Okay…what I would like to do first today is to share, with you, the publisher’s book description of I Am Not Who You Think I Am. Since the publisher’s book description is usually the very first thing you read when deciding whether or not to read a book, I’ll go ahead and cover that for you right here.

Publisher’s Book Description – I Am Not Who You Think I Am

One secret. Eight cryptic words. Lifetimes of ruin.
Wayland Maynard is just eight years old when he sees his father kill himself, finds a note that reads I am not who you think I am, and is left reeling with grief and shock. Who was his father if not the loving man Wayland knew? Terrified, Wayland keeps the note a secret, but his reasons for being afraid are just beginning.

Eight years later, Wayland makes a shocking discovery and becomes certain the note is the key to unlocking a past his mother and others in his town want to keep buried. With the help of two friends, Wayland searches for the truth. Together they uncover strange messages scribbled in his father's old books, a sinister history behind the town's most powerful family, and a bizarre tragedy possibly linked to Wayland's birth. Each revelation raises more questions and deepens Wayland's suspicions of everyone around him. Soon, he'll regret he ever found the note, trusted his friends, or believed in such a thing as the truth. I Am Not Who You Think I Am is an ingenious, addictive, and shattering tale of grief, obsession, and fate as eight words lead to lifetimes of ruin.Alright, that concludes the Publisher’s Book Description. Intriguing, was it not?

Now, I invite you to relax and enjoy my Book Club Reporter book review of:

I Am Not Who You Think I Am.

 02:54

I Am Not Who You Think I Am is a tense and fast-paced thriller novel about to let loose a heartbreaking secret leaving no one unscathed.

 03:05

Eric Rickstad brings his readers one of the most engrossing thriller novels I have ever read! The suspense is palpable and runs throughout the story. Early on in this gripping story we learn of an eight year old boy Wayland, who witnessed the horrific death of his father.

 03:24

Now, as an adolescent, Wayland begins to question the death of his father. In the face of discrepancies he cannot resolve, Wayland has questions. And so do we as readers, but I will not provide any spoilers in this book review. All I can say is if you are a fan of suspenseful thriller novels, you won’t want to miss reading I Am Not Who You Think I Am.

03:48

I utterly enjoyed this my first reading of a book by this author. I believe Eric Rickstad’s writing in I Am Not Who You Think I Am is absolutely stellar. All the clues are there...And if you love a challenge, I wish you good luck trying to sort out those clues in an effort to solve this intriguing mystery. After all, the challenge to solve the mystery  is the best part of reading a great mystery. I honestly don’t want to solve the entire mystery before finishing a book. But I do love being able to say, “Oh! I was so close! I almost had it!”

04:28

I also want to mention, I believe I Am Not Who You Think I Am would be a great book club selection as the hidden messages, mentioned in the publisher’s book description, are sure to spark plenty of book club discussions.

Oh, I would just like to say here that I don’t have a fancy podcast studio or any super expensive equipment. Me and my voice, are actually coming to you from a small clothes closet.  A couple of weeks ago I was going through some clothes and other things to donate to charity. As luck would have it, I came across an unopened package of heavy weight rod-pocket curtains. I quickly installed the curtains across the entry of my ‘recording closet” to act as a further buffer to any outside sounds that might otherwise affect the sound of this podcast.

 05:59

I am always working toward being able to afford better equipment here and there to improve the quality of this podcast show for my listeners. So, if you do decide to buy me a cup of coffee, via the link provided in the podcast notes, I thank you so much in advance for your kindness. You are very much appreciated.
