SPEAKER_03

Yes, this is the Copacetic Hour. Copacetic is a term meaning everything is fine, cool, and in excellent order. This podcast is an area for open discussion, but not for the weak hearted nor the simple-minded. And although we may not always agree, we will always exemplify respect. But at the same time, nobody, and I do mean nobody, is exempt from getting these jokes. Everything is copacetic. Yes, the copacetic, how's everybody doing today? That's what's up. That's what's up. That's what's suck. So today's Why Don't You Chill Icebreaker is name a movie that's not educational that you actually took and learned from. That's a comedic movie.

SPEAKER_07

It's your boy Kai Man. Always good to be back. Appreciate you having me. Um, I really thought long and hard about this one. I was I was stuck for a minute, man. You know, I almost had you switch it, but you know, I had to go with uh Friday.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, what you learned from Friday.

SPEAKER_07

Always pay niggas money. Niggas about to get killed for $200. Yeah, like always pay a nigga's money, man. Like, you know what I'm saying? Don't be having no debts in this world, especially with niggas on the street. Always pay niggas money, dog. That is funny.

SPEAKER_02

Facts.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Facts.

SPEAKER_06

What's good, world man? It's DQ. Hey, um, Kyrie, bro, you dog, you really took my movie, dog.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, it's crazy because we would I'm glad I went first, too, because we we we would both stop. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

We ain't no, man.

SPEAKER_07

Maybe you got a different lesson, though. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

Right, right. I knew that this was gonna be, I knew Friday was probably gonna be one of the popular ones, so I did have a set a backup, but mine would be the wood.

SPEAKER_03

Damn, that was mine.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, it's a couple, it was a couple things in there.

SPEAKER_05

See, I knew somebody was gonna pick those. There's a lot of them in that one.

SPEAKER_06

That's a good one right there. Yeah, facts. Mine was the wood, man. I think for me it was a couple things in there, man. Um, as far as just like that. Like, even though you have like that brotherhood with somebody, it's okay to kind of, you know what I'm saying, bitch rough, um, you know, move in, whether that's a career, family, anything like that. But still being able to maintain that brotherhood and that bond. You know what I mean? So I think a lot of people, they they transition to life and they just forget about their past. But I think the wood kind of showcased like you still can kind of have that brotherhood and that bond with people that you grew up with. Um, and then my second lesson in the wood was suck, never too. So that was that was some shit that boy got knowledge.

SPEAKER_02

That boy got knowledge.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, hey, man, if you know, you know.

SPEAKER_07

Bro, I already knew somebody was gonna use the word. I thought it was gonna be DQ. I thought it was gonna be DQ, though.

SPEAKER_06

And I swear I was gonna say suck.

SPEAKER_04

I have Friday about paying back, bro.

SPEAKER_06

Man, look. Hey, nigga's their money, bro.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, nigga, they money, bro.

SPEAKER_06

Almost died for $200, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Not even his $200, his man's $200. He was ready to go to war about $200 is crazy, too. He shooting at Cribs, everything. Other than that, mama, mama Cribs.

SPEAKER_07

Nigga, I'm probably gonna use some Reggie, nigga. I need that.

SPEAKER_03

In the 90s, 200 might have been like 800.

SPEAKER_05

That was not Reggie, man. They was over there in Cali. They ain't doing Reggie over there. That's probably where he was ready to go there.

SPEAKER_06

200, 200, crazy. A nigga spent that on food in a couple days, bro. That's crazy, man. That was 95, though.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'm saying. 95 might have been like 800,900 back then. You know what I'm saying? 200 might have been that much.

SPEAKER_05

What's going on, y'all? This boss, man. Uh, I got one for y'all. I hope y'all seen it because y'all named some movies that you know we all probably grew up watching. But have y'all seen a movie called Click with Adam Sadler?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, man. I was just watching that with the kids uh a couple weeks ago, man. That one right there got some gems in it. Uh just like slow down in life. Like everything, like with him using a remote, he was speeding everything up, missing all the good moments in life, and not enjoying no moments. And before you know it, you know what I'm saying, using that remote, kind of sped everything up with him. And uh yeah, man, it just taught you to enjoy the moment, man. Family time, even if it's just, you know, dinner or even like the boring things that you do, like with your kids or with your family and stuff like that, man. Just enjoy every moment. Because before you know it, man, we all growing up, kids growing up, everybody got the career, man. So enjoy those moments. A good one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's a real yo, and I am your host, five. We want to thank everybody for coming out for the show. Um, keeping our thing going. We want to shout out to our new location, shout out to Gainesville, Florida, shout out to Evanston, Illinois, shout out to We Hawkin, New Jersey, and shout out to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. We appreciate you, we love you, and keep promoting the Cobra Santa Gar podcast. Um, for me, I was gonna use the wood because like my whole like, I have a thing about being like the fat dude that's clean, that smell good. So like the wood just had me like everywhere I go, anytime I go somewhere, I gotta be smelling good, gotta be clean. So that suck never chew. I still do that with tic-tacks or all toids, you know what I'm saying? Gum, you know what I'm saying? I still do that to this day. But if I to pick my own movie, kind of like uh somewhere with boss is saying, I would pick bait or Jamie Foxx. I don't know if y'all seen bait. But bait taught me like everybody can't go. Some some people you they just they are who they are, and they always gonna be who they are. And you can you can love them for who they are, but everybody can't, everybody not going the same path you going. And sometimes you just gotta leave people where they at. Don't mean you gotta like diss them or you know, not associate yourself with them, but sometimes you like, hey, you say what's up, and then you be what out, you gotta be out, because this ain't you ain't on what they on no more. So I would say bait. Bait is a funny movie that that taught me a life lesson, especially like as I left my city and went on to do different things for sure. 100%. Alright, so we back with another sports podcast. We're just gonna jump right into the first thing. Just give me one second while I pull this up for us. I just want to play play something for everybody. You know what I'm saying? Just give me one second. Last thoughts. Who are who are our champions? Who are we picking as champions?

SPEAKER_06

Back to back. I got OKC again. I got Boston.

SPEAKER_05

Man, I'm a piss this fan, but I I gotta go OKC.

SPEAKER_06

I think OKC gonna win, but oh no, I got Spurs. Fuck it. I'm going Spurs.

SPEAKER_07

I got OKC, man. You disrespectful to Lakers next to saying the Spurs.

SPEAKER_06

Bro, you know I hate it. You know I hate it, but man, that that that eight-foot nigga, he different, bro.

SPEAKER_05

He is different.

SPEAKER_06

I seen I seen a Tween Tween step back three. I was like, oh yeah, he's different, bro.

SPEAKER_05

He's different. Give him one more year, man. One more year.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, sir. Alright, so he could without one.

SPEAKER_03

As y'all, as y'all heard only one person on the show has these our expertise for the Kovisekar sports crew. The expertise. Only one person picked the right team coming out of West. Nobody picked the right team coming out the East. Nobody picked the Knicks. We was all wrong. So Kyrie picked New York. Oh, oh, Kyrie, you picked New York? Yeah, Kyrie picked the Knicks then. So both of them was right, you know what I'm saying, on one side of it. But give me your thoughts.

SPEAKER_07

I had the Eastern Conference Finals, right? I had the Knicks in the Cavs. Yeah, you remember that?

SPEAKER_03

I definitely remember, give me your thoughts. What uh how did we get to this point? How did the champions lose? How did how's Wimby ascending? Is he like the number one player? Should he have won the MVP? Give me your thoughts.

SPEAKER_07

I don't think he should have won MVP. Um I do think if he does go and win, he has his case as the best player in the league. It won't be clear-cut, but he definitely has his case. And we do gotta put him in the top three. I think so. Um, but I also think that injuries played a big part of this series, too. You know, he Shay didn't have his second guy. And I mean, even a key bench player, you know, he he he had to he got hurt. I mean, I can't remember what game it was, but I mean, but still the Spurs played great. You know, Wimby is who we thought he was. He's him, you know what I'm saying? And this is just the beginning, like it's gonna get worse, you know what I'm saying? Like, they are a young team. Um, I think that's what actually pushed it to seven for real, because they are a young team, especially with Javen Williams being out. Yeah, you know, but I mean it's two teams in the finals, they ain't never been there before. So experience is not really uh a theme right now with this NBA Finals. Because nobody has experience but Harrison Barnes. OG got a ring. OG OG too, for sure. You know what I'm saying? With even then that them one players that's not like players that can take over. I mean, OG, OG tough for sure. Yeah, he he's not gonna be the guy that leads you to, you know, it it'll be on Brunson's show.

