SPEAKER_05

Bring that.

SPEAKER_01

Back to the podcast. Moving into our next segment. What are your thoughts on the NBA playoffs? What's your predictions?

SPEAKER_03

Who you got?

SPEAKER_04

I got pistons in OKC in the finals.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, DQ. Go ahead and tell the truth, DQ. Don't play with him, DQ. Don't play with him, DQ.

SPEAKER_02

Don't even do it to him, DQ. You gotta sit back, man. Go ahead and listen to it, DQ.

SPEAKER_01

I hope you ain't gonna say no Lakers, man. No, they're gonna say the thing that don't know what that they don't want to say. Well done on that. I wish we'd be. I did not. I didn't expect Tatum to come back looking like thank you. You see it. Y'all see it. Y'all see it.

SPEAKER_04

I got OK. Hey, them niggas some bitches. Them niggas, the pitch is gonna bully them niggas. Hell no, you heard what Stephen A said. He said he's mad.

SPEAKER_01

He said I went, I told Tatum to sit out a whole year so my next had a chance.

SPEAKER_06

Anyway, I got OKC and I'm gonna be able to do it wasn't winning shit in Boston set out the whole year. Hold on, Kyrie wouldn't have OKC coming out the West. I got OKC and Denver in the Western Conference Finals. OKC is coming out the West. I got Cleveland and I got New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Oh because the Knicks and the Boston are gonna play in the second round. Cleveland is gonna play the Pistons in the second round. Cleveland is a bad matchup for the Pistons and New York. I don't care about the regulars.

SPEAKER_04

Why do you think the Cleveland is a bad matchup for us?

SPEAKER_06

You care to say New York's the two big man, I think. Yeah, and then and then you have then you have James Harden who's a who's a who's a veteran now. He doesn't have to be the man. Donovan Mitchell is he's a dog.

SPEAKER_04

I'm better I'm betting on I'm betting on dog fucking up in the playoffs, Harden.

SPEAKER_06

You don't need to, he don't need to be the man.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_06

He is not the man. So you don't need him to go out there and give you 20 points. You have Donovan Mitchell for that.

SPEAKER_01

You need him to just be a floor general, like he likes to do. So what do Harden gotta give besides facilitating for his points? I think I think Harden can just give you 15 points and eight, nine assists, and that's fine for that team. No, not eight, nine assists, he gotta go double. He's straight because you got big men who's gonna get the assist.

SPEAKER_06

Uh Donovan Mitchell gonna get he liked to get bucket, but he can get you a few assists if needed to. If he needed to, he can.

SPEAKER_01

But I do agree that that's a bad matchup for uh Detroit, but uh I still see the defense getting it done, man. Uh Hardy's too old. Uh you got the two big men on the floor. They don't play a fast-paced basketball game, especially without Garland being there. So I think that's where they're gonna get him at. Especially, man, when you got Jenkins in there, speed the game up a little bit, man. And then with K being out, we seen what Jenkins can do. So he's gonna be in there, man. He K don't gotta do what he used to do. He don't gotta play, he don't gotta he don't gotta hold the ball for 35 minutes no more. Like he's gonna fall back a little bit. And I think that's where they're gonna get. I get what you're saying, boss, but Jenkins won't be playing in the playoffs because K coming back. His minutes go way down.

SPEAKER_06

K and Cade is now full strength. And we all know when you get to the playoffs, yeah. Cade averaged what 25 right now, 20, you know, 26. You gotta average 30 in the playoffs if you want to if you want to be great. You gotta go out there and average 34 if you want to be great and get to the next. You know what I'm saying? Because Donovan Mitchell is gonna go out there and get his buckets, and the rest of the team, I just think that's the and they've been here. You know what I'm saying? The Pistons, they lost what, second round last year? I think they lost the second round. First round. They lost in the first round last year. I'm just saying, I I'm taking Cleveland, and like I said, with New York and Boston. Yeah, Jason Tatum came back, and yeah, they're looking good. But we already seen how New York is for a master for them in the playoffs. I'm going with that side right there.

SPEAKER_01

You're trash, bro.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I don't got nothing on the trash. They thought that trash last year, too. I don't know what they was hot last year.

SPEAKER_01

The Knicks came into the playoffs hot last year. Bro, right now, bro, they they they terrible on defense, bro. Horrible. On defense, they terrible.

SPEAKER_06

The game will flow down in the playoffs, man. The game will flow down in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_04

But the game also gonna get a lot more defensive in the playoffs, too, though. That's true.

SPEAKER_01

For the uh for the West, I got Spurs and Man, I uh I hate to say it, but I got Spurs and OKC for the Western Conference. But I wanna I wanna say Spurs coming out, man. But I think the Spurs they gotta get that playoff heartbreak. You know what I mean? I think once they get that, they get that first playoff heartbreak, I think they'll be ready to go next year. And then for the East, I got I got Celtics and Cavs in the finals in the East. And I got Celtics coming out. Tatum got enough games under him versus a player like K. K K came back two games ago. Tatum got enough, uh he got enough games under him. I think he done already hit 30. He done had a triple-double already before two. So I think Celtics is more prepared for the playoffs than the Pistons is what they start playing. My nigga Jason Tatum got more double doubles than SGA this year. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm just saying, I'm just saying, my nigga only played this.

SPEAKER_06

That ain't what SGA needs to do though. Sga role is to go out here and get fucked up.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just I just I just made a point. My boy ain't played nearly as many games. That's why they the number one seed. He don't need to go get I think Cleveland's gonna scare some people though, bro. I think Cleveland really gonna scare some people this year. He's gonna scare, they're gonna scare Detroit. Jason Tatum got a rebound for his team. I don't think so. You don't think he they scared Cleveland scares Detroit?

