bobby Flay that show. Yeah.  He's a big  chef.

He's also a third degree black belt in two or three martial arts. And one of them is Filipino stick  Dude, this guy's serious. Yes, but he's like five feet tall. But he is a giant of the faith. And he was saying he has a collection of blessed weaponry like nunchucks and Ninja type of stuff. that he's blessed,

that's awesome.

throwing stars.

do you bless nunchucks?

Well, he got to be a priest, for one.

Why do you bless nunchucks?  Maybe that's a better question.  For better accuracy? , to inflict the most amount of pain?

Or maybe,  this blow would send this person to heaven, if...

I could knock some sense into some pagans around here.

Well, and his nunchuck skills showed because when he... I've never seen a priest do this. The thurible... Which is , the  thing that holds the incense and it's suspended from chains and they're swinging it ,

And

he's doing figure 8s across his chest with that or  what?

Almost literally he did a 360  with it. Okay. He swung that thing in a whole circle. Now I have seen priests  do back and forth, the pendulum and that's it. This guy, he's like, ha, wathca!

Watcha! Wow, like you could hear the swishing noise, like in the kung fu movies, , whoosh, whoosh,  whoosh.

Remember when it went by?

Yeah,  right.

just dub that over the speakers when he was flinging this thing around?

dub that? What were the Holy Spirit in a form of  whoosh!

Man, that's impressive. Okay.

he was impressive.

That's nice. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be hit by those nunchucks.  Put it that way.

He cracked jokes. He referenced TikTok videos. I mean, he made some references that were so hip. I didn't even know what he was talking about. But, you  know, the kids were laughing, so they knew what it was.  And, you might have been to Adoration before, but you ain't felt nothing until you see 1, 200 teens  in Adoration.

They're kneeling down, they're standing up, their hands are raised, there's tears streaming down their faces, their mascara is running, , as the monstrance is being, , brought around, they're bowing down. It was the most  palpable, Hmm.

I took four girls we do a little bible study at our home. And so I took, , the girls who were in high school. So  we have a relationship. One of them was my daughter. Oh, we even saw this dude get slain in the spirit. Have you ever seen a Catholic get slain in the spirit?

He's just like, mumbling crazy stuff? No, , it was a chaperone,  , when the monstrance came to him, he was already kneeling down, and he just starts convulsing,  his whole body's shaking, and he just fell out. What? Yeah, just fell flat down. Father Leo Padalinghug had to step over him.

He's like, excuse me, sir!  Yeah, my girls, , all the girls who saw it because it was right in front of us. They were talking about that , Oh my gosh, what was wrong with that dude? I'm like, girl, that's called slain in the spirit. You don't know about that?  Yeah, because you're an Catholic. We don't ever see that.

No, we don't. But that's because if we did, we'd be calling the paramedics at our church real quick. I'll tell you that right now. And the mass still don't stop, right? Okay. So I want to tell you some of the things the kids said.  One girl in our group said that she was considering maybe the holy life, the what they call it.

I couldn't think of the nunnery. No,  to be a nun. Yeah, be a sister. She was actually thinking about that. Wow. One of our kids in our group said that  she realized that  Wow. God made every organism so magnificently perfect  that all I should be doing is worshiping him every day in all I do.

That's a 15 year old that made that. And that's talk about  the journey from the head to the heart, you know? And I know that person has recently been studying biology. Because, , that's the level they're at in high school. So, knowing that that person  Oh look, this is how a cell's made.

And then realizing, taking  Wow. Right, exponentially beyond the science. Yeah, yeah. So.  So much good feedback, but at the end they did this altar call and they called, it was after mass on Sunday, everyone's just so hype, , one kid, they were like, you know, pray out to Jesus, , and this kid just  screams from the back of the room, now there's 1, 200 kids, he's like, I love you Jesus, and it just was so cool, but they did an altar call, Their first are like, are you interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or becoming Catholic?

