Money Mindset, Generational Strongholds, and God's Plan for Your Wealth
(00:00)
Dr. Tabatha: You are going to be so glad you tuned in to this episode. This might just be the game changer for your entire life. We are breaking strongholds in your mind—generational chains and curses that have kept you stuck when it comes to money. Today, we’re debunking the myths around faith, finances, and how God actually wants us to use wealth for good.
(00:45)
Dr. Tabatha: My guest today is an absolute powerhouse of a woman. Rachel Wortman is a biblical wealth architect, a pastor, and a wildly successful businesswoman. She once believed that poverty was a holy calling—until God showed her that good people with more money can do more good.
(01:22)
Dr. Tabatha: Rachel, welcome to the show. I’m so excited to have this conversation with you!
Rachel: Thank you so much! I’m honored to be here. I think this is one of the most important conversations Christians need to be having—especially women.
(02:35)
Dr. Tabatha: You mentioned before that you tried to live a life of poverty out of obedience to God. Can you walk us through what that looked like and what changed your perspective?
(05:17)
Rachel: I thought being poor meant being holy. I even believed that if I had less, I was somehow more obedient. But deep down, I was wrestling with fear, lack, and shame around money. Then God started challenging me—showing me scriptures I had never seen that totally flipped my understanding.
(07:12)
Dr. Tabatha: That’s so powerful. What were some of the generational beliefs you had to unlearn?
Rachel: Oh, so many. “Money is the root of all evil,” “rich people are greedy,” “you shouldn't want more.” But when I dug into the Word, I realized it’s the love of money that’s dangerous—not money itself. God delights in blessing His people so we can be a blessing.
(13:40)
Dr. Tabatha: That’s such a needed distinction. And it’s crazy how many of us carry guilt or fear when we start to prosper.
Rachel: Exactly! We think we’re doing something wrong by wanting more. But God wants our hearts aligned, not our bank accounts empty. Abundance allows us to say yes to opportunities, to generosity, to calling. And when we view money as a tool—not a master—we step into that freedom.
(25:52)
Dr. Tabatha: Let’s talk about aligning your business and your faith. How does that look practically?
Rachel: For me, it started with prayer and purpose. I asked, “God, how do you want me to build?” And He gave me a vision. From there, every decision was filtered through obedience—pricing, clients, strategy. When you get your identity from Him, the business becomes ministry.
(38:04)
Dr. Tabatha: Rachel, this has been life-giving. I know so many listeners are going to re-listen to this episode. Any final thoughts or encouragement for the woman who’s still feeling stuck in fear around money?
Rachel: Yes—don’t be afraid to revisit this. Listen again. Let it sink in. This is more than information—it’s transformation. And if you need a place to keep growing, check out my books, The Expansion Mandate and The Money Mandate. God is ready to do something new in you.
(41:00)
Dr. Tabatha: Amen. And to everyone listening, I just pray that the constraints around money are broken off you. You are allowed to want more. You are allowed to have more—so that you can do more. Money is a tool, not your identity. Let God use it through you. Rachel, thank you again for being here.
Rachel: Thank you for having me!
