From the porch to the metro ride, let's talk real life. No need to hide. It's Ask Velvet, we back again Spilling truth like it's your best friend. Hot in DC, sun too bold, people meltin' in the streets like gold. And baby, we got things to say. So pull up close, don't drift away. Real talk, real laughs, a little shade. Summer stories that can't be delayed. So wipe your brow, fix your vibe. It's Ask Velvet. Come take a ride. All right, y'all. Let's talk about it. It is summertime in Washington DC and the heat is not just hot. It is argumentative. The sun is outside acting like it has beef with everybody. You step out your door and it feels like you're just open an oven and said yes, let me season myself in real time. And in weather like this, there are just some unspoken rules we all need to agree on as a society. Number one, deodorant is not optional. I don't care what lifestyle you're on, what routine you're trying, what documentary you watched last night, when it's this hot, we all need to be in agreement. Because let's be honest, riding the Metro in Washington DC in the summer is already a full sensory experience. You've got heat, crowds, delays, people standing too close, somebody's bag in your ribs, and everybody silently questioning their life choices. We do not need any unexpected bonus sense in the mix. And I'm not saying this to attack anybody. Life is life. People are rushing, working, tired, dealing with stress. I get it. But I am saying there is a shared responsibility when you are in public spaces, especially in close quarters. Because at this point, it's not just your day anymore. It becomes everybody's day. And listen, I want peace, I want calm, I want to mind my business and get where I'm going without my nostrils filing a complaint. So let's make a simple agreement. Stay cool, stay hydrated, put something on, respect the airspace. That's it. That's the bare minimum summer survival kit. Because DC already gives us enough heat waves, traffic, metal drama, and random life chaos. We don't need to add unexpected aroma events to the list. We're all just trying to survive this summer without melting into the sidewalk. So let's do it with a little dignity and a little preparation. Alright, now I'm done. I said what I said. If you felt attacked, reflect respectfully. If you felt seen, good. Either way, we all know this episode applies to somebody you cross paths with today. So do me a favor, don't just sit here and laugh quietly like I didn't just tell the truth. Go ahead and subscribe to the Ask Velvet podcast. Follow, share it, send it to your group chat, send it to that one friend who don't believe in deodorant like that. You know exactly who I'm talking about. Because we all know at least one person who needed this episode but hasn't admitted it yet. And I'll be back next time with more real talk, more laughs, and probably more chaos because that's just how DC Summers work. Until then, stay cool, stay fresh, and please, for the love of everybody's nostrils, be considerate. Bye y'all.
