01:16

Alright, today’s book, the sizzling contemporary romance novel, A Lot Like Love, is Book One of the new Blue Moon Bay book series. And I have it on authority from the author, that Book 2 of the series is set to be available in October 2021.

01:33

A Lot Like Love revolves around Sarah, who left the Blue Moon Bay area some years ago, after she graduated high school. Since then, Sarah has become successful in the field of technology and she works out of the city of Los Angeles. But now, Sarah has returned to the seaside town of Blue Moon Bay. Sarah’s sole reason for her trip to Blue Moon Bay, is for the reading of her grandmother’s will.

02:02

As the will is read, Sarah learns she has inherited the Blue Moon Bay Bed & Breakfast from her grandmother.

 02:10

The inheritance was quite unexpected, and Sarah had no plans to stick around Blue Moon Bay for any length of time.

 02:17

Unfortunately, during a walk-thru of the Bed and Breakfast, Sarah quickly realizes that the building she just inherited is in a declining state of repair.

 02:29

Then in what I will describe as a rather embarrassing “meet cute” Sarah comes in contact (literally) with Wes.

 02:38

Not to be deterred by the awkward situation, Sarah capitalizes on it by hiring Wes to fix up the Bed and Breakfast, so she can sell it and get back to her job in L.A.

02:49

As it happens, Sarah and Wes do share a past, but only in that Sarah used to tutor Wes back in high school. He was a high school jock who was weak in math and science.

 03:01

Sarah learns Wes’s wife, Kathy, passed away a few years ago. Since then, Wes has been raising his now nine-year-old daughter, Marissa, alone.

03:11

It is quickly evident that the story in A Lot Like Love takes place in contemporary times. Sarah works in technology. And Marissa not only loves technology, but is also hungry to increase her knowledge and improve her tech skills. l especially love how Sarah’s technology expertise opens the door for Marissa to appreciate Sarah as more than just some woman her daddy used to know.

03:37

These points I have covered about A Lot Like Love are sufficient enough to make a lovely contemporary romance story. But, hold on! There’s more to this story than a budding romance and today’s technology.

 03:50

A Lot Like Love also has a mystery to go along with the romance theme. Sarah comes across her grandmother’s faded old journal. What Sarah learns from reading the journal is that she is now left with a curious mystery. This intriguing mystery from the past hooked me from the start! I can’t wait to learn more in the next book in this series.

 04:15

As I mentioned, A Lot Like Love takes place in a small seaside town. Having grown up in a small seaside community. My fondest memories are from that part of my childhood, where we spent the summers swimming in the waves and lounging on our beach towels along the shore.

 04:32

I really love that Jennifer Snow got that just right. And I especially enjoyed her spot-on descriptions of the sandy beach and the seashore. I found my joyful childhood memories rushing back.

 04:44

If you put all the pieces of A Lot Like Love together, you have a book that is a lot like love in many ways.