Ten or twelve kids went out there to find out to become Catholic. Okay. I know I didn't even know there were other kids Yeah, they would already be Catholic. Yeah, you don't have to be Catholic to go  Father Leo  Padalinga told a funny story about a kid who was given a confession and he's like The kid just, you know, he poured it out and he said, when I raised my hand to absolve him, he slapped me on the high five.

Oh, he's like, thank you, father. And the kid's like, that felt great, and I'm not even Catholic. Oh, wow.  father like put, took his hand back and he's like, Oh,  okay, why can't absolve him? And that's a, yeah, another thing is they do confession all weekend. So all these kids are seeing their peers go to confession because, you know, people are averse to confession.

Some people in this room are averse to confession.  It's just you and me.  Right, right, right. So It's you. Okay.  Okay. So where was I?  Oh, the altar call.  So then they say, are there any young women who want to think about  being a bride of Christ? Of course   this doesn't mean you're going to be one.

, you want to think about it more and discern.  They did that altar call and I'm gonna tell you at least 50 young ladies went up there. That's impressive. Yeah It I mean, I was just tears streaming down because it's like wow, it's like a dying profession. Yeah, and  these kids were touched and so when they did it for priesthood said any young boys want to  think about the priesthood Crickets?

At least a hundred. Wow. At least a hundred kids went up to that, to that altar call. One kid  sprinted up there. Really? He's like, I'm the first in line? And one kid, he was in our row. He was laying prostrate during worship. Literally on his stomach laying prostrate. He  didn't even hesitate.

Went up there. It was just so beautiful. God is alive and he is moving and these teens they want the truth. Yeah, they do see more of that. They do so Steubenville is awesome. You should not only send your high school kid, you should chaperone it yourself and you can find one anywhere. We have people from DC.

We're in Orlando but they're all over. So check out the 2024 Steubenville. It's going to be in summer and see where they are and get your kid there. Okay. So let's move on to talking about I think you completely overlooked the modesty talk you were going to have. You just completely got sidetracked.

Thank you.  You're right. Thank you. That's why you're my co host.  You deserve it. Here to keep you on the straight and narrow. That's all.  In the Steubenville packet, because I was a chaperone, it had the dress code and it said, no yoga pants. Come on, those are like a staple  And when I had a meeting with the girls, I took in their moms I mean like they were like, okay, I gotta go shopping cuz I love me some yoga pants I wear yoga pants all the time.

Yeah, but we did it all of us were within the dress code and  I have it to compare to this our kids go to the Nondenominational youth group and  there's a little retreat they do at the Young Life place. And here's their dress code.

Your spandex can't be see through.  I hope not. Well,  right. It's like, what kind of standards is that? And you know what? It's like, I think I've got two pair of spandex. This one's see through. That's not, I guess I can't wear that this time. So,  okay. I'll just wear the other pair. But here's the thing. , the Catholic church stands firm on our beliefs.

That's why I love it.  Because two years ago, the dress code said for this Protestant camp,  no spandex allowed.  And now they're saying, oh, okay, well, the culture's just doing spandex. , as long as it's not see through. Didn't know they still made those. Well, it's the cheap ones, you know.

That's a good thing. Good,  for the Catholic Church for saying, you know what? Even though we're going to have 1, 200 youth. We ain't letting no yoga pants up in here, people. Hmm. I hear that. Okay. So thank you for keeping me on track there. Of course.

Okay. So, speaking of yoga pants, when I first met Maeve, she was working as a waitress.  I didn't have yoga pants on. I didn't say you did. I'm just saying. It's just gonna be on the subject. Just trying to make a segue, people.  I wish that was your uniform. I've had to wear khakis. Yeah. With a golf shirt. Right.

A buddy of mine was like, hey, I got,  a coupon at this barbeque joint. Never went there before.

So , okay, let's go check it out. So we went there for lunch and we walked in.  And, this is a small town. , you kind of know who people are and you've seen them before. Because I grew up here basically, and I went to high school here. Lo and behold, , this little blonde thing comes rolling up, taking our order.

