Welcome to Ask Velvet. Let me tell you something. Tonight tested my patience in a way I was not prepared for. You ever be so hungry that you already taste the food before it even gets there? Yeah, that was me. So I get home, I'm tired, I'm ready to relax. And I do what most of us do. I open up DoorDash and place my order. Simple, right? Something that should have taken at most thirty minutes turned into a full hour and a half ordeal. And when I tell you I was watching that clock like it owed me money, woo. Let's get into it. So boom, I place my order. Everything's going smooth at first. I'm thinking okay, I'll have my food just in time to sit down and enjoy the rest of the NFL draft. Cool. But then time starts passing. Thirty minutes go by. Okay, maybe they're a little busy. Then forty five minutes. Now I'm checking the app. An hour. Oh now I'm irritated. And the worst part? The communication was not there. I'm looking like what is going on? Where is my food? No clear updates. Nothing that makes sense. So by the time this man finally gets to my neighborhood, I'm already on edge. Tell me why he drives right past my house, not slows down, not hesitates, drives right past. Now I'm standing there like hey I'm here over here. And then this is the part that really got me. He pulls up to my neighbor's house like that's where the delivery is supposed to go. At that point, I'm like Are we serious right now? I had to flag him down like I was directing traffic. And the whole time he's on the phone just talking, distracted, not paying attention. And I'm standing there thinking this is why my food took an hour and a half. Not traffic, not the restaurant, distraction. By the time I got my food, I wasn't even just hungry anymore. I was annoyed. Because it's not just about the weight, it's about the experience. If you're doing a job, especially one where people are depending on you, you've got to be focused. And let me be real. I'm usually the type to tip. I believe in tipping, I believe in showing appreciation. But tonight, no no no no no no no. No tip and definitely no good review. Because if nobody says anything, nothing changes. And I'm absolutely putting in a complaint because there's no reason that should have happened.
SPEAKER_00Now look, I get it.
SPEAKER_01Shit happens, orders get delayed, traffic is real, and nobody's perfect. But communication and attention, those are things you can control. And tonight just wasn't it. But if nothing else, it gave me something to talk about with you all. So if you've ever had one of those delivery horror stories, just know you are not alone. This is Ask Velvet where real life meets real talk.
SPEAKER_00And I'll catch y'all in the next one.