SPEAKER_04

I don't think Cleveland scared Detroit because I think the rest, the way our roster developed, we only worried about one big. We can guard everybody else, yeah. And we can sit down on everybody else, not just guard them. We got niggas that can sit on.

SPEAKER_01

Have you seen that in the playoffs? Man, all you gotta do is bully Cleveland a little bit, man. I think they kind of soft, so they're gonna use a lot of that in the playoffs. They ain't gonna be blowing that whistle as much. Have y'all seen that in the playoffs? Get a little bully ball going there, man. Cleveland go fold. And I think that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_04

We ain't seen neither one of them in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_01

Cleveland's been there multiple years.

SPEAKER_04

Not with this roster, though, is what I'm saying. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Hey man, I got I got Denver and OKC in the Western Conference final. And I got Detroit and Boston in the East.

SPEAKER_00

Detroit.

SPEAKER_01

Who do you got? I'm kind of hesitant about picking Denver because I think that's a uh Denver a bad matchup for Minnesota. But man, I don't know what injury looking like, man. I don't I don't know if they can do it this year, man. I got my money on Denver. Who does what side of the bracket are Spurs on? Who does Spurs play? Kyrie out of them? They're gonna play Denver in the second round. They're gonna play Minnesota, oh they can be Denver, it's between whoever come whoever went between Denver and Minnesota. Which we know is gonna be Denver. Denver is gonna be Denver the third scene. So you say you know it's gonna be Denver? Denver gonna beat Minnesota with no ant, man.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Denver winning right now. Denver winning right now versus Spurs.

SPEAKER_01

Um I think Denver gonna get the Spurs, man. I think Spurs, I think the Spurs are gonna beat uh Denver though. I think Spurs gonna beat Denver, who got home court now. Spurs? Spurs Spurs, the two seed. Yeah, Spurs the two seed. Okay, we seen Denver gonna get them ass strictly off the and we just experienced and we just seen it the other day.

SPEAKER_06

When that game fucking mattered and everything was on the line, the best player in the goddamn NBA steps up and said, Hey, hey no, young dog, it's it's it's not your turn yet. You know, maybe next year.

SPEAKER_01

I'm on him. Joker said, I'm yeah, man. I think experience is gonna get him too, man. Uh uh that's a good coach over there in Denver, man. Dude took Matt Malone's spot, man. He's doing his thing, so keeping everything running. I think it's gonna be experience and coaching over there. Even though Spurs coached good as hell, too, though. I'm taking I'm taking Spurs guard play over uh over uh Denver, man. I just hey I like Castle. And don't man, Castle, bro, he's different. And the thing with Castle, bro, he played both sides of the ball. You know what I mean? He's gonna he gonna wrap some shit up for sure. I hope Castle ready for playoff Murray, man. That's gonna be a problem. And then my my concern is with the Spurs, is uh they don't let Wimby play over 30 minutes. You gotta play 35-40 in the playoffs. So is he gonna have the win? He don't play, he played 29 minutes a game, and he getting 30 points in that 29, but I wonder how long can he go. Yeah, because he's gonna have a win to go. Yeah. I think he prepared though. Can you can you go? Can can Wimby go almost close to 40 minutes through first, second, third round. And without him doing that in a regular season, I don't see it. He got to get conditioned for that. You see what Kyrie Irving did to Ant-Man a couple years ago. That shouldn't have been no problem. I don't think he's gonna be ready for it, man. He's not conditioned to go, he's not conditioned to go three rounds, six to seven games.

SPEAKER_04

Dog spent his whole offseason with the monks. Yeah, he's good.

SPEAKER_01

Good shape. He is more than mentally prepared. Man, and then boss boss you all play rough on him in that playoffs.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, boss, really 20 more pounds.

SPEAKER_01

Wimby matchup is not gonna play 40 minutes on. Joker not playing 40 minutes. So he don't he don't have to really play 40 minutes. I don't think none of his matchups is gonna play 40 minutes in the West. If you think about it. Because you go, you got you got Chet, Chet, Chet ain't playing 40 minutes. Um Oaker not playing 40 minutes. Lakers, we ain't even got a big man if we come out the uh if we come out. You know what I mean? Uh Houston ain't got a big man. I don't even think he gotta play 40 minutes, bro. He gotta play 35 plus minutes against what he playing against Minnesota or Denver. Because Minnesota, yeah, he's gonna have to play 40 minutes against Minnesota or Denver, whichever one they ran into. I'm with Boss. He's gonna have to play way more than what he's playing now.

SPEAKER_04

I think he's prepared for it.

SPEAKER_06

And he's prepared for it, I think. But aren't these other niggas prepared for it? They got so many people that's out here playing, but these other niggas is not gonna be ready when the players are. It's only one season nigga over there. That's Harrison Burns. We just said this shit about NCAA. This shit matters in the NBA too. When you've been here before and you know what the fuck it takes, these niggas don't know what it takes. Denver is a championship team. Facts. And they know what it takes. When they get out there, and it's going seven, that series is gonna go seven for sure. I don't give a fuck who got home for an advantage at seven. I really can't. And that's the thing too. You can go win when you got the best player in the world on your team.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And they do.

SPEAKER_01

That's the thing too. You get you get seven, you let's say they blow out the first round. Then you get seven in second round. Then you gotta go seven again. Like, that's a lot of wear and tear in your body. You go on seven against OKC. Uh and they might get you out of there six. Hey, them young niggas with the Spurs is ready, bro. I'm telling you. I think we have to get some buckets. And that's right. They all young niggas too. All of them. Nobody never sniffed the playoffs except for Harrison Burns. Dear and Fox playing one playoff series.

SPEAKER_06

We seen Harrison Burns shit to bed on the biggest stakes, so I'm gonna fuck about him being a bet right now. We seen you shit the bed.