SPEAKER_08

Facts.

SPEAKER_06

Um I agree with you, man. I think I think Wimby for sure has solidified himself as being a um top three player in the uh NBA. I don't think that he should have won an MVP. I think he's still maybe a year away from MVP. But I do um respect the fact that he's making voters uh for these awards to like look at defense now. You know what I mean? I think we shied away from um defensive efforts in the NBA, especially when it comes down to awards, um, outside of defensive player of the year, right? So we um we put so much focus upon who can score 35 points. So we talk about the Lucas and we talk about some of you know the shades, but at the end of the day, a lot of those people that we talk about that are leading the league and scoring their liability on defense. Yeah. So I think Wimby, Wimby is showing that, you know, like it's important to play defense. And I he's not only talking it, he's showing it. You know what I mean? So I think he has solidified himself as a top three player in the league. And one thing that I do appreciate about Wimby that I have been seeing in these playoffs is that he for him to be a young player, we're talking about a kid that's 22 years old, he's not running away from the from the moment. You know what I mean? And I think I think his breakout moments when he came down and shot that three to take it to overtime, like this is somebody six, five, I mean seven, five, seven, six. He's coming down court, time, time is clicking, and he pulled up from way beyond three, pop that, popped the three to send a game to overtime, but then eventually end up winning a game in overtime. So it's like to see a kid like that who's never been part of the part of those type of playoff moments to walk into it and embrace it. You know what I mean? And I know, not even trying to like compare, but I know we we we criticize people like LeBron for passing the ball and moments like that. We criticize for Kobe for taking bad shots in moments like that. You know what I'm saying? But it's like we talk about a kid who's 22 years old, who's never been in the playoffs, and he's walking into these moments versus the defending champs. I think he he's definitely put the league on notice, and I think that we're gonna start to see a lot of GMs build a roster on how to defend Wimby going forward.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I definitely agree with you on that one. Man, I think that's gonna be the new wave. Like, are we gonna stop Wimby? Because it seems like everybody else is better than their team on OKC last year. Now it's something new. Who gonna start Wimby? But uh but to the question though, yeah, I do think he uh put a stamp on making himself a top three player in the NBA right now uh on offense and defense. And I think that's his I think that's the biggest thing with him, it's that uh it's that defense factor because uh all of like the MVPs who've been coming out lately don't really get busy on the defensive end of the ball. Uh Jokic, you know, he really don't play too much defense. Shea, he he does a little bit. He be up there with stills, at least what top 20, so top 10 is stills or something. So that's I think that's good.

SPEAKER_07

But man, I want to say, hold on, I want to cut you off, but I think the last MVP to be on like all NBA first team is probably Giannis. Yeah, yep. You feel me? Like I think Shay was second team. I think Shea was second team, but I think Giannis was the last one, and before him, maybe LeBron. If you think about it, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So sounds like it's it's always been an offense about there for her. But besides one like Jordan, yeah. Kobe. Yeah, man. So I think that's where he killed the game at right there. Uh you know, playing both ends of the ball like that. Uh, I do think injuries play a role, but not a big role as people think, because even when during the season when Jalen Williams was there, man, Spurs was still taking OKC out. And I was thinking the old school way, man, you need this experience. That was the regular season. I I didn't I didn't think he was gonna go down like that in the playoffs, to be honest, man. I thought OKC would be able to pull it out. Even with uh Jalen Williams being injured. Because what De'Aaron Fox on 100%. I know Dennon Harper was uh nicked up a couple games too, so yeah, man.

SPEAKER_06

We didn't expect that so ass.

SPEAKER_07

You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

I think I think that I think that's the part we gotta I think we gotta focus on that versus Jalen Williams, bro, because Jalen Williams was. Yeah, like I think he missed 60 games and they still was number one seed.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I think they could have beat him without Jalen. Like I was confident with him beating him without Jalen, you know what I'm saying? But Chet playing the way he did with Chet playing the way he did, it's like you needed Jalen because Jalen's proven even though Chet is proven, he showed that in the NBA Finals, but now you're the number two, and now you're going up against somebody who literally matches up with you.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_07

You know what I'm saying? Like you really were afraid in the moment. If I'm OKC, I'm truly not trusting you right now. Because it's tough to trust you right now because you literally in the moment, like two shots in the first quarter and none of that's unbelievable right there. They got clips of you literally sizing up, and then you like, oh hell no. I can't I can't tr I can't trust you as a hooper. I can't trust you.

SPEAKER_06

Let me respond, let me respond to that chat thing real quick, because I I mean this is something that's been real high in the media, and I think we gotta be careful with that too, because it's like we talk about a max player, we talk about a uh a dude who finished number two in defensive player of the year, we talk about somebody who's on the all-defensive team, and we talk about somebody who had a real good season. He was an all-star. He had he had a bad series, and now he's trending that OKC need to get rid of him, they need to trade him, this, this, and this. I know we uh just said that we can't trust him. I think I think so many times, bro, that's where dynasties, they, they're they're on that brink of becoming a dynasty, but then they have a moment like this, and they get so much pressure from either the fans, from the media, or anything like that, to break stuff up. I think that Chet will come back, and I think Chet will be better. He's never gonna be able to, bro, he's never ever gonna be able to do nothing with Wimby. Nobody can do nothing with Wimby. But I do think that he he he didn't play his best basketball version, but I also don't feel like that right there is uh is a sign for him to just get traded, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_07

Only if you trade Chet, you only trade for Giannis. I agree with you. You don't you don't trade for anybody else. You know what I'm saying? Like you have an opportunity, you shoot your shot. If it lands, it lands. If not, you stick it out with Chet the same way the Lakers did with Palkisau. Parkasaw got pumped in the finals in 08. Plumped. You know what I'm saying? And that's why in 2010, when he played the way he did, you've seen the emotion on him. He was there near cry because he was cooking KG. You know what I'm saying? Like, like, so you it you can trust it. I I I got you right. Not to say that, but if you can get it up for Giannis, though, and you have the assets, and you have to do that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you do that every day of the week, twice on Sunday, bro. You do that.

SPEAKER_05

But you know, they're gonna show you, but that'll show you what kind of organization uh OKC is, and I don't think they that type of organization would do it.

SPEAKER_06

I don't think so, too, bro. I think I think OKC is showing not only the fans as far as viewers, but they're showing other teams in the NBA how important chemistry is, bro. You can all the best players in one on one team, you're not gonna just end up having a a KD, Steph, and Clay situation just happen where they just win. Like, bro, OKC is showing us that having that cognity, having that chemistry amongst each other, having people that you go on a war with that you actually like, you know what I'm saying? Like you looking to your left and your right, like these are my brothers, these are my dogs, and I'm ready to run through a wall for that to me that that matters more than anything, especially when you talk about basketball. You know what I mean? Like you really gotta have that chemistry out there, just because basketball is one of those sports where we we we individualize players and we make them superstars, or he's the face of the franchise, he's the face of the team, where in football, you know, it could be multiple people, you know what I'm saying, kind of leading the way with that. But in basketball, basketball is very egotistical when it comes to just being a player, especially a young player. And I think OKC is showing that, you know what, at any any given night, it could be somebody, but that chemistry took it takes time to get built. So breaking that up just to get a Giannis in there, or breaking that up just to get anybody in there, I think, I think to me it'd do more damage than than it would be uh helping the franchise, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_02

What about you, boss?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I think uh people pushing the panic button with the chat thing. Uh I think I still think OKC got a good thing going on over there, man. Uh they giving me I feel like they I feel like they gotta like a plug and play type of type of team where you can like where you can put pieces over there. Uh you don't necessarily gotta like mix everything up. Like look how McCain came over there, Caruso came over there, Hartenstein, like these players who just well, you can start with Hartenstein and uh Caruso. They came over there, they won the champ the first year, and then McCain did a big thing for their offense throughout, you know, throughout the playoffs. And he only been over there for a few months. So I think you uh you know you just mix some things around. That Jalen Williams thing, that I think the Jalen Williams thing is something to uh I think that's something to look at. Um he's been dealing with the hamstring things pretty much the entire season. OKC played the best basketball without him. They lost one game all the way to almost what? They need December?