And I'm like... Never seen you before. Okay, kind of got my attention. You liked what you saw?  Yeah, of course.  I mean, when you're slinging barbecue. Remember what my name means. Right, of course. Makes men feel intoxicated. So that caught me by surprise.  It wasn't like, you , hit me like a ton of bricks.

But, , you definitely got my attention.  Wait, what?  I mean, when you saw me, I didn't hit you like a ton of bricks. I mean, you definitely caught my attention, but , I didn't.  I think you probably saw, , sun rays from heaven and heard angels singing, , when I walked by you.  Along with the smell of barbecue in the background   put a whole,  another element in this thing, you know?

Oh, yeah, there's probably birds chirping and, , the smell , smoked pork in the back. Mm hmm.  We go there again next week. And this time we're asking for her section   we get it and a little small talk here and there just some,  light flirting  and this goes on for  a month  and my buddy's like every week they came every week for a john Wayne burger.

Yeah.  My buddy, , we were just starting out on this job and he's like, dude, you got to  pull the trigger because going out to lunch at this barbecue joint. Yeah. It ain't cheap. , this is costing him a lot of money because we didn't normally go out to eat . So the pressure was on.

And then, when you would go back, the whole office would be like, Did you get her number? Oh, it was like Gossip Central. Yeah, because there's three or four women there that just would wait till he gets back from lunch to see if he made the move.  Well, listen, so...

What I like is he was respectful that he just didn't  Oh, hey, can I have your number? Because, okay, this was before social media, so you had to ask for people's number.  This is stuff, this is the kind of stuff he would say to me. He said one time,  because I have my hair in low pigtails, back when I could rock that look because I was so young, can't do that anymore, but.

And I'm wearing a shirt and tie, okay.  What's that got to do with it? I'm just saying. Okay, anyway.   So one time I walk up and I have my hair looking cute and he goes,  Oh, your hair looks good today. , usually it looks like you just got out of the shower and just come straight here.

Oh, okay. I mean, I was just being real, you know, this is me just, I walked away like, okay. Yeah. See, you  didn't know what hit you too. And I just threw you for a lefty no, I didn't know. I'm like, this dude's got no game.  Okay, so then one time these women come in and they   request my section But the weird thing is is people don't request your section unless you've served them before or you know them and I had no idea Who these women were who requested my section? So that was just weird So I come up and they just start peppering me with 20 questions.

Are you in college? Where do you lalala everything about my life? and they go  we work with those guys who come in here one of them likes you and he's just the greatest guy. He opens doors for women. He is so nice and respectful. We would not be doing this if he wasn't just the greatest  And I said, well.  Isn't Matt married? Because he wore this wedding band  so the whole time, he had a wedding band on his right hand. Yeah, I was rocking a Metro. But I never thought right or left or whatever. So, actually the whole time in the back of my mind, I'm just thinking, this dude's kind of , , Creeper because he's what he's married, but he's seeing if he can flirt.

That's what I thought Oh like I changed my ring like at the last second before I walk in the restaurant Well, I never thought it's on your left or right hand. I just saw a wedding band creeper. I They're like, oh, he's the guy too. So I was like, okay. Well, you know, oh, yeah, I'm single.

I think you were a little more into it than that. At least that's what you told me.  You're like, but isn't he married? And, , cause you thought it was , my buddy that liked you. And as soon as they said no,  your eyes just got... Your buddy is not my type at all, you know,  no attraction there, but you are handsome and you are good looking So I was like, oh, yeah,  They came back to the office and they're like, hey, you know what well  You need to go down and get her number and I'm just  petrified.

I'm like the cats out of the bag It's like do or die at this  So, I have to go down there. How many cliches can you fit in? The cat's out of the bag, it's do or die at this point. I'm going for three, hang on, just hold on one second.  We're working on his cliches, y'all, okay? Just say what you mean, honey, use your own words.

So, I go down there after lunch by myself, walk up to the front counter, ask for her. As all the other waitresses are preparing for other tables and getting drinks and stuff. Well, and this is late in the day, so, Yeah, things are slow. Everyone's just, all the waitresses are just standing around.

