00:58

Okay well, Moments Like This a clean and modern romance novel.

01:04

What I would like to do first today is to go over the publisher’s book description and other pertinent information regarding Moments Like This. Before I cover my book review, so here we go.

01:15

Moments Like This is a modern and clean romance novel, written by author Anna Gomez in collaboration with Kristoffer Polaha.

01:25

Now many of you may have some questions, such as:

1.     Has Anna Gomez previously written awesome novels under the pseudonym Christine Brae?

2.    Is Kristoffer Polaha the same actor seen in Hallmark movies and mysteries?

3.    Is he the same Kristoffer Polaha who is featured in the movie Wonder Woman  1984, as well as several TV series?

01:52

The answers to all three of these questions are easy, but also very exciting…

·      Yes! Anna Gomez has written many great novels under the pen name, Christine Brae!

·      And yes! Kristoffer Polaha is the very same person/accomplished actor who has appeared in many TV series and in Wonder Woman 1984!

02:18

The publisher describes the Moments Like This as follows:

02:23

Moments Like This is Book One in the From Kona with Love series depicting multicultural romance, love, loss, and redemption woven into a family saga set in the beautiful islands of Hawaii. Though connected, each installment can be read as a standalone.

02:42
After Andrea “Andie” Matthews chooses her career over a marriage proposal and then loses a promotion she worked so hard for, she jumps at the chance to take a break and help run a friend’s coffee shop.

02:58

Alone in Hawaii, Andie befriends the staff and quickly grows to care for them, making her determined to revive the company.

03:07

As luck would have it, she meets the mysterious Warren Yates on Christmas Eve. They share a cup of coffee, some conversation, and even a moment, which leads to many more in the coming weeks.

03:21
But when Andie learns who Warren really is—and what he actually wants—she is torn between her feelings and his deception.

03:32

Okay so here is my book review of Moments Like This

03:37

Moments Like This this is an enjoyable and highly relatable read. I have read books by Anna Gomez, written under a pen name. As in her other books, I find enjoyment at how Anna’s writing style continues to flow with ease.

3:53

Much of the Moments Like This story takes place in Hawaii. Although I have never been to Hawaii, I very much enjoyed the rich narrative, flowing with a natural and authentic feel. And, as a certified scuba diver, I loved how the realistic depictions of sea-life, in Moments Like This, rang true and called forth wonderful deep sea memories for me. Underwater films can never match the feeling or the sense of complete awe, I experienced during my first ocean dive. Each and every one of my underwater experiences have affirmed my belief in a higher power. I wish everyone could have similar experiences and understand what is happening to our waters.

04:38

Okay, well back to our story. Moments Like This is the story of Andie, a savvy businesswoman, based in the vibrant, global city of Chicago. Andie recently ended a serious relationship. And she did so while there was a marriage proposal on the table. That made me wonder…what is Andie really looking for? And, what does she really want for the rest of her life? I mean, what does she…what does she want the rest of her life to look like?

05:06

This compelling and atmospheric story, tells me Andie is focused on her career. She is an integral part of the hustle and bustle of the thriving city. Then suddenly the unanticipated news that she was not chosen for an impressive and much desired promotion, sends Andie into an emotional tailspin.

05:28

Andie tries to regroup. She gathers herself up as best she can. Then she unexpectedly hops a flight to Hawaii where she plans to help revive the family business of her dear friend, Api. While in Hawaii, Andie meets a man. Warren is tall and looks every bit as handsome as that movie actor, Kristoffer Polaha (oops, sorry I let my imagination run away with me there for a second).

05:55

However, as I mentioned earlier, it turns out Kris Polaha is quite involved in Moments Like This. Kris has collaborated with author, Anna Gomez to create the romantic story of Andie and Warren. So, if you want to read the book seeing Andie and Warren as Anna Gomez and Kris Polaha…hey, who am I to judge?

06:16

The embraceable collaboration of Anna Gomez and Kris Polaha in Moments Like This provides the warm and fuzzy feeling of family, friends, and a budding relationship that seems destined to grow with every passing day.

06:30

So the first thing, and the last thing, I would like you to take away from this podcast book review is that Anna Gomez and Kristoffer Polaha came together to create an original, clean and multicultural romance story with characters who are vulnerable, yet strong and extraordinary, yet believable.  So, I ask you…what’s not to love?

06:53