SPEAKER_01

I think I think Spurs is deep, bro. I think they I think they deep and they play both sides of the ball. I'm not saying that they gonna they gonna blow people out. If they if they if they can beat Denver, they coming out the West. Because I think they gonna they gonna uh I think they go I think they're gonna fuck OKC up, bro. It's a bad matchup. I agree with that one. I hope they can beat Denver.

SPEAKER_06

We know they played a lot when Jaden Williams was hurt, you know what I'm saying? Like, I hope they play because me and you gonna bet. I got OKC.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. If but they gotta get past Denver. If they beat Denver, they're coming out the West. For sure. Man, if this person OKC, I got Spurs out of that one. It's a bad matchup for us. We can bet too.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, look though. Ant-Man can catch fire and fuck all they look they season up. That's true.

SPEAKER_01

What's up with Ant-Man injury right now? He's good to uh go game one? His team not good enough. Yeah. I don't think so. It had to be some Herculean effort, some, you know what I'm saying, some LeBron James effort, if you will.

SPEAKER_04

Shit, he got that any. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

You got Rudy Gobert complaining about getting the ball. He can't do nothing, he can't shoot for nothing.

SPEAKER_04

I'll tell Rudy Gobert, shut your bitch ass up.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, sure, and the Tony, man. Every single time Anthony Edwards drive and his four, he makes the defense collapse, and it's four motherfuckers on him. You know what he does? He shoots it. He don't make the right pass, man. He out here just gunning that bitch.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, look though, he got a hell of a percentage at that though.

SPEAKER_06

He's a bad shot maker. He is.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. Last thoughts. Who are who are our champions? Who are we picking as champions?

SPEAKER_04

Back to back. I got OKC again. I got Boston.

SPEAKER_01

Man, I'm a pissest fan, but I I gotta go OKC. I think OKC gonna win, but oh no, I got Spurs. Fuck it. I'm on Spurs.

SPEAKER_00

I got OKC, man. You disrespectful to Lakers next to saying the Spurs.

SPEAKER_01

Bro, you know I hate it. You know I hate it, but man, that that that eight foot nigga, he different, bro.

SPEAKER_00

He is different.

SPEAKER_01

I seen I seen a tween tween step back three. I was like, oh yeah, he's different, bro. He's different. One more year, man. One more year. One more year. Yeah, I'm gonna give him one more year. I'm taking OKC too. Alright, moving into our next topic. Jaden Ivy. You know, Jaden Ivy has went viral recently from being let go from the uh Chicago Bulls and his rhetorics about the LGBTQ community and how the NBA is uh branding with the community and how, you know, he's called out Steph Curry, he's called out LeBron James, he's called out different athletes and uh forums on how they operate. What are your thoughts on Jaden Ivy and his particular unique situation at this time?

SPEAKER_04

I ain't gonna cap, I love it. I love any black man waking up and living in his truth. Um I think the shit that he called out, if you fact check what he was saying, it was all accurate. It was a lot of hypocritical BS, but the only piece I'm concerned about who's around him right now, because you gotta know that going into it. You gotta know that Steph Curry gonna be able to say something you can't say. Like he's gonna get the grace before you get the grace. But the religious piece to it, I have no problem with the religious piece to it. Because it's the same as you got niggas crack completely crashing out. Look what these niggas is doing in the streets. You know what I'm saying? So he's going the opposite direction, and people still calling him a crash out, but I think he just he's been awake, his spirit has been awakened, bro. He's living in his truth.

SPEAKER_02

Facts, facts, facts.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, man, I kind of agree with uh Sam a bit too, man. I'm for with what he's saying. Uh man, I just think the only bad part about it is saying it being in the NBA. Like, if that's your job or where you work at, then you know the consequences about around that. So you can't you can't like really be mad about the ABA because that's that's their rule. So you you want to work there, you want the money. Yeah, I agree with what he's saying, man. Uh man, if you not you don't agree with Pride Month and you forced to celebrate that, I don't think they should be forced to celebrate that at all if they don't align with that. Uh just like if a player don't align with standing up for the, you know, during the ceremony of the national anthem, like if you don't align it with that, then you don't have to. So if you don't align with Pride Month, then I don't think the player should be forced to celebrate it. But I guess the only bad part about it is speaking about it to the public when you work for that company.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, boss, to your point though, boss, why do I gotta rock with that if I don't rock with that though? My other problem with the league in general, though, I feel like the NBA is like, to me, the NBA is the house niggas. Like, you don't got nobody standing for nothing in the league. To me, in the last 10 years besides him, who actually stood for something in the league? They don't talk about social issues, and I'm athletes used to speak about one person.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like Jalen Brown. He he uh stand up for a lot of social issues.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but Jalen Brown sticks to the financial piece of it. Yep. He ain't talking about recidivism rates, and he ain't talking about the shit that they doing.

SPEAKER_01

I get what you're saying though, Sam, but at the end of the day, like what Boss saying is you sign this contract, you know if you say some stuff, they're gonna get your butt up out of here. You get on, they're gonna black, they're gonna blackmail you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and I think he was willing to live. I think he knew that though. I think he was willing to accept that.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't I don't think Jaden Ivey, I don't think he was prepared for that though. I think he I again I agree with everything that he was saying because it was 100% truth into it. I just I think his delivery could have been a little bit different. Um, I didn't think that he had to get his point across by by calling out specific players, you know what I'm saying? That's my thing either. I didn't that's the only thing I didn't like. I mean, I I I think you can live in your truth. You can you could you can convey whatever message you want to convey to the world, but you don't have to do that by by calling on specific players.

SPEAKER_04

I think he was just on some that's cool when they do it, it's a problem when I do it type shit.

SPEAKER_01

Right, but at the end of the day, though, it's just like they they don't control that. The league controls how how these years.

SPEAKER_04

He should have knew the league gonna protect their bag. Right. But at the same time, think about think about how much money Ali lost when he stood up for what he believed in. They took his license to box, period, for years. So at some point in time, bro, as as a man, you gotta stand for something.