SPEAKER_07

They they need dog to be a championship team, though. I think I think they need him to be a championship team. He's a he's a solidified top 15 player. You know what I'm saying? Like they need him, bro. They need him healthy. But I mean the health You you gotta be healthy, you know. You gotta be there. I think he was a little hung over from the from the even though he don't drink and s or smoke or nothing. You know what I'm saying? He said that his first time ever drinking was that champagne. So, but I think he was a little, I think he was just a little, I don't know, like maybe a lot of champions in the summer just have fun.

SPEAKER_05

But how y'all felt about OKC playing their best basketball without them?

SPEAKER_06

I think I think I think with them playing they uh they best ball without them, I think it it it kind of hurts him when it comes to contracts, right? Um He already signed though, though.

SPEAKER_03

He already got his contract, though.

SPEAKER_06

Chet did too. Chet got his contract, but they all signed. They all locked in. They all yeah Jalen got what two years though, don't he? He only got two years.

SPEAKER_07

Nah, they all signed last year.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, I I thought uh Jalen signed three and then um Chet signed last year. I don't know, but I I I agree with Kyrie, but they they need him to win, and I think it showed that, man, because Spurs was sending defenders at um say left and right. I mean, he had his lowest um field goal percentage that we've seen in shit ever in the playoffs for him during that series. Like he was shooting under 35% um during that whole series. So I think him not having no uh no robbing to kind of you know get the ball to create their own shot. I think that did hurt them in the long run. But at the end of the day, bro, I don't think you break that up. I mean, you're talking about a team that lost in seven games, you know what I'm saying? I don't think you break that up, bro.

SPEAKER_07

I think his contract, his trying to try to kick in next year too, in that chat. Yeah, 41 mil next year. Yeah, they can't. $287 million contract.

SPEAKER_06

And realistically, bro, they can't move them anyway.

SPEAKER_07

Nah. They already persons you'll be able to move it for is, like I said, a Giannis, because the contracts align, and then you would be able to re-sign Giannis on a contract extension. Like I said, that would be the only thing that I mean.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, can do what they want.

SPEAKER_07

Like they got they got the picks. They got the picks, that's what I'm saying. They could really do that, but they don't have the cap space. Like next year, they only have the room to sign one player out of the two players that they can draft this year. You know what I'm saying? Like they actually can they got a trade a pick, but I also think that this playoff run showed you that we don't need to re-sign Lou Dort. So there's room for, you know, hey, boom, Casey Wallace is nice, AJ Mitchell is nice, here goes McCain Bob. You don't need Dort.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So look, would y'all say Dort or Caruso?

SPEAKER_07

Because that's the lead between Caruso's already in contract, though. I'm keeping Caruso over Dort, though. Because Dort showed me you're not giving me any offensive possessions, but I also don't think they give him enough shots.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. He likes he and Limbo. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, he's the all-man out for that.

SPEAKER_05

Man, it wasn't always like that, man. I think Caruso, he's just taking them shots.

SPEAKER_07

But he in contract. Ludwork contract, he he he on the team option this year. So the team can either. You know what I'm saying? I know. That's what I'm saying. Like, unless the team just hoard him for a year and then he's gone after next year, but why? When you you already all those contracts are kicking in next year, you know what I'm saying? And shave bonus, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

I want to go back like uh how we got to this point. So like the Knicks were just blowing everybody out, basically. Like I feel like the Knicks got the most favorable run to the to the championship. You know what I'm saying? Um, I think it's time. I yeah, the I don't know what happened with the Pistons in that game seven. It's like they just gave up. You know what I'm saying? Like it's like I don't know, they just gave up. They didn't have the heart for it. It was almost like uh how you know how they would talk about they got the script that came out like they were supposed to lose. That's what it really felt like, honestly.

SPEAKER_05

If it is, man, they don't supposed to be that bad, man. At least like it'd be close, give us something to watch.

SPEAKER_03

That's what it felt like. And then um, I don't know what's going on with uh the calves, but the calves like just like deflated out of nowhere, you know what I'm saying? Donovan Mitchell, he needs a sidekick. He not he not a number one, you know what I'm saying? He need a number one, he a number two, you know what I'm saying? And then uh James Harden, it might be time for my boy to just, you know They they just need to bump down.

SPEAKER_07

You know what I'm saying? James is James is a three and under. Yeah, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

James might need to come off the bench, honestly. He might need to be a six.

SPEAKER_07

You could say that, but Donovan, I'm with you. He is not a number one. He's not a number one. He's not gonna he's not gonna win a championship for you. He's not gonna be the one.

SPEAKER_03

Then they're talking about um, oh, they need LeBron to come back. Even LeBron's not gonna be able to, not at this age. He's not gonna be able to help that Cavs team.

SPEAKER_05

No, they show you that in LA. Like, you basically swapping what, Luca and LeBron for Spider and LeBron? Come on, like Luca.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I don't know. I think the Lakers might have been better. I don't think they would have beat OKC, but I think it definitely would have been tougher for OKC had uh Luca played. Because I feel like the Lakers exposed um OKC.

SPEAKER_07

We don't have the size.

SPEAKER_06

No, bro, we ain't got no size.

SPEAKER_07

I think they still would have got swept.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I don't think he I don't think we I don't think they would have got swept the way they did, but I think the Lakers exposed the OKC and then the Spurs have the personnel to take full advantage of it. And I think that's what that's what happened. Um and then as far as the OKC and Spurs, I do have a problem with uh where SGA is like flopping, like it's sickening. I don't like it. I understand like it's it's masterful. He's a great he's a he's taking advantage of the rules, you know what I'm saying? Don't get me wrong, but like something has to be done. I uh to me, I think the NBA needs to have like how the NFL has where they have like the referees in the national office, and when something like that happens, the national office makes the call like nah, it was a flop. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

I think they do have a flop. I think that slow the game, I think that slowed the game down way too much.

SPEAKER_03

Um it does, but like it's sickening looking at yeah, no, it's terrible, bro.

SPEAKER_06

It's bro, bro. When I tell you, I'm I'm one of the the biggest complainers about that, man. Me and Kyrie, we done had a lot of conversations about that. Bro, and it's like he he's he's very crafty, don't get me wrong. And honestly, when he's not flopping, he still can give you 30. You know what I'm saying? Like he can't.

SPEAKER_07

He did a game seven.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

But I think that he's he's very crafty and he's taking advantage of a broken system. Right? We had we had uh something in the NBA a couple years ago where they put in where they were like giving people a flopping call. And if y'all notice, they they didn't do it at all this year. For the last year and a half, they had they stopped doing it. So now they uh a lot of players, a lot of um, especially fans are calling for commissioner to kind of implement that back into the game. They was doing a little trial with it, but I think that he's he's crafty, he's taking advantage of the game, and that's really an Adam Silver issue, bro. Adam Silver has to really step in and do that. But I think going to these replays, I think it just slows down the pace of the game. Like I would hate to be one of those up and down teams and every every other possession if we stop in the game, going to the cameras to see if somebody flopping.

SPEAKER_03

Give him a free throw. Like make it make the flop like you lose points. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_07

Like, I mean, in high school, you get high school, they tech you for flopping. Yeah. Or not then you get a warning, you get a warning. The first one you get a warning, you know what I'm saying? But then after that, they they they tech you for flopping, and ain't no replays. So if you flop or you didn't, yeah, that's what the call is.

SPEAKER_06

I think bro, I I think the thing that irritated me, man, we we hyper focus upon Shaking, but man, OKC the entire team do it, bro. Yeah, like the whole team. Like I think like big ass just on a like falling to the ground. He the leader. What's a big what's a big white boy? Um, big big dude, just falling on the ground. I'm just like, man, come on, bro. This shit.

