You can hear you can hear it in his voice, and you can see in his eyes. Yeah, he almost didn't know. No, no, but yeah. But allegedly. Allegedly. So they were staying there. He he he found out he was allergic to cats the hard way, and she is talking about their lack of sexual contact. And he's like, Oh, but you could understand why it was hard for me, and she's like, No, I get that, and I'm like, I don't know if you are, but like it sounds real, play the victim-ish. So it was like, I get it, Austin. And and I don't know if maybe they're just told to hey, sit here and have a conversation about your lack of sexual activity on camera right now. Go. And then they have to sit there and just do it for the camera, so to speak, and that's why it was awkward. But she was you could see it in her face. She was not having it, she was frustrated as hell. She she got blue lips. I don't I don't know what the female version is, but she wanted some and she didn't get some, and she was not happy.

And so when Dr. Pia came and they're talking and they're still, you know, talking about everything, but Becca didn't have that same like sourness that she had, you know, like that kind of straight out bitterness and um bitter, sour. Do they conflict? I don't know. Anyway, don't make eyes at me.

And I feel like that's more likely the answer, but I don't know. Like I I kind of feel awkward all of a sudden, like being disinvested in their sex life. I mean, the that's what I'm for them.

I know this was years ago, so I I hope you found your answer, but I mean, maybe a married couple, yes, they're gonna have sex under someone else's roof. You know, if they're you know, it I know if you and Alex were visiting me, I'm expecting you guys to have sex. I don't care. It's you guys are a married couple. But he may feel weird because it's his parents. Maybe, I don't know. Right. Well, actually it was his aunt and his uncle, his aunt, but which is even more a little bit like but but I don't know. So, my my my couple of points. He's a douchebag. She's still on walking on thin ice whenever she has to say anything to him. That mention he's a douchebag, he's very manipulative, king of gaslighting. And she's starting to, and I'm glad she talked to her friend because she actually said what she had to say. Although I still think she was still very nice about it. And she, I think she still held back on some things, and she was very diplomatic. She was very diplomatic. I'm not saying go ranting, cursing, and screaming. Yeah, I'm just saying she was diplomatic in what she had to say. She could have been a little bit more specific and a little bit more straight on some things, you know what I mean? Instead of being like going around some things, I think she still could have been like, no, this is you know, she was a big, but um, that's it. Damn, she's a douchebag. I think that we are seeing more or less like the culmination of everything that we have been seeing since episode two. Because episode one, we were like, okay, he seems fine. You know, or at least I was, because I didn't know any better. He, you know, it's been obvious that he has been carefully carefully choosing what he is gonna show to the camera and the world. And but more and more it's you know, there's there there's definitely a connection between insecurity and manipulation and all that. You know, and I wasn't really starting to see the manipul the mean the manipulation aspect of it until the last like one or two episodes. And and and he you know what, he did a good job of choosing what he was gonna show and whether or not the film editors kind of co-sign that is a curious thing. Because I wonder if they played into it so that we as the audience um or did he just did he just you know, let let start let letting like the cracks what what's I don't know what the expression is, like, you know like letting stuff slide through the cracks you know, where where we were seeing things or where Emily was finally like fuck this, I'm speaking up, even even though there may be a consequence. You know, maybe it was becoming too much for her. Um and I wonder I wonder now even more if that was more so the catalyst of his lack of attraction is because she you know at the very beginning she was definitely much more the first Emily that we met. And I think as they moved back after their honeymoon and actually even even on the honeymoon, like after she hurt her hand and she kind of um you know like maybe or so of the honeymoon, I feel like even then she was more somber than the first like then the times that we met her before the wedding and even the first couple of days, like even at the um the wedding, she was like, you know, really so I don't know. I just I wonder if that's when he started to show his true colors. Maybe she didn't realize um like the seriousness of it and didn't take him seriously at first. And and him seeing it as a a basically a threat to his sense of self, his sense of worth, you know, whatever, whatever shit he's got wrapped up in his head. And that was it. That was it for him. He can't control her, so next.

And Brendan's like, yeah, same girl. And she is you know, everything that she said in her in her interviews is everything that we have seen while we watch.

I will say also, when they showed his interview and he was like, Oh, I I want to learn how to be better in relationships. I hope you are saying that in response to them offering you coaching, like and support along the way, but and then it was like, Oh, I'm highly coachable. Also, when he's speaking with the guys, he's not so what's the word I'm looking for? He's not much of a know at all. He's more of a conversation you would Okay. I would have a conversation with my partner. He only has like those types of conversations with other men. Doesn't I don't feel he talks to Emily? He doesn't speak with her. Yeah talks at her. At her. So do you sure you want to do this? Is she do you want to have this conversation? Do you sure you want to say that? This is where you want to go.

And regardless of I don't know, like what what values he holds for his marriage, I think that there is more because you know, and not just not just the way he treated her, but the way he's treated her friends.

Like, if you want to make it work with her, you can't piss off her friends. And so, no, I I get it, they came in hot. Yes, they did. But if these are people that you care about making nice with, you don't go back at them. And and I'm not saying that, well, they did, I should he, because I I hate the whataboutisms. Yeah. But just because they didn't do it doesn't mean that you don't, especially if you're saying I care about this woman, I want to be with her, and I know that this would hurt her, you know, the friends should think that too. But we're not talking about their actions, we're talking about his actions. Correct. And so for me, I could only I could only think about what I would do in that position. And if Alex and I had just gotten married, and I was like, you know what, I'm really into this dude and I want to make it work, and I'm talking to his friends, and they're like, oh, but you didn't, and I'd say, I don't know exactly what the reaction would be, but I wouldn't yell. And I wouldn't try to get nasty. Yeah. I know. Because they're gonna go back to him and say, your wife is a fucking bitch.

Right. This is the opportunity to be the first time they're out of pocket is when you're the bigger person and you have that conversation with your spouse, like, hey, this is what happened. Now if we continue, right, then it's like no holes bar. But that is when you're like Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, right. This is when you do a friend reset, okay? If ever there was a reason. Yes. You reset those friendships, but um right. Yeah, he, you know, and it's just more and more you're seeing the little pieces to the bigger puzzle. And it is not a puzzle that I would keep.

Earlier in the episode, when they had the talking stick, but it was a charcuterie board. Yes. And he's like, I think we've done a really good job of showcasing our friendship. And I think it's important that we don't blur the lines between friendship and relationship and relationship.

Tell me specifically, and then she mentions that a few people at the wedding mentioned to her that they don't look like they were in a relationship, but they don't have a monkey's friends with you. Right, right. Thank you. And right away he's like, Well, that's what someone said to you, and if those people wanna be saying now those people's fault it's their issue, she's telling you what happened and what her concern is, and you're like, okay, bro, but chips and salsa.

But the point is not she actually said that's how she felt, and right there was confirmation from other people, so it wasn't like I don't believe them. This is not true, this is how I feel, and it's confirmation from the outside looking in.