SPEAKER_01

Bro, they bro, they pick and choose, bro. They pick and choose um as far as like what they want to back, what they want to support. And I just think, man, again, Jaden Ivey, it's his truth. You know what I'm saying? I don't I don't think there there shouldn't ever be there shouldn't ever be a place where where he's getting removed from a team. If anything, offer him some help. Because I guarantee you, if that was one of the pillars of the NBA that went on this type of rant or had this mental breakdown, whatever you want to call it, they would have they would have put every resource that they had to help support that person. They would have took him away from the game from a little bit, they would have done something to help support that. But the fact that he's a low-level player, he's not a top-tier player, he called he called out top-tier players, so now he's gonna get blackballed from the league from from really just speaking his truth. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

And to be honest with you, bro, I ain't mad at him calling out top-tier players though, bro, because y'all niggas see this shit happening too, and y'all don't say nothing anyway. To me, y'all some hoes anyway, so I don't got a problem calling y'all out. Y'all some hoe ass niggas.

SPEAKER_06

What I'm gonna say about it is like what he said isn't wrong. Like y'all said, you know, you can feel however you want to feel, and what you like you say, you fact-check it, yes, it's true. But at the end of the day, everybody follows uh their own religion. So at the end of the day, we are in a world where that shit is accepted for society. You have a platform where you have to watch what you're doing, rather if you want to or not, you can't say what you want to. You can't do what you want to, you are a public figure, you represent the National Basketball Association, and you cannot say certain things. It it just is what it is, though. People want to call it bootlicking. It's not bootlicking. Hey bruh, hey Kyrie. Hold on, hold on, hold on. You are a public figure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You are a public figure, and you have to watch the certain things you say. And I can say this out of experience because I've been In a personal situation where the things I said got me into a situation where I was removed from a situation. So you are a representation of something. You are a representation of whatever team you are. And that team has the right, like, oh damn, this is how you feel. And we align with this, we're not gonna rock with you. You know what I'm saying? That that they have the right to do that, and just like you have the right to go on your social media platform and say how you feel. You know what I'm saying? But at the end of the day, there's certain things you just can't say and you can't do because you are a public figure. That's just facts of the situation, bro. You know what I'm saying? That you have to, you have to, you have to affirm. You ain't gotta align with it and believe in it. You don't.

SPEAKER_01

You don't if you want to work for a company, you have to follow the code of conduct.

SPEAKER_04

For me, if you want to work there, I I completely agree with that. Yeah. But to me, these niggas care more about money than they care about having decorum and morals about themselves. That's why we don't have no Jim Browns, we don't have no Muhammad Ali's, you don't have no um um Hershaw Walkers, niggas that was speaking out against the system because everybody worried about money instead of being standing for their principles. That's why they bootlick. House niggas at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_03

Time out, timeout, time out.

SPEAKER_02

I'm with you bootlicking.

SPEAKER_03

I'm with you, I wish, but you letting the bootlickiness of all the bootlickiness.

SPEAKER_01

I agree with you on that one though, man. We were talking about stand-up guys in sports, period, no more.

SPEAKER_04

They care more about their money than they care about standing on business for the community.

SPEAKER_06

We're talking about a man talking about a human being sexuality. You feel me? There are people in the NBA who are gay, and he's just probably on his team. So you can't be whatever that man does, you feel me?

SPEAKER_01

That is what they do. That has nothing to do with you. Do y'all think he uh, you know, people think that he's mentally ill. Do y'all think he's mentally ill? He just really just speaking his truth. So that's what I want to speak to. I want to go last. So y'all get y'all point, so I'm gonna go live.

SPEAKER_04

Why is that a question, though, boss? Why would niggas my what why would niggas' third eye open up? They they gotta be mental.

SPEAKER_01

That hey, I agree with J and I be saying that's just the talks, and I don't that's always their first go-to when people they say he's crashing out or whatever. I think he's just speaking with his troop. That's how he grew up, believing.

SPEAKER_04

At the end of the day, for me, regardless of how much money you're making, a man gotta stand for something at the end of the day. Or you ain't no man.

SPEAKER_06

You could stand for that, but you did not have to go on your social media platform and go on a 45-50-minute rant.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I wouldn't call that attention seeking. So, for me, right, I have two thoughts on this. And one of my thoughts, I'm kinda like I haven't figured out how I want to present this because it's one of those things, like, where you know how like as black people, there's certain stuff we just don't say in front of white people because they don't understand. You know what I'm saying? They'll take it out of context. You know what I'm saying? So, but my first thought is that the NBA has like had rapers, pedophiles, all type of uh, you know what I'm saying? Like, I just found out about um what's the what's the old point guard used to play for the Phoenix Suns back in the day? Kevin Johnson Kevin Johnson got like a uh where he slept with like a 15-year-old girl and he paid her off, and the NBA just swept that under the rug. You know what I'm saying? Like I never heard of that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, what's the dog name from OKC? The white boy they traded from OKC to Chicago.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying? Um parents said it didn't happen. Yeah. Uh but the Carmelone thing happened. It was true, man. They didn't know about Car Malone.

SPEAKER_06

We can only speak about the facts. We can't push it on people.

