As I look upon my nails bare and honest in the light, I'm reminded of what used to be tiny crowns I wore just right. My beautiful acrylics long and bold, clicking secrets as I moved, every tap a declaration. I have arrived, I have improved. They caught the sun in glossy shine, little mirrors of my mood, painted fierce or soft and subtle. Either way they understood. But now oh now they're gone away. No dramatic tap, no flare, just quiet fingertips that whisper Girl, it's different over here. I miss the length, the attitude, the way they made a moment mine. How even holding something simple felt a little more divine Oh how I wish I could go back to that polished, perfect track, to the sound of confidence with every click clack clack. But maybe beauty never left, maybe it just changed its form from acrylic shields of glam to something softer just as warm. Still, if I'm being honest dear, and let's not pretend or act, I'm looking for appointment soon because I want my acrylics back.