SPEAKER_07

But all right, I'm trying to know how I feel though. Like, but it's been going on. They all been doing it. You know what I'm saying? E Boy is a is is a clear case of this. You too big to be flopping, LeBron James. I mean, it's it's happen it's been happening. James Harden, you know, they talked about him for years, you know what I'm saying? Like, he was the first to take advantage of it for real.

SPEAKER_03

Like But now it's reached the plateau, though, now. It's reached, I mean it's reached the plate. Oh, yeah, it's magnifying now, man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, clips everywhere, especially from OKC, man. It was clip after clip coming on.

SPEAKER_06

Like, every time you scroll, they they showing them every every niggas have mastered shooting a jump shot and falling, bro. Like, they be to the point where niggas is like purposely running out the way, not even touching them. Yeah, but in their mind, they already thinking I'm about to flop. So there, bro, they shooting a jump shot and just falling on their back, bro.

SPEAKER_07

But what be crazy is what's crazy is they ain't even top ten in free throw attempts. Man. You feel me? Like, shame ain't gonna be a good thing. So they so low-key, so low-key, it kind of like the refs ain't calling it as much, but you see them falling so much, you like, nigga, why do you keep falling? You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

I think the only reason we we see the free throw numbers not as high with them, that they don't have a lot of slashes. You know, Shay, Mitty, you know what I'm saying? Like, outside of Jalen Williams, bro.

SPEAKER_07

Jalen didn't play either. So, you know, that that that's that's probably eight free throws a game. You know what I'm saying? You're missing out on two with Jalen. Yeah, he played around.

SPEAKER_03

To my point, like, something gotta be done about that. Cause it's it makes you not want to watch the game. Like, I ain't even gonna lie, the first few games, I watched the first one, and then I was turning three, four, and five off because it was like, this is crazy. And then I watched six and seven, you know what I'm saying? And um it's just it's just it's just bad basketball. I don't like it. I I don't, I don't and I don't know if that's like because the Shay's like, you know, European player, like you're not uh like in America, like the kids are starting to do it now, you know what I'm saying? Flopping and stuff, but like when we was coming up playing basketball, like everything was about being tough, you know what I'm saying? And now like it's just changing and I I just don't like it. It's worse than all the three-pointers that are being taken now. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's just it's just bad basketball to me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, tough is not even in the game no more. You know what I'm saying? You gotta certain people who who bring it, and we all know who who those people are, but man, that it's just it's kind of soft, man. Like with the refereeing and everything going on, you you almost can't play defense.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like they make it, they they they make it hard to play defense. Yeah. And then if you don't, if you it's it's like if you don't got that name out there as like a big defender, man, they call in every foul on you.

SPEAKER_06

Mm-hmm. You know, that's I think that's I think that's why you see the Draymonds of the world like advocate for themselves, especially in uh press conferences, to kind of let them know, you know what I'm saying? Like, I I want to be known as a defender, and the refs is gonna favor the game towards that way. You know what I mean? Same thing with Wimby. Because a lot of those blocks that that that they give in Wimby are really files, but he's he's just known for that now. So anytime he goes up for a block, it's coming up. It's I mean, it's not gonna get caught as a foul, it's gonna be a block. Um, but what I uh one thing I do gotta say, man, game six and seven was probably the best rep games that we've seen probably all season, bro. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, like game six and seven.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody was complaining. And I was just about to say, bro.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, I ain't gonna lie though. You know who OKC remind me of?

SPEAKER_06

What's the white boy on ESPN? The little um the fame, the he'd a he the white Stephen at ESPN, but Adam he was on Adam Silver was on there. And um Pat McAfee. Pat McAfee. Yeah, yeah. But when he was talking, I like he was saying in so many words, I gotta protect the brand. I gotta protect the brand. That nigga made that phone call, bro. But game six and seven was bro, the most perfect call game ever, bro.

SPEAKER_07

But you know who OKC remind me of in in comparison to the NFL?

SPEAKER_08

Who?

SPEAKER_07

The Tush Push.

SPEAKER_06

You got you gotta explain that, bro.

SPEAKER_07

Bro, y'all took advantage of that shit too. Like y'all getting people hurt and y'all just diving on the ground and now, you know what I'm saying? Like the tush push is it's bad for NFL. Y'all go up there and run the tush push four times in a row. That's nasty football, bro. Y'all going out there and then Jalen, your boy Jalen hurts padding his stats by getting four goal line attempts. That's like playing the video game, and you just go on the goal line every time.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, man.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, man. I'm just saying, that's what we well, okay. So why are you mad at OKC? Nasty work, you see? Don't uh uh don't come back at you.

SPEAKER_03

Don't pick a choose. The only thing about that is the NFL voted on the Tushbush and they voted yes.

SPEAKER_06

Two years in a row, bro. Yeah, because they want to try it too. And and and what they doing? They not successful, bro. I know. So in the minute, if they voted again, if they voted we if they voted it's not a skill.

SPEAKER_07

Y'all just had a dog, y'all had a dog online, y'all had a dog online, and y'all got a big running back at quarterback. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

Tell Shanahan, hey, tell Shanahan.

SPEAKER_05

We're Tish Push and this seat uh last season, man. It was a cover with uh four starts.

SPEAKER_07

Who who's going on? Hey, I just know who put the Eagles out. And that Tish push shit ain't worked.

SPEAKER_06

We got one dog.

SPEAKER_03

All right, back on track, back on task, back on task. Uh NFLs later. Um give me y'all who who who wins it, who takes it all. Both of these teams haven't been to the championship. There's no necessarily, usually we say, you know, experience wins championships a lot of the times, but these teams, they don't have the experience. Who's taking home the chip? Who's taking this ring home?

SPEAKER_05

Man, I'm going Spurs, man. Uh the reason I'm going Spurs, because my whole thing been no experience. And this right here showing that shit, they don't need no experience. Uh and I always feel like a team always got to go through that heartbreak. Spurs ain't been through no heartbreak. Now, the Knicks actually been through a lot of heartbreak over the last couple years, but Spurs haven't been through no heartbreak, man. And they still getting it done. Man, if you if you really look at Wimby and watch some of the uh some of his interviews and how he feels about the game, man, Wimby heartbreak, he I I feel like Wimby got that Jordan effect with with how he treats certain situations. Like he actually far as the OKC thing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, he cares.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like as far as the OKC thing. His he took he took the FIFA championship with Chet winning over him, and that was his whole motivation for you know beating OKC. And I think New York Knicks, I think with them beating them in the cup, I think that that's his whole his whole thing, just like Jordan did. Like, hey, I I I gotta get them. And I think I think Young Dog, man, he he ready. We we in this era right now, so I got spurs with this.

SPEAKER_07

Um follow up what you saying, like um with the they showing that they don't need the experience. Well, when you got the best player in the league and the best player on your on the floor on your team, that takes you a long way. You know what I'm saying? It ta it takes you a long way. And there's, you know, he's he's leading. He's leading. And like you said, though, like you made some great points, bro. Like, he finds something to be motivated about, and he's so passionate, and he truly loves the game of basketball. And that's one thing I look, bro, I'm a I'm a Spurs hater. So before I make my pick, it's gonna be biased. I can't not be biased with Spurs, but I can't acknowledge good basketball. And dog is one of them ones. You feel me? You can just see it. Like, hey, we finally, like, don't get me wrong, Braun, Brian could have been the GOAT. Cabron could have been the GOAT. He had everything in front of him. But Wendy has that dog that we wish LeBron James truly had. That Kobe type of dog. You know what I'm saying? He has that, he Jordan's legacy might be put on the line. I'm just saying, like, and it it says a lot for me to say that because I love Jordan. And I hate the Spurs.

SPEAKER_02

LeBron is the goat.

SPEAKER_07

Wimby can stop it. We're gonna we're not gonna talk about that. Okay. Like I said, Wimby, Wimby though, I think he's gonna be knocking on that door as, hey, I'm up here with y'all niggas. You know what I'm saying? But I'm taking the Knicks. I have to take the Knicks. My heart won't let me not take the Knicks. And I've also been saying for like the last three years, in my lifetime, I just want to see the Knicks win. I'm not a fan. But for the game of basketball, I think it'll be great. It'll be great to see the Knicks win. We have never in our lifetime ever. We've never seen it. And it is the Mecca basketball, as they call it. And I I got the Knicks in six.