SPEAKER_01

That baby that came from Carmelone sleeping with like the 12, 13 year old or whatever, um, that that baby is like in the NFL now. You know what I'm saying? So like these things have happened in the in the NBA, and they they swept it under the rug. So I on that front, I don't agree with the NBA. And like, yeah, they did fire the GM and the um I forgot Player Association, they fired those two people, but like I don't feel like he should have lost his his uh his opportunity to play in the NBA because of that, you know what I'm saying? Now as a Christian, and y'all know like how I've been on my walk these last few years, I don't disagree with how he's presenting uh Christianity for standing up for what's in the Bible, but along with that, and this is what I was talking about the reason Jesus destroyed Sodom and Grimoire, bro. You know what I'm saying? Along with that, see, but stuff like that is like out of context. The the reason why it happened, like there's more to it than just that part, right? So the thing about spreading the word of God is like um Proverbs, I think it tells you to like begin with gaining wisdom before you spread the word of God. And Romans talks, Peter talks about uh it's great to be zealous, to have zeal when you're when you're out spreading the word of God, but you need wisdom to be spreading the word of God. Everybody is not called to be a pastor. That is not everybody's role. Being a pastor should be in this world, should be, you should be anointed to become a pastor to spread God's word. You shouldn't be spreading your own ideas.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, hell no, nigga, it's niggas.

SPEAKER_01

I I I know, that's what I'm saying. You should be anointed, like you should be called from God to be a pastor. You know what I'm saying? But everybody's job is to be spreading the word of Jesus, right? And so I think he's giving off energy, and then I look this up like he's not like a new Christian, but the energy that he's giving off all of a sudden is like a new Christian, like everybody's going to hell. You're you're evil. You know what I'm saying? Or is he giving off, I've bite my tongue for long enough, I can't do it no more. And and and that could be the case, but that's why I'm saying that the zeal that he's coming with has to be done with wisdom. I don't have a problem with him calling out things that are evil in the world. What I have a problem with him is calling out proclaimed Christians where you don't know their fruit. You don't you you calling out Steph Curry, but Steph Curry is probably the one of the only athletes that wears his uh religion on his sleeve in the NBA. I don't agree.

SPEAKER_04

I don't agree with But if you're wearing your religion on your sleeve, but you're voiceless about the topic, what do that mean?

SPEAKER_01

But that's the thing. You don't have to be a uh in this world in the world, you think you don't know what you don't know Steph Curry's fruit. Just because Steph Curry's fruit isn't reaching in public eye, you don't know what Steph Curry is doing in his community, you don't know what he's doing in his local church, you don't know how he's helping his community. You can only judge people, the Bible talks about judging people by their fruit. You can't judge anyone if you don't know their fruit. You don't know, you don't know how their impact in Christianity is impacting the masses. You don't know how they're spreading the world and bringing people to Christ. So him calling people out like that, I just don't think it's I don't think he has wisdom yet in what he's doing. Not that he's he's doing it wrong, I just don't think the wisdom piece is there in how he's doing it. That that's my opinion on his situation right now. And I and as an as a believer, you gotta know like when you come to God, it isn't fairies and rainbows. When you come to God, you it's time to get tested. Like that that struggle, that hardship, that fire is gonna get put on you. And you gotta you gotta be ten toes down for God when when stuff is going bad and stuff is going good. Because like new believers think like and I'm not saying he's a new believer because I don't believe that, because I think he went to like a Catholic school. So I I and I'll listen to what he says. He's very knowledgeable about the Bible, but as a believer, you have to know like you have to give grace to people who aren't where you are in this moment. It's not your job to cast people down and tell them they're going to hell or they're the devil or whatever or where that's coming from. That's not the heart of Jesus. There's a certain way to hold people accountable as well as bringing fruit to them to grasp the word of God. And I think that's where he's he's not.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but at the same time, though, he we all fall short of his grace every single day, though.

SPEAKER_01

But that's what I'm saying. That's why I think he's forgetting. He's forgetting like that just because just because we're we're sinners, right? We're all sinners, right? If you believe in God, you believe that you're a sinner. Just because you're saying the word of God doesn't mean that you're saying it in the right tone, in the right manner, you know what I'm saying? Because we're sinners, you know what I'm saying? Just because you're saying it, uh you're spread talking about God doesn't mean you're saying it in the right way or you're presenting it in the right way. And to say that I'm not presenting it in the wrong way is pride. You know what I'm saying? Like everyone is far short of glory.

SPEAKER_04

I just feel like niggas in the NBA are religious when it fits the narrative what they got going on. When it don't fit the narrative, they silent. In this day and age, I think blacks in professional sports are weaker than they ever been in the history of blacks in professional sports. We've always had guys stood up for what was right. Regardless of what it cost them financially at the end of the day. What's the biggest difference? What do you feel like changed with that?

SPEAKER_01

Money. We're making more money than the money. I think as big as his house niggas, man. You you they they making more money, bro. They have in their eyes, they have a lot more to lose. But not only that, though.

SPEAKER_04

I think knowledge itself is a big part of it too.

SPEAKER_01

No, I think that's the way that's not. They don't have the knowledge of self. Yeah, I think I think that's part of it as well. But but again, I think these big corporations were blackballing the Muhammadalies of the world back then for speaking up on certain things because, in a sense, they needed that. They trying to black, they will literally blackball you for anything that you say that's against the grain. You know what I'm saying? But at the end of the day, when it comes to any type of black issues, none of these people, none of these owners, they don't even bat an eye when it comes to certain things like that. But when it comes to gay communities, I don't want I don't want to be disrespectful. It's like, okay, that's when we draw the line. You know what I mean? So I think the same grace that we don't give a Jaden Ivy versus a Stephen Curry, maybe he knows something that we don't know. You know what I'm saying? I think I I don't think I don't think none of us have the evidence to to back either side of this. I'd again. Again, that's the thing though. You can't you can't know someone's fruit. You might not even know someone's fruit until they die. Even after they die, you still don't know their fruit. It's only God can. I was about to say, only God can be able to do that.

SPEAKER_04

You could be praying, you can you can be praying every you can be praying every night. You could be saying whatever you want to say. But if I'm hanging out with you and everything you doing is against what you telling me that you're doing, I know your fruit, bruh. You ain't standing on business.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe we're not giving him the same grace that we would give somebody a top-tier athlete. I have grace for him. I'm not saying that he's doing anything wrong. I'm just saying that some of what he's doing is seems like it's lacking wisdom.

