Welcome back to Ask Velvet Podcast. I'm so glad you're here. Today's episode is for anyone who's ever had a dream that other people just didn't understand. Maybe you've shared an idea with someone and instead of encouragement they asked, How much money are you making? Or how many followers do you have? As if your dream only matters when it comes with numbers. I've been there. When I started this podcast, I wasn't chasing fame, I wasn't chasing money. I was chasing purpose. I wanted something more for myself. I wanted to build something that was mine. I believed I had a voice worth sharing, and that belief was enough to get me started. People often ask me, how many subscribers do you have? Or are you making money yet? My answer is simply not yet. But that doesn't change how I feel about what I'm building. I believe in myself. And sometimes that's the most important thing you can have. Believe in yourself when nobody else sees what you see. Trusting the process, and understanding that success doesn't happen overnight. One thing I've learned is that every dream has a beginning. Nobody starts at the top. Every successful business, every successful podcast, every successful creator started with one person who simply believed enough to begin. For me, that's this podcast. I'm seeing downloads, I'm seeing people listening from different places. Those numbers remind me that I'm moving in the right direction. Even if I'm not where I ultimately want to be. Could I quit because I'm not making money yet? Sure. Could I stop because I don't have thousands of subscribers? Absolutely. But if I stop today, I'd never know what tomorrow could have brought. That's why I keep going. I'm blessed to have parents who encourage me, my sisters encourage me, my brothers encourage me, my bestie encourages me. Their support means the world to me. But here's something I've realized. Even with supportive people around you, there will always be people outside of your circle who don't understand your vision. They'll question your dream because they can't see what you see. And that's okay. Your job isn't to convince everyone else to believe in your dream. Your job is to keep believing in it yourself. Building something meaningful takes time, it takes patience, it takes consistency, it takes showing up on the days when nobody is clapping for you. When the money starts coming in, I already know where it's going. I'm going to invest it back into the podcast. Better equipment, better production, better content, and a better experience for my listeners. That's not an expense. That's an investment. Success isn't built in a day. It's built one step, one episode, one lesson, one victory at a time. If you keep planting seeds, eventually you'll have a harvest. Don't let someone else's doubts become your reality. Believe in yourself long enough to give your dream a chance to grow. As I wrap up today's episode, I want to leave you with this thought. Don't wait for the world to believe in you before you believe in yourself. Some people won't understand your dream until after you've succeeded. That's just how life works. Keep showing up, keep learning, keep growing, keep believing. Your progress may be slow, but slow progress is still progress. One day, the same people who question why you kept going may ask you how you made it. And when that day comes, you'll be able to smile and say, because I never stopped believing in myself. Thank you so much for spending time with me today. If this episode encouraged you, please share it with someone who needs a reminder not to give up on their dreams. Until next time, keep believing in yourself, keep chasing your purpose, and remember, your biggest supporters has to be the person you see in the mirror every single day. This is Ask Velvet, and I'll see you in the next episode.
