Proverbs 2:1-5 (NKJV)
2 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,

4  If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures;

Three types of Songs to Sing
- Psalms — Scripture-based songs.
- Hymns — Structured songs of praise and truth.
- Spiritual songs — Spontaneous songs inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 150 (NKJV) Praise the Lord! 
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

Types of Praise
1)Yadah
 To extend or throw or throw up the hands
 Involves action of will not passivity
 To acknowledge in public. Psalms 63:4
 Praise is to be a public display Psalms 138:1 

Psalm 63:4 NLT
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
    lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
Psalm 138:1 NKJV
 I will praise You with my whole heart;
Before the gods I will sing praises to You.

2) Towdah
 Comes from the same root as Yadah but is expressed a little differently.
 Extending Hands in adoration
 Thanking God for things not yet received Ps 50:14

3) Halal
 Compared to fireworks Psalms 113:1
 Having dynamite in our Spirit/Hallelujah!!!
 This is the most common word used for praise
 To shine/to make a show/rave
 Celebrate to be clamorously foolish /enthusiasm. (like you sports team winning)

“Then David danced before the Lord with all his might…
So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.”
— 2 Samuel 6:14–15 (NKJV)

4) Shabach
 To Laud Somone publicly for their achievements Ps 117:1
 Laud means to speak well of, in a befitting and admirable way
 To Command, to Triumph, to address in a loud tone.
 To raise a Holy Roar.

Psalm 117:1 NKJV
117 Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles!
Laud Him, all you peoples!

5) Barak
 To kneel down, as an act of adoration blessing Him expecting to receive
something.
Psalm 95:6 NKJV
6  Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

6) Zamar
 Is Praise used along with instrumental Music
 Means to pluck the strings
Psalm 150:3-4 NKJV
3  Praise Him with the sound of the  [a] trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4  Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!

7) Tehillah
 Unprepared singing/Unrehearsed/Spontaneous Worship
Psalm 34:1 NKJV
34 I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

8) Ruah
 Shout for Joy, make a joyful noise.
 Breath, blowing trumpets instead of Shouting.
 An announcement of his presence among us.
Psalm 95:1 NKJV
95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

9) Qara
 Proclaiming or announcing the name of Lord
Psalm 116:17 NKJV
17  I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will call upon the name of the Lord.

Acts 16:25 (NKJV)
25  But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the
prisoners were listening to them.