SPEAKER_04

It ain't your pencil, it's how you write your name. It's how he's doing it. He's writing his name wrong right now.

SPEAKER_01

For sure. And I and I agree with that. I again, I think the way he's trying to convey his message, I think, I think it's wrong. Um, he's very knowledgeable. Um, I think we can just look at small things just by looking them up. You know what I'm saying? His mom is the Notre Dame head coach. So I think I think as far as just having having that base and that foundation of knowledge, I think he I think he has that. I don't think that's a question. I think the way he's going about delivering that message, again, by calling off specific players, unless he has a specific reason. Unless there are certain things that he's seen that he's been witnessed to to be able to speak. But again, none of us none of us know that. Even in that, though, even in that DQ, it tells you to not to call them out publicly. Like, you need to go get another believer and call them out to his face. It's not his job to call them out publicly. The Bible even tells you, like, if your brother sins, go get another believer and confront him face to face. And then if he sins again and then confront him to the church, it's not. I agree. I uh again. Was he really bringing it out, DQ? Him him calling people out is dead wrong. I don't agree with that at all.

SPEAKER_04

Like, but they was he calling them out in the sense of that, or was he calling them out like dog just did this, and now that I'm doing it, it's a big deal. He didn't have any evidence to support that.

SPEAKER_01

He's just saying that they're not real Christians. Yeah, he just he just called them out, saying they're not real Christians, they don't believe in God. They're not real, or this nigga's problem.

SPEAKER_06

They don't got another nigga's name in their mouth.

SPEAKER_01

Shut the fuck up.

SPEAKER_06

All right, we're talking about Jesus, and you you just kind of went left with he got other niggas' name in his mouth. Stop stop talking about them niggas. You ain't them. Like, we talk about how you feel, talk about how you feel. Don't talk about that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I ain't speaking on another man like the in that light anyway.

SPEAKER_06

Talk about real shit. Like, you can't pre you can't push religion, bro. You know, you're not you can't. You're not the one.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know, like he said. We don't know what his fruit is telling him right now.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying? So I just think that like if you wanted to call out Steph Curry, you do that to Steph Curry. You don't do that publicly like that. Because you don't know who's following Steph Curry. Now they're believing Steph Curry is you know, the devil, and now they don't believe in God anymore because they've been following Steph Curry this whole time because they admire and look up to him so so much. Like the worst thing you can do as a believer, as a father of Christ, is to lead someone else away from Christ because of you trying to chastise somebody else about Christ. Only only thing I can say is that if you around certain people, you know for I ain't gonna say you know for a fact, but you you get a you get a good idea if they're a believer. So again, he's probably saying some of these things, he's probably winning something that we just don't know. You know what I mean? So it's just like even if that's the case, I I don't I don't agree, I don't agree with him calling nobody out. No, you shouldn't do that. And I think again, his message, he had the good, he had he had the right message, but I think when it came to him calling specific people out and telling them that they're not Christians and that and that anything that they doing, you know what I'm saying? It's just like no, I think I think he crossed the line when it came when he came to that. Now there is there is a part in the Bible where like it talks about like calling out false prophets, you know what I'm saying, so they can't lead other people astray. Like so it just depends on if if what you're if what he's saying is credible or whatever for whatever reason. He could be completely right in ten years. We come out, Steph Curry is the devil, he parted the Epstein, whatever. Who knows? You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_04

But you also gotta make sure that his mental health in check, too, though, because he's been through a lot with injuries the last couple seasons. For sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's been through in the country. But that could be playing a part in it. It definitely could.

SPEAKER_04

And there's been a Sometimes your faith, sometimes your faith all you got to get through.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But I also don't think you should be calling out, you shouldn't be calling out to your employer. Talking about why do we have Pride Month and the NBA and shit like that? You shouldn't be calling out your employer unless you're ready for your employer to take shit in their own hand.

SPEAKER_04

And I think I don't think it's no way that his mom is who she is and he's been where he's been, and they didn't know that. I think they was willing, they accepted that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hear what you're saying, yeah. I I hear, I can, I guess, Kyrie, like if you really feel like this, quit. You know what I'm saying? If you really still go ahead and retire. Go ahead and retire. I mean, you gotta think about it though. I mean, think about what Kaepernick did. You gotta think about everything. When Kaepernick stuck up and spoke up about what he believed, he got blackballed out. J. Niger, you did the same thing. Yeah. I gotta think about stuff in the past that's what's been going on. They're not they're not letting us speak out like that no more. Facts, facts, facts. I hear what you're saying, yeah. But like, I just hope that I don't think he has a mental problem. I just think he's just on fire for God. There are have been some instances where like that's kind of off. Like he was on a plane, you know, yelling at the camera on the plane in front of where other people around him. Like, that's kind of off behavior. You know what I'm saying? So if something is awry with him, you know, I hope he gets the help that he needs. But I just think like he's on fire for God. And he's trying, and he's like trying to figure it out right now. You know what I'm saying? So I hope, I hope he I hope he figures it out. And I also believe that whatever happens in your life, good or bad, God'll take it and make it better with for you. So this could lead him to being, you know, being a pastor and bringing you know millions to Christ. So his cup could start running over. You know what I'm saying? So I believe I believe that. Whatever bad happens in your life, God can take it, make it for good.

SPEAKER_06

In 10 years, we might be looking, oh, Danny's a pastor. This might be his calling. And that may be, you know what I'm saying? Which will now be like, cool, we didn't care about basketball, and that's okay as well.

SPEAKER_01

This might be his sacrifice. So I was talking about how you gotta go through the fire. This might be his sacrifice.

SPEAKER_06

For sure. And that that's that that could be possible, but in the moment, we don't know that.