SPEAKER_03

We haven't even seen the Knicks in the finals in our lifetime. So this is a 99.

SPEAKER_07

99.

SPEAKER_05

First one where I I like I seen some of the Jordan stuff, but like I think that's what that was. I feel like I watched every game. Yeah, they played the Spurs too, didn't they?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah. They played the Spurs.

SPEAKER_07

You know what I'm saying? Hey, you know what's crazy? Kat, his first game as a Knicks, he showed up in the in the 99 Finals shirt. Had Tim Duncan and Streetwell on the crazy. You know what I'm saying? It's crazy. But man, I'm going Knicks. Um I want to say six, but Wimby's too great. So hope maybe seven, and I'll love that for just to see a game seven. Who don't want to see that for the finals?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I ain't say my number, but Spurs is six. Uh no, Spurs and six.

SPEAKER_07

I'm going Knicks and seven. I'm going Knicks and seven, man. I'm gonna just stick with seven.

SPEAKER_06

Man, I um man, I ain't gonna lie, man, this this this is a tough one. I do feel like this is a it's a favorable matchup for New York. Um just with having Kat who's able to play on a perimeter, and the Spurs not having really nobody that can check him. You know what I mean? Because they still got Mitchell Robinson too. So I think the matchup is favorable for the Knicks. Um Damn. But you know what though, I I think I'm gonna I think I'm gonna stick with the Spurs with this one, man. I think I'm gonna stick with the Spurs. Yeah, I think I'ma stick with the Spurs. I'm gonna say Spurs and Seven. Although I do feel like New York has the most favorable matchup just because of um Cat, bro. I think Kat is gonna be the X factor. If Kat shows up, New York is New York is gonna beat him easily. But if Cat is up that bull, it's gonna it's definitely gonna be Spurs and seven for sure. We still don't know we still don't know how Mitchell Robinson is gonna look either, because he just had surgery on his finger. You know what I'm saying? He uh he said he's still playing. But we also gotta be mindful that in the cup, Wimby Wimby didn't start in the cup. That was his first game back. He only played like 20 minutes. Um some of those other role players, they weren't even in a rotation either for the Spurs. The Carter Bryant's and different people like that. So none of them. People, they weren't in a rotation. So and Harrison Barnes put Harrison Barnes and played 30 minutes in the cup. And he he probably averaged five minutes now. You know what I mean? So I think it's gonna be a fresh matchup, so we really can't even go back uh off any past results. But I think just looking at the teams from the ITS or the playoffs so far, I think the Spurs can pull it off.

SPEAKER_07

Um I know they 2-1 versus the Spurs. They won two of the three matchups, but it's crazy you say that, bro. Yeah, the Knicks did. But it's crazy you said that, um DQ, because I said the same shit, and I was just debating with, I want to say maybe Darius about it. And I said that, bro. I said, bro, the Knicks actually have a favorable matchup. Like they match up better versus Spurs than they do OKC. Like OKC guards would have torn the Knicks guards up. You know what I'm saying? Like, offensively, the guards on the Spurs have to go out there and prove themselves. Like Castle still has to prove, you know what I'm saying? Fox has to prove, so they gotta go out there and ball, you know what I'm saying? If they do that, they win. Castle go out there and do what he's been doing, they win. But now you got a bridge is on you or an Ana Nobi, you know what I'm saying? Like, the the matchup's gonna be, you know, it's a little bit different, you know what I'm saying? And like you said, the biggest thing. It's gonna be weaker, bro. Hey, it's a good matchup, though. It's a good matchup.

SPEAKER_05

I think where the Knicks go uh all at is the speed. Spurs is too fast for them. And uh and I agree with you, DQ, uh uh cat playing on that perimeter. He gonna he gonna keep Wimby at the paint. And I want to see how Spurs uh deal with that because uh they might have to play Harrison Burns because Spurs kind of play with a one big and four guards. And I think OG is the is the I think OG the X factor. You say it can't, but I think OG is because I feel Spurs got no answer for OG. Because they play with a guard system, they play with one big, four guards, and it's nobody on there who can really hold OG but Harrison Burns. And I wonder if the coach is willing to play chess like that and bring Harrison Burns in, because that's that's the only way that really match up. I was just watching the Cup game before the pod started, and man, they had Mitch Robinson and Kat on the floor at the same time. And then that's when I seen the game start slipping away from uh San Antonio. So I want to see. I'm curious, I'm curious to see what they're gonna do about that.

SPEAKER_06

So, so it's as far as OG, I do like Calden Johnson upon as far as that matchup. I think they match up. I forgot about Kyler. Because they they the same body size. They they both around 6'6, 6'7, and they both stocky dudes, you know what I'm saying? So I think they kind of wash each other out. I think I think it's really gonna depend on the coaches, bro. I think I think Mike Brown, I think he can shine, bro. I think he can really shine and solidify himself as one of the top coaches. He can outcoach him. I mean, he already is the top coach, but I think he can actually shine with this one versus the uh the young fella with the Spurs. And I say that because, again, when it comes to the to the pace of the game, that's at the advantage of the Spurs. And I think the Spurs come out, they try to play fast. Um, because when you play fast like that, you force the Knicks to make an adjustment by keeping Mitch Robinson on the bench. He's not gonna be able to keep up with the pace of the game like that. Um But in reverse, I don't think that anybody on the Spurs can check Cat, bro, if he's playing at the perimeter, bro. Because if you bring Wimby to check to uh to guard Kat, he has bro, he has to play him honest, bro. But that means everybody else got a guard. Because Cat, bro, cat is shooting the skin off the bar, bro. So he got off him honest, bro. You know what I mean? Where Chet where Chet he can back off Chet. Chet to get his threes every now and then, but we talk about Kat, a three-point, a three-point uh scoring champion, bro. Like he bro, he can shoot the leather off the bar, bro.

SPEAKER_03

Cat might be the best, other than Dirk, he might be the best big man shooter.

SPEAKER_07

He calls himself the best big man shooter. Of all times. And he has it, he has his case.

SPEAKER_05

I believe only big man to win it, too.

SPEAKER_07

Only big man, he has his case. I'm not gonna say he is, but he has his case.

SPEAKER_03

I'm going with I'm going with the Knicks. Jalen Brunson to go ahead and be the best Knicks ever. You know what I'm saying? He's gonna be solidify himself as Superman.

SPEAKER_04

I think he already is.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think Brunson's gonna be the one to do it. It don't matter. He's the leader of the team.

SPEAKER_07

I ain't gonna lie, man. It's gonna be a good thing.

SPEAKER_05

You ain't gonna old school Clyde the bre the best nick ever.

SPEAKER_03

Not if not.

SPEAKER_07

I didn't see that. I didn't see Clyde. Basketball wasn't basketball then.

SPEAKER_03

You know what I'm saying? I don't I don't know. I don't I can't speak for Clyde. You know what I'm saying? I wasn't there. I just know he'd be dragging. His his his uh his suits triple OG, man. His suits be ridiculous these days, you know what I'm saying? So, you know, shout out to Clyde, but um I'm going with the Knicks, Knicks and seven.

SPEAKER_06

That's a scary matchup.

Hey, it's been some major, super major trades that have happened recently. Give me y'all thoughts on what's going on right now in the league.

