All Things Pilates with Darien Gold

Darien Gold, producer, writer, editor and host of All Things Pilates, brings her style and interviewing skills she developed in 2017 as a radio show host. Since then, Darien’s intention continues to light the way and bring greater exposure of the Contrology System and listeners rely on her and her guests for additional insights into the Pilates community. The Pilates Method is considered a global phenomenon and it has profoundly changed both the wellness and fitness conversations and through insightful interviews and expert discussions, Darien and her guests explore the fascinating history and evolution of Contrology.

Though we can’t know exactly what Joseph Pilates was thinking or feeling towards the end of his life, we do know he wanted the entire world to practice Contrology and so, as we discuss the man and the method, we learn more about how his genius continues to influence and inspire. Darien’s Podcast is a library filled with episodes that are helping to preserve valuable and historical information and a precious resource for decades to come.

“What’s Pilates?” Darien asked a fellow dance colleague when she was invited to take a Pilates duet class. It was 1992 and learning about this life-changing method was by word of mouth. “Just come with me” she said, “You’re going to love it!” And Darien did. It was a natural fit - a culmination of her twenty-plus years as a professional dancer and her competitive gymnastics training. In her very first lesson, Darien felt an immediate connection and when she learned of Romana Kryzanowska, a star disciple of Joseph Pilates and her certification program, Darien’s life path was about to change. Then in 1997, with her prized Romana certification in hand, opened a studio in West Hollywood naming it, Studio Darien.
