We Talk Health - Official Podcast of West Tennessee Healthcare

Let's Talk About Men's Mental Health with Pathways

West Tennessee Healthcare Season 2 Episode 14

In this episode of We Talk Health, we sit down with some folks from Pathways Behavioral Health Services to have an honest, eye-opening conversation about men’s mental health.

Men are often taught to “tough it out” or stay silent when they’re struggling—but mental health challenges don’t discriminate. These Pathways professionals are working to break down the stigma that keeps so many men from asking for help. With backgrounds that include lived experience, they know firsthand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel.

Together, they discuss what our mobile crisis unit does, how mental health and substance use disorder often go hand-in-hand, and what recovery can truly look like when people are met with empathy and understanding. Their message is clear: asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s an act of courage.

Whether you're struggling yourself, know someone who is, or simply want to better understand the challenges men face, this episode offers insight, encouragement, and hope.
