Hey everyone and welcome to Ask Velvet. I'm your host, Velvet. In today's episode, I want to do something a little different. I want to introduce you to my three cats. Yes, my cats. I don't think I've ever really talked about them on the podcast before, but it's time my listeners meet the loves of my life. So let me tell you about them. Their names are Boo Boo Linny Whiskey, he's the oldest, and then there's Prince Benjamin Button Rain. And finally Apollonia Taylor Olivia Bejeweled. Yes, it sounds like a lot, but let me explain. Boo Boo came to me as a stray on my back porch when he was just a baby. He never left, and I've had him ever since. He's full of personality and character, and he answers to Boo Boo because honestly, I tried all kinds of names, and that was the one he responded to. His middle name is Lenny after Lenny Kravitz, and whiskey comes from a song called Whiskey Blues. It's a country song. Then there's Prince and Apple, my youngest two. I got them as babies from my son and daughter-in-law Kat's Litter. Prince is named after the singer Prince, and his full name includes Benjamin Button after the movie and Rain. Another nod to Prince Apple. The only girl is Apollonia Taylor Olivia Bejeweled. Apollonia and Prince used to sing together. Taylor is of course for Taylor Swift, Olivia for Taylor's cat, and bejeweled for Taylor's song. Yeah, they have a lot of names, but each one has meaning and personality. Boo Boo is an indoor outdoor cat. While Prince and Apple are learning the ropes of being indoor outdoor, they've been lifesavers around the house because let's be real, living in DC, mice are a thing. Even in a clean house. They've caught quite a few mice and well sometimes leave their little gifts for me to find. Waking up to a mouse on your bed isn't quite exactly my favorite thing. But hey, that's part of the job they do. Now here's the deal. If anyone wants to deal with me or date me, you have to love cats. That's it. There's no way around it. And if you don't like cats, you won't be able to deal with me. And honestly, if my cats don't like you, that's an automatic red flag. They're great judges of character. I've learned that the hard way. I'm perfectly happy being the proud cat lady if that means avoiding emotional stress and toxic relationships. My cats bring so much joy to my life. I really couldn't imagine life without them. Two black and white boys and a feisty gold girl, each with their own personality, each keeping me on my toes. So that's it. My three fur babies Boo Boo, Prince and Apple, the loves of my life. If you ever hear little pause or meows in the background of my episodes, now you know who it is.