SPEAKER_06

Man, I think um, well, first, man, for if you've been under a rock, Miles Garrett was traded to the Rams Um for a low. So they got they stud um young defensive end. They got what? A first, what else they get, Kyrie? First, second, first second and Jared Burst, who was a who's a nice young player. So to me, to me, if you if you and Wim if you and win now mode, which the Rams are, I understand the trade. But I think I'm leaning on the other side. I think that Cleveland made out better with that, um, with that trade, um, as far as like the drive capital and having a young proven um edge. So and I and we all know uh edge is is just as important as a quarterback in today's game. I think that Cleveland did make out uh but the better betterment of the trade, but I also understand the Rams thinking like they ain't win now, but they got the pieces to win right now. And then uh as far as the Eagles, AJ Brown was traded to the Patriots. Everybody been knowing that's probably what's gonna happen for the last couple months. He got traded for a first round pick, not next year, but for 2028, and for a fifth round pick um next year in the 2027 draft. I think that I think the Eagles didn't get a lot uh for AJ. But I also feel like when you talk about having that that cancer out of a locker room, it's worth it's worth it's worth the picks. And when I say cancer, I don't want to say like me clear that up. I don't want to say he's a cancer to the locker room. I think that he's brought so much tension and so much of a distraction to the locker room where football wasn't the primary focus. Everything that we talked about with the Eagles over the last year and a half has has been about AJ Brown, him being unhappy with the offense, him being unhappy with Jalen Hurts, all these different um stories in the background of what could or can't be or could or couldn't be happening with them, it wasn't about football no more. After the Super Bowl, and you gotta think about this is a team that won a Super Bowl two years ago. It it it bro, right after the Super Bowl, it wasn't about football no more. It was about the tension between him and Jalen Hurts, the tension with him in the media, him pulling some of those stunts on the sidelines. So I think, man, when you can take something like that out of a locker room and you kind of get that clean slate, especially with new wide receivers coming into the room, a new stud rookie coming into the room, bro. You don't want to have that type of tension with new players, bro. You got to continue to build that culture. And I think the Eagles just showed, man, that nobody bigger than the program. So I'm glad that uh the Eagles were able to get a first for it. I wish it would have been a first for next year, because we never know what two years is gonna look like. So I wish we would have got a first for next year, but I do feel like um it was a good trade. I think both both people are happy. Obviously, both people are happy. Um, just looking at some of the posts that AJ Brown has been posting in the last 24 hours.

SPEAKER_03

He's so excited. He didn't find his wife. Literally. And he just got married.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, man, I agree. I think Philly should uh I think Philly should have got more out of the deal, but yeah, hey, uh y'all NFT, so shit, who cares? What y'all do? But uh no. But for real though, man, I just think Philly should have got a little more out of the deal. Uh but I guess when, you know, with all the antics that went on over the last couple years, shit, what really negotiating power do you really got? So I think they uh did whatever they can do for him. But yeah, I just think Philly could have got a little more if uh all the antics and stuff been go on, and you know, they just did it on a little quieter scale as far as getting them up out of there. And he let it known. I I feel like when the player let it be known, like you you I think players destroy their own like negotiating power when they let it be known that they want to be out of these teams so bad, and I feel like they be fucking they self in a way, but AJ got really he got what he wanted out the deal. So I guess shout out for for Philly being uh, you know, a good organization letting them go with them into it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, for sure. So because they the way he was acting, I hear DQ, I don't think cancer is the word for that, but I hear, I hear what you're saying. Like he it was an issue, right? So getting out of getting the issue out when someone clearly doesn't want to be there, you know what I'm saying? Getting that out of the way, especially bringing in new rookies and your quarter him and your quarterback beefing, you know what I'm saying? Allegedly. Allegedly, allegedly. Um it's uh addition by subtraction.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, well, he was coming out saying little shots towards Jalen Hurts, but like you said, cancer is a stretch. Um distract distraction is the best distraction, you know, because after DQ, like DQ said after Super Bowl. It became a distraction, but how much? I mean, y'all won a division, y'all won eleven games. How much of a distraction really was it? Y'all didn't lose because of AJ Brown's antics. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna respond, I'm gonna respond after your point.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, like, you know, like if we get deeper into it, you know, the conversation earlier, maybe, you know, but um yeah, uh I'm as a Patriot fan, I love I love the trade. I also I'm a big fan of AJ Brown. So I really do love that move. Um Patriots needed that. They needed that wide receiver and needed somebody to throw the ball to. Who better than just throw it up? And AJ Brown's gonna come down with it. So I really do like that move. Um as far as getting more out of it. I mean, he is an older receiver. He did get a first out of it, you know, you did get a second, you know. I mean, like, you you you got you got some love. Like maybe you could have got your first earlier, yeah. But you waited two years for that. Like, okay. About two years, AJ Brown wouldn't have been on your team anyway. So you you won in that too. Uh it was a win-win situation. Um, I definitely think the Browns feel was a win-win situation. The Browns are looking to rebuild and uh Jared Verse. He has growing to do. He's still uh a great pass rusher. Like I I do think he's gonna be nice. Um, but he'll be ready in about three years, two, three years, in which they need a quarterback. They have to they have to get more depth. You know what I'm saying? Especially at that quarterback. You gotta go get you a good quarterback. But other than that, I mean, they're putting the right pieces there in in Cleveland, you know. Um, so I think that's a win-win. And then, like you said, Miles Garrett and the Rams, they're ready to win now. So you got a team who's ready to win now, and then you got a team who's built. It was a win-win.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think the Rams like are like uh powerhouse on both sides of the ball right now. They got they got everything. And Stafford probably got another two years left at like top, top level. You know what I'm saying? I mean, he just won MVP. He got another two, three years left at top, top level. You know, obviously, no God forsake any injuries towards him, you know what I'm saying? But it's um I felt like how y'all were saying like the Browns trading Miles Garrett. Although I was shocked, don't get me wrong, I was shocked when it came across to my antennas. I was like, whoa. You know what I'm saying? I think it is overall, you know, it's a good move. I'm actually happy uh for Miles Garrett, like I was saying earlier, like everybody was criticizing him, telling him, you know, you chose the money over winning, you chose the money over winning, and now, you know, everything, you know, the Lord, you know, just blessed him and put him in put him in the right situation. You know what I'm saying? So the said the Lord works in mysterious ways. Put him in the right situation to a team that's ready to win now. And he really could like affect the game so much for that team that they can win now.

SPEAKER_07

So if they're healthy, bro, they're winning. That's all healthy. That's okay. You know what I'm saying? And then if Aaron Donald comes back, like I told somebody. Man, that's crazy if he comes back. Aaron Donald comes back. I don't even want to hear that. This is a this is a huge, this is a huge, huge, huge take, right? I'm about to say. But I think that they can compete to be an undefeated team with Aaron Donald. Who can score on him? Nobody.

SPEAKER_05

Who can score on him right now without Aaron Donovan? That's my but I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_07

Nobody. Nobody for sure. I don't think they can go undefeated for sure this year. I don't think they go undefeated.

SPEAKER_06

But like seriously, though, who y'all think can be able to put some points on the board against them? Bro, but you gotta think about it, bro. They got they went out and got one of the top cornerbacks. They got tripping up. So last year, that was their only that was their only weakness. Man, exactly.

SPEAKER_05

Hasn't ever been a LVP and a defensive player of the year on the same team?

SPEAKER_07

Bro, that's crazy. It just said that's the first time this the reigning in the same year it ever happened. But um, I do think that you're gonna have to run the ball on them right now. That's gonna you're gonna try you have to try to run the ball on them. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

So you've got to try to run the ball.

SPEAKER_07

Because they don't have the interior, it's gonna be up the up the, you know what I'm saying, the middle. That's little ices, like, because you're not getting the edge. You're not getting the edge, but they don't have that interior force in the middle yet. Rather if it's a middle linebacker or if it's uh interior lineman. That's why I said if you go get Aaron Donald, it's over. It's nothing you can do first then. Because the pass game is cooked. You got Miles Garrett and and Byron Young coming after you, and then you have the corners to back him up, and then you try to run the ball up the middle, Aaron Donald's right there, and then you try to run the ball on the edge, you still got the edge set. I can't wait. They're fighting for undefeated.

SPEAKER_06

I think I think the scary thing about about uh Miles Garrett, bro, that a lot of people not even talking about, we gotta understand, bro, when when he played in Cleveland all these years, they were always getting their ass beat. So they was always playing from behind. So if they playing from behind, most of the teams, they slow the game down, they're running the ball. With the Rams, Stafford gonna be airing that bitch out. They're gonna be putting up 30 points a game. They're scoring. It's gonna be forcing teams to pass. Bro, if we thought, if we thought we saw him break a sack record playing from behind for 18 games, bro, what you think he's gonna do when they blowing people out and forcing forcing the uh passes downfield, bro? With with somebody on the other edge, which somebody else over there. Damn that's with the with the lockdown, with a lockdown corner, man.