They got nothing better to do than listen to me freaking yap my face off and  see if I'm gonna get shot down. So I'm asking her at the counter, Oh, hey, it's me. I'm that guy, you know, that the ladies were talking about.  , so can I get your number and we can go out sometime or something like that?

And you're like,  I don't give my number out to guys,  but I can get yours and I'm like, you've got to be kidding me. I'm looking at these other ladies who are giving me this look like You're a such a sucker right now  , wow, my whole man ego just got blown out of the water, right? But you gave me your number I called you  , yeah, you waited, like, two days, too.

You're playing a rule back then. Jeez. I think it's still a rule. I don't know, because on social media, I don't know what they do nowadays. But, yes, that was a rule. You waited two days. So you didn't,  appear desperate. Yeah. Okay. Funny thing is, I didn't answer twice. So I heard you blow my phone.  Not true.

Not true.  Then we start talking on the phone and I told him, you know, I'm not gonna date you but what we can do  is You always like to hear that first thing gosh  I said we could go to adoration together and that was the first thing we did ever together We went to adoration And I think you, , if I remember this correctly, you were kneeling down praying, and you teared up in adoration.

I'm like, Lord, is this gonna be the only date? And is this the only thing we're ever gonna do?  I'm just like,  tell me it gets better. I'm just kidding. Yeah.. So then , on top of that,  ,  I was starting the book, the 40 day the purpose driven life. And I told him we can do this book together.

We can read this book and we'll just talk. We'll read a chapter. The thing you do is you read a chapter a day and there's discussion questions. So we did the purpose driven life for the first 40 days we knew each other. So that was a good foundation.  At this point in my life, I was completely sold out for the Lord.

I was putting him first and living my life for him. And , when Matt and I met, he later told me, he's like, you know,  I was ready to start taking my faith more serious.  Right.  , so , we're doing this Purpose Driven Life. Well, then Matt comes in one time for lunch and all he orders was a soup.

Because I was sick. He was feeling under the weather. I gave him a bowl of soup. It was like a , four dollar bowl of soup. , I remember because  It came up to 3. 69 you guys, this bowl of soup. So  if you're going to a restaurant and you like the waitress and you're trying to , you know, get in good with her.

If she serves you a 3. 69 bowl of soup and gives you the bill,  you promptly lay a 5 bill down and that's it. You don't ask for any change.  This man Ask me for change.

Why? I forgot what I left you. Like a dollar? I don't even think it was 20%.  I gave you more than 20%. No. So, I still haven't let him lay that down. You tip that girl good is what you do. But, okay. I should have known then, he's the saver. I'm the spender, so. Yeah, I should have known then.

What am I getting myself into?  Oh, right. Gosh. 18 years later, here we are growing in faith together, making each other more perfect. What the Lord has joined together, let no man put asunder. And we are.  For a cliche iron sharpening iron in this marriage because we are making each other better    we're coming to the end of this episode I did promise you  one thing that you can do to boost your whole entire family's understanding at mass and that is Read the readings On the way to mass, , now this might sound basic to some of you guys, but Hey, somebody told me this and I had to start doing it.

They said,, if you're a coach, your players, they know the plays before they go into the game. And so you should be reading the readings for mass that week. And so I'm sure some families sit down on Monday or Wednesday and they read them at home, but no, you know what works for us.

We have a 15 minute ride to mass. I whip out my phone in the front seat and I read the readings on the way to mass and it takes about five or six minutes and everyone's a captive audience and we talk about it a little bit, , I give out anything that I understand and Matt does the same or we make a comment on it and then  when we hear it, what, 20 minutes later in mass,  It's so much more absorbed.

Easier to digest, yeah. Yeah, so much. So,  there you go. That's how you can deepen your whole entire family's faith. , take them to Mass every week. And, read the readings on the way to Mass. So, Perfect. This has been Home is Where the Truth Is. Thanks for listening. , oh, Instagram. At