Look, Brock was like, I don't know how we're gonna tell mom. I was like, uh, look, that's your company, you go ahead. Man, it was froze too, Canadian bacon, bro. I remember that day.

SPEAKER_03

They house got like a lot of food in the refrigerator.

SPEAKER_02

But you can't access it, but but you can't, you know what I'm saying? They got a they got a fridge full of food.

SPEAKER_06

The kitchen closed at a certain time of day. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you go in there, you just hear you hear Tim come around the corner, like, what y'all doing? I mean, we can just water, man.

SPEAKER_03

They not cooking. I'm like, they just they don't know how to cook. You know, I don't know how to cook, it's fine. You know what I'm saying? I'm thinking that's the problem. Like, they presented it like we don't know how to cook, so we can't cook nothing. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, oh yeah, that's no problem.

SPEAKER_01

We didn't have to cook fam. My mom and dad was cooking. Yeah, I remember that. I think I got in trouble for that. Yeah, and then another one. Look, man. I don't think I got a whooping, though. I don't think he whooped. No, you didn't. No. Another one was when I ain't gonna lie. His mom and dad was whooping you? Not Miss Reynolds, but Mr. Reynolds, yeah. If I did something on the line, he for sure, yeah, give me a whooping. Yeah, my dad was whooping. My dad was whooping anybody came to the house. What you mean?

SPEAKER_04

How would nigga, you bigger than whooping you?

SPEAKER_03

We wasn't bigger than him at this time. He scored the shit out of you. Yeah, we was kids. This wasn't like high school or nothing.

SPEAKER_01

We was kids. Another one was I ain't even, it wasn't even at my house, but I gotta tell this story. It was at Kyrie's house, his birthday party. We playing around. His cousin goes to sleep. This nigga Kyrie puts flowers at his nose. This nigga snorts it up. We can't get it out. This nigga sleep. We panicking. Now we up like, damn, this nigga gonna live. We young too. Young as a bitch. I'm nervous as hell. Kyrie put the and then he done sniffed it all the way up. We can't even see it no more.

SPEAKER_02

Damn.

SPEAKER_01

We all panicking and shit, waiting for it. We all standing over him and shit. He would have woke up. He would have he would have turned it.

SPEAKER_06

You know what's crazy, bro? Because I was gonna tell that story.

SPEAKER_01

You told my story, so bro, I won't ever forget that story, bro. I won't ever forget that story.

SPEAKER_06

I was with my cousin probably like this was probably like a month or two ago, like two months ago. And he he mentioned that we've been talking about that shit. Young niggas said, man, yeah, y'all niggas, uh yeah, motherfucking. I was at Kyrie House and shit, all this homeboys and shit. I almost killed that shit. Hey man, hey, that's crazy. You remember that shit. I'm like, I remember it, but I know you remember that shit. I was nervous.

SPEAKER_01

I thought we I thought it would kill somebody.

SPEAKER_06

It was some little like little plastic flower little.

SPEAKER_01

It was plastic too, y'all. Oh, it wasn't even a real flower.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god.

SPEAKER_06

Oh y'all tripping, man. We said, hey, I swear to God, I swear to God, when that shit happened, the motherfuckers just went up there. Everybody just lay down like, oh shit. Like, oh my god, I'll be good in the morning.

SPEAKER_03

Did it come? What happened?

SPEAKER_06

We don't know. We'll never see it again. We all went on about our lives. And this is the first time it's been brought up.

SPEAKER_04

That nigga probably still having issues behind that scene. We like, I think we like 12 because we was the same age, me and my god brother. We both like 12. We at my mom's house. My mom got a fat ass fit for uh Seagram's gin on the um table in the dining room. Me and this nigga come up with this bright idea. They gone. We about to drink all this shit. Not drink a little bit, we gonna drink all of it. Hey bro, we drank all of that shit straight, my nigga. Oh and then filled the uh filled the bottle back up with water.

SPEAKER_05

Hey bruh.

SPEAKER_04

Hey bruh, they ain't even have to ask, nigga. It was so much throw-up all over the house when they walked in the creek. Hey bruh, I thought I was gonna die, bro. I was dry even. Yellow shit was coming out of my mouth at the end. Oh man. Hey man, I ain't never looked. That's the night though. Look, that night though, they tried to come with the belts. I got to grabbing them bitches. Hell no. I remember I told my mama, my mama's like, this shit don't hurt me no more. I'm a no-linking soldier. Hey, she fired on my ass, gave me a black eye, closed my shit.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, that's hey, damn, that's crazy. Because when I told my dad that shit didn't hurt, that nigga hit me in the ribs and I couldn't talk for five minutes. And I was in there crying, nigga. Rather get the belt.

SPEAKER_04

Look, I grabbed the belt. You know a nigga's arm's long too. My mom's short as hell. She ain't had no motion after I grabbed that belt. And you know, when she felt like she wasn't in control no more, she got super pissed off.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. You had to start firing on your ass.

SPEAKER_04

Hey bro, I'm still to this day never threw up that much in my life, and that's why if a nigga opened some gin up around me, nigga, my stomach could get queasy.

SPEAKER_03

Fad to get too PTSD.

SPEAKER_04

Bad PTSD from that gin maybe.

SPEAKER_02

Damn.