SPEAKER_05

With a lockdown corner, bro. They shit like they shit like KD with uh uh golden state right now, man. I swear, bro. It really is, bro.

SPEAKER_07

It really is.

SPEAKER_05

That's how they shit look.

SPEAKER_03

So y'all think y'all really think Aaron Donald's gonna come back though? I think so.

SPEAKER_07

I think he looked with it last year. I think he is.

SPEAKER_05

Have y'all ever watched this um y'all ever watched him on man? What's the pie with uh on with Ryan Clark? Uh uh Pivot. Yeah, I saw that interview. Man, the way he was talking about his wife on there, man, I I don't see him coming back.

SPEAKER_06

Man, you gotta think though, bro. To me, to me, it it aligned perfectly, right? So last year he was already flirting with it. Him and McVeigh, he say him and McVay, they like best friends. Like they they they talk all the time. He say every uh he said every year since he retired, McVeigh, they always have a conversation. Like, whenever you're ready. Another thing with that is we all know that Aaron Donald, he didn't retire and just go get on the golf course and get fat. He works out every single day. He's still in great shape. And then another thing we gotta consider too, bro, the Super Bowl is an LA again, bro. It's an LA again. So, like, to me, the stars just align perfectly. You know what I'm saying? If I want to come out one season, and I think that he can come out like he don't even have to be the Aaron Donald that we know. I think just if we get a playoff season, if we get 70% of Aaron Donald, he's still better than half the niggas in the league, bro. So to me, the stars just align. If I'm him, I'm coming out of retirement to play against Miles Garrett, bro. You gotta understand how many one-on-ones Aaron Donald gonna get when you got Miles Garrett on the other on the other side, bro. That'll be crazy.

SPEAKER_03

And vice versa.

SPEAKER_06

Man, or vice versa, bro. That shit gonna get nasty, bro. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, so are we all picking the the Rams to win the Super Bowl?

SPEAKER_06

Not so fast, my friend.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not I'm not. They for sure not getting there. Hey, clip clip this. Clip this. The Eagles first store.

SPEAKER_06

And what my boy Lee Corso saying, not so fast, my friend. That shit sounded.

SPEAKER_07

I got the I got the Patriots and Rams in the Super Bowl, though. Patriots. Are the Patriots not the defending AFC champion? Yeah. Did they not get did they not get better in addressing?

SPEAKER_05

Denver was supposed to put them out. And I think Houston could have put them out.

SPEAKER_07

Did they though? No, they didn't. You got it. Did did New England address their needs on the offensive line and at wide receiver? The defense was legit.

SPEAKER_06

It's too early to make predictions.

SPEAKER_07

They got all boy for Green Bay, right? Hey, it's way too early pick. It's a way too early pick. You know, they got they got them not they got they got them every year. When the NBA champion reigns in two weeks, they have a way too early pick for us to win the favors, the favorites next year.

SPEAKER_06

Facts.

SPEAKER_07

Patriots and Rams.

SPEAKER_05

Eagles and whoever come up it's never where is the coach at man? Is he is he on the field? Is he even in OTAs right now? Yeah, man. You see like he's being caught in hotel rooms and all that type of time right now.

SPEAKER_07

He just got his boy back, man. We good. He ain't gonna be no cancer over here. I don't wanna say what's allegedly happening, but friends are friends aren't doing the things that's happening in in Philly.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, bro. Oh man. Yeah, we'll talk after we cut the cut the pod off, man.

You know, shout out to Friday Night Lights, shout out to uh this movie was based on an actual real team uh back in the 1980s. Uh so shout out to uh everybody, all the real actors, all the the players, everybody who uh contributed to this film. Great.

SPEAKER_07

Was Permian actually the school name?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Permian is actually the school name. Yeah, facts based off a real movie. All right, so first off, we are recasting Coach Gangs, who was played by Billy Bob Thornton. I feel like he was under the gun. He was so pressured to win a state championship that like he wasn't passive, but he was like, hey, whatever we gotta do to win state, I'll do it. And so who do you think has like a command over like an army basically, but also has to play like politics and like make everyone feel good in the situation, all the boosters and everybody, like he had to, you know, kiss they butt a little bit, you know what I'm saying? So it has to be a black person. It could be anybody, don't have to be a black person because this is this is a sports show, so this we just recasting it, period.

SPEAKER_07

Uh I'm going with uh Matthew McConaughey. Oh Matthew McConaughey, for one, is an amazing actor. Um one of one of the greatest actors ever. Shout out to him. But he can play a lot of roles, you know. He can give you funny, he can give you serious, he can give you distress, you know. I I just I I think I think he can play that role nice, man. I think Matthew McConaughey, he's a football lover, you know, he likes tech loves Texas. You know, I think I think he could do it.

SPEAKER_03

I like Matthew McConaughey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I I like Matthew McConaughey actually. Any other options? Anyone got anybody else?

SPEAKER_06

No, I'm actually I'm actually okay with that pick, man.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I like Matthew McCaughey.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I like that.

SPEAKER_03

All right, we got Matthew McConaughey as Coach Gaines in our recasting. All right. So next position, we are recasting Mike Witchell, who is the quarterback of the team, who was played by Lucas Black. Who who's gonna be our new quarterback in this 2026, probably come out in 2028 recasting of Friday Night Lights? Who's the quarterback?

SPEAKER_05

Gotta be Mike B.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I was thinking. Like, it gotta be Michael B. Jordan. He was he was in the um Michael B. Jordan played the quarterback in the TV series of Friday Night Lights. Michael B. Jordan. He did. Michael G. Jordan played the quarterback in the TV series of Friday Night Lights. He definitely did.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I'll say that. I was gonna say Timothy Chamelet.

SPEAKER_03

Timothy Chamelet? Yeah, you seem a little fruit. Yeah, that's that's that was my only thought. That was my only thought, though.

SPEAKER_07

He was I'm like, I said, Dell, I said, man, he a little, he's too little, he's a little though. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

He got to grow a couple inches too. Like five, six.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, you know, they say that you look bigger on film.

SPEAKER_04

I I I don't know about uh I don't know about Timothy.

SPEAKER_07

What about um Mike Winchell was white, so I don't know how we're gonna make Michael B.

SPEAKER_03

Jordan a white man, but it don't have to be it can be anybody though, right? It could be anybody, bro. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It could be anybody. I like Michael B. Jordan or uh my boy who played uh the drug dealer, and uh at the end he wind up being a crackhead. Oh, you're talking about Damson? Damson? Yeah, Damson. Oh, okay. That's a good one right there. I like him being the quarterback.

SPEAKER_05

I actually, yeah, I think that's a government right there. You go with Damson.

SPEAKER_03

Damson?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, all right.

SPEAKER_04

I consider we're getting a decent quarter, right?

SPEAKER_03

Damson Idris as the quarterback.

SPEAKER_04

Wait till y'all hear my running back, the Donnie. I got two. I got two for uh Booby, bro. Yeah, no, not Booby. I got one for Donnie, though. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so next we're going to Donnie. Donnie Billingsley, you know, he was like the hot head. He was doing drugs, he was knocking all the girls off. You know what I'm saying? Donnie is like he was it was like a person like that on our football team growing up.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and our high school team.

SPEAKER_03

Uh he was paid by Garrett Headland. Who do y'all got for Donnie Billingsley?

SPEAKER_07

Jonathan Majors.