SPEAKER_01

Shit, my my shit ain't that funny, man. I um this was shit, this was a few years ago. This is a little bit before I had moved to Texas, man. But so my boy, we all know who my who my who uh who I'm talking about, but my boy, man, he um he was getting married or whatever. And then he had rapids. Niggas already laughing, niggas know what's going on. But he uh he was in Grand Rapids or whatever. He was like, man, bro, I ain't trying to stay at the crib the night before my wedding, so let me come to K zoo. I'll stay over there. He says, Is it cool for me and a couple of my cousins come? I'm like, that's cool, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

Yo, already wrong though, because you know what him and his cousins did at the bachelor party, but I'ma let you leave. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And look, I'm trying to get niggas grace, bro. I'm trying to, you know what I mean? So look, he comes down here, whatever. We're not going out or nothing. It's the night before dog wedding. So we just chilling, you know what I'm saying? We ended up going to uh to like a little restaurant, had a couple drinks, you know what I'm saying, just trying to mentally get unprepared to get married the next day. So we ended up going back to my crib. Uh I'm like, you know what I'm saying, y'all can sleep on the couch, it's another room, niggas can sleep on the floor, whatever y'all gonna do. And then tomorrow morning, we're gonna drive the Grand Rapids for the uh get prepared for the wedding. So I go to my room, I'm going to sleep. Them niggas, one nigga laying on the couch, another nigga on the floor, whatever. I close my door, I'm asleep. So like I say probably like four o'clock in the morning, bro. I feel a nigga in my bed. I feel somebody in my bed, bro. Keep in mind, I ain't had like they the only people there. Like, I ain't had no girl there, nobody. I wanna live where I'm listening. Bro, I feel a nigga like kicking, bro. Bro, again, so I'm looking like I'm like, man, I know I ain't tripping. So I like I'm like kicking. I feel like a nigga laying across like the foot of my bed. It's man, it's it's dog cousin. I was like, bro, what the fuck? Man, so I kicked this nigga. I'm like, nigga, what the fuck you doing, bro? He uh oh I'm I don't know what's going on, I don't know what's going on. I'm like, bro, you gotta get the fuck up out of here, dog. So and the whole time I'm like, damn, like I really want to beat dog ass. You know what I mean? Like, I want to beat dog ass, but he he he he and my boy wedding, you know what I'm saying? It's the night before this nigga wedding. I'm like, damn, like do I do I go crazy on dog right now, or do I just try to just go to sleep and then tell tell uh bro about it the next morning. So I'm just like, you know what, man, I ain't about to I ain't even about to start all this shit up because it's like four o'clock in the morning. We gotta hop on the road by like nine. I'm like, man, I I'll just holler at my hollering about it in the morning. So I go to sleep or whatever. So we can't drink it. Yeah, yeah, nigga, yeah. But we want, we want, I mean, we want smack like that, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

He wandered into the bedroom.

SPEAKER_04

That nigga hang his clothes up so neat.

SPEAKER_03

So clean. You know, you know what's the oh what it what's it called? OCD, DQ got OCD, so everything is clean, neat.

SPEAKER_01

Them clothes was neat. He said he gotta be. That ain't even the worst part though. That ain't even the worst part though. So look, the next morning, I go to the closet, bro. I go to the closet, get ready to uh pack the car so we can hop on the road. Tell me why this nigga pissed in my closet, bro. Oh, he was faded. Bro, this nigga pissed in my closet, bro. So many so yeah, so that happened. I remember this story too, man. We went out the box, bro. Yeah. Oh, so you already know I'm on tip after that, bro. I'm on tip in the closet. Bro, in the closet, bro. Hey man, where day like a dog by the back of his neck with a grab deep.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, where dogs be getting them little tape down?

SPEAKER_01

You know when your dog pissed on the floor, yep, you go. Yeah, so man, I had I had I had to take off on dog, man. So I'm like, oh man, I I gave you a pass, you know what I'm saying, like coming to my bed type shit. But the next day, man, I had to take off on dog. That's all crazy. You get in called, yeah. You got to take the bath for coming to my bed.

SPEAKER_02

That's all crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's all crazy. Hey bro, hey bro.

SPEAKER_01

Hey bro, I get it though. Like, I he bro our bro is getting married, bro. And it's it's literally the next and the wedding was nice, like everything planned out. They spent their money. Like, I get him not trying to like I would have choked him out, he messed this up before the day.

SPEAKER_04

I had to, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I had to take off on him. I had to. Oh, you scraped him up the next day? What? In the morning.

SPEAKER_04

In the morning, and uh dog had to he had to uh he had to put him on the he a stupid motherfucker. Hey, dog's stupid though, because I would have got the fuck on from around you.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, bro, man, but you talking about hot, bro.

SPEAKER_04

A nigga like me, I'd be like, all right, y'all, I gotta work tomorrow. I get what you bro.

SPEAKER_01

You talking about, and then bro, I'm I'm the best man in this nigga wedding too, so it's like I'm like, damn, bro. That's what this shit come with, bro. I'm straight, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm straight, bro. Yeah, that shit had me hot, bro. Man, no, you ever just had people who just kind of just overstayed a uh visit at the crib, man? It could be, you know what I'm saying? I used to like smoke, cause some back in the day we could be matching. And you know, that should be like a little couple hours, and that's the you know, like, man, we on four to five hours, people don't want to leave. You giving all kind of signs, you yawning.

SPEAKER_04

You gotta act like he's going on his way to work, damn near gotta leave the house.

SPEAKER_01

Bro, almost gotta leave the crib, man. So, man, I just hate shit like that, man, where people just overstay their welcome so much, man. Facts, facts, facts. So for me, uh, shout out to my cousin. It's kind of like what we have with Brandon, but his stuff was way worse. So my cousin can't stay tonight, right? We ate the night before. I cooked. We ate. You know what I'm saying? Maybe I might make spaghetti or something. I don't know. I was really cooking in high school. We ate the night before.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm asleep, me and my brothers, we all asleep. I hear some smoking. Like something smoking.

SPEAKER_01

And I hear my mom yell downstairs, Ernest, get up here right now. And I'm like, oh shit, what happened? You know what I'm saying? I'm dead asleep. I get upstairs and when I tell y'all, this shit looked like something out of a movie. It was pancake mix on the floor, on the stove, on the refrigerator, on the on the sink with the dishes was piled up. Freaking, uh he had just got done cooking the pancakes and eggs.