SPEAKER_02

I like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I can see him being just crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, facts. He had like vibe all the way into that character, too. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I like that. Eric, we all agreeing on Jonathan Majors. Yeah, I'm with that. Uh yeah, yeah. I like Jonathan Majors. Okay, bet, bet, bet. I like that. Yeah, I can see him like being crazy. Although I can't see him being beat up by his dad. I don't know who his dad would have to be. But Terry Cruz. See, but I was gonna pick Terry Cruz for another for another role, but Terry Cruz. All right. So um the next one we are casting is John Aubrey. John Aubrey was like, he was the um the rich guy. It was like the biggest booster. Yeah, he was the booster who was like controlling everything from behind the scenes. It was up to him. He was like the uh he was the deacon board, basically. It was up to him if you got your job or not. You know what I'm saying? He was he'd fire you and he'll hire you, and he'll he'll put that money in your pocket, if so be it. So who do we think would be like a kind of shady but behind the scenes all about the school booster who is like the rich man in town who's controlling everything?

SPEAKER_06

I think Forrest Whitaker.

SPEAKER_03

Forrest Whitaker?

SPEAKER_06

I said rock, I said Robert Downey Jr.

SPEAKER_03

I like Robert Downey Jr.

SPEAKER_06

Robert Downey Jr. Robert Downey Jr.

SPEAKER_03

You see him being a little shady, like talking to people like you beneath me.

SPEAKER_04

You see how he was a hoe when he was an Iron Man, but he he meant a lot, you know what I'm saying? He meant good, though. It was just his delivery, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he I like Robert Downey Jr. He an asshole. Yeah, he was an asshole. He always.

SPEAKER_05

What about you, boss? Yeah, I guess you can do Robert Downey with that one. Why you say Forrest Whitaker, DQ?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, like who would that come from? Hey, which which which Whitaker played in uh Godfather of Harlem, bro? That's Forrest Whitaker. That's Forrest Whitaker. Oh, okay. Yeah, without one. I like I like Forrest just because he's just an old, old, just I just see him just an old wealthy rich nigga controlling shit behind the scenes.

SPEAKER_07

I almost said uh Robert De Niro.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's a good one right there. Oh, that's a good one too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, like a mob boss, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, he'd be like, hey, listen, get it done and your job is up, nigga.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think I like Robert Donnie Jr. more than uh who you say, who'd you say at first?

SPEAKER_07

I said Robert Donna, I said Robert Donnie Jr. Jr. first, but then I said Robert Robert De Niro.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think I like Robert De Niro than Robert Donnie Jr. actually.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, let's do that one.

SPEAKER_03

Y'all good with that? Y'all good with Robert De Niro? Everybody agree on that? Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, I can see him being hell for uh Matthew McConaughey. All right, next cast is Ivory Christian, who was played by Lee Jackson, who played Preacher Man. So he was like, he was a defensive lineman on the team. You know what I'm saying? He was he was the one person who kept Booby Miles in check and kept even kept Billings in check. He was like the enforcer of the team. And you know, he was a preacher man, so he's all about, you know, God. Who do y'all think uh would play him? Quiet, no lackluster, but when need be, he can turn up. I think uh I think it'd be good for that.

SPEAKER_05

I think somebody like somebody like Tyrese or something can play that Tyrese. Yeah, like the ball head, wasn't that the ball head?

SPEAKER_06

He was the kid, he was the kid, he was a ball. Oh, okay, see.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, he was yeah, he was on the team. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was a he was the defensive end. He said Tyrese, that is funny.

SPEAKER_05

I'll get him less up with somebody else.

SPEAKER_03

Oh snap. 50 cents anybody 50 cent 50 cent, way too old. Nigga, he said Forest Medical. Yeah, but that was for the old man role, though. He that dude wasn't on the team.

SPEAKER_04

Well, who was you saying Terry Cruz for?

SPEAKER_03

For the uncle, for Booby's uncle. Oh, okay, okay. Or Billingsley, or Billingsley's dad. Okay, okay. Y'all tripping. Y'all know who I like? Oh, what's that dude in that one TV show that's out now? Um they want him to be Black Panther. Like everybody's talking about him being Black Panther. From Nemesis? I don't know if he's on Nemesis.

SPEAKER_07

Um I was gonna say Leon from um from Snowfall.

SPEAKER_03

He's too little.

SPEAKER_07

I know.

SPEAKER_03

He still played defensive, man.

SPEAKER_04

That's why I can't say uh personality.

SPEAKER_03

So Aldis Hodge, he played in like uh he was in straight out of Compton. He was the dark-skinned one in the group that straight out of Compton. He played in that movie Brian Banks. Um the football dude that got charged with rape and he really didn't rape nobody.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

What's his name? His name is Aldous Hodge.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, you're talking about the uh from um Cross.

SPEAKER_03

Cross. Yeah. Oh, okay. Detective Cross. The Detective Cross.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that's a good one. That nigga 50 Cent age. Yeah, hey, he perk is that he but yeah, he is like a chill laid-back personality though. You know what I'm saying? Like 50 cent age though.

SPEAKER_04

Is he? Yeah, he's old too. He got to be older.

SPEAKER_03

He's only 39.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

50 cents like 50 years old. 50 by 10.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, yeah. 50 double his age. Yeah. 39 year olds always play 16 year olds in movies, so right.

SPEAKER_05

That should be like crazy as hell.

SPEAKER_03

Facts, facts. All right, so we're going with Aldis Hodge for that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I like Aldous Hodge. He's uh he's like a low-key actor.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I got a good one for uh and he can have.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's what I said. So you said Tyrese. Tyrese might be funny as a mud playing uh LB Miles. Tyrese played by Grovert Coulson. I got Wood Harris. Ooh. Uh I like it. I thought about Wood too. Yeah, yeah. I like Wood Harris. He can't go wrong with Helmand.

SPEAKER_07

He was a motherfucker. He was a motherfucker in uh in the uh uh what's the one that came on BET, the uh new edition movie.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Man, I like it. Louis Harrison got a lot of love on this show.

SPEAKER_06

For Uncle Miles, I like I like Samuel L. Jackson, bro.

SPEAKER_03

I like Samuel L. Jackson too. Yeah, yeah. I like Samuel L. Jackson.

SPEAKER_05

Who else do I say? He's super loud with it too, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or uh or Terry Cruz. Or Terry Cruz. Terry Cruz might be good.

SPEAKER_06

That nigga Forrest Wicker. He don't look old man, old.

SPEAKER_04

Forrest Whitaker would have been good for that one, though, dude.

SPEAKER_06

For sure.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Forrest Whitaker would have been good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Who y'all want? Who y'all want?

SPEAKER_07

Samuel Forrest. Yeah, I like the Samuel L. I like Samuel.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I like Samuel. All right, Samuel Jackson. Plus, Samuel Jackson is funny. You don't get his credit for his comedic chops. Alright, now the star of the movie now. This is the big one. I got it. I gotcha. This is the he low-key legendary. You know what I'm saying? Like, this is a low-key legend.

SPEAKER_06

I just want to play football, coach.

SPEAKER_03

You know what I'm saying? Even though we only got to see him in like two games, two and one and a half games. Low-key legend, right? Wooby Miles played by Derek Luke, who's one of my favorite actors. Who we putting in this starring role?

SPEAKER_06

I got I got somebody, but.

SPEAKER_07

I got y'all. Kane. Ooh. Who? Woody McLean. Woody.

SPEAKER_06

Woody McLean?

unknown

Ooh.

SPEAKER_06

Hmm. That one's solid. That's solid.

SPEAKER_03

I like Woody McLean. Like Woody, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Nah, I think that would have been a good one for the uh for the dog who plays snowfall.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, uh, for the quarterback? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. We put Dancing Edris as the quarterback. Y'all want to change it and put Woody McCain? Or put Wood keep Woody McCain at Derek?

SPEAKER_07

No, because Mike Winchell, Mike Winchell was more laid back. He was more chill. And Woody and Kane is more, you know what I'm saying? But I ain't gonna lie, I was gonna say too, uh, for the quarterback, it'll kind of be cheap because we already seen him in the movie. But dog who played in him. Uh Tyreek Withers. Yeah. I think that's the name.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I was gonna say him for the quarterback. We can keep dancing though.

SPEAKER_06

I ain't gonna lie, bro. Yeah, yeah. That boy, yeah, I think Woody, I mean, not only but if you think about them niggas look like each other too, bro. Yeah, he said, silent. He gonna talk shit, you know.

SPEAKER_04

He's gonna do why he played football.

SPEAKER_03

He can do that role. Who was you gonna who was you gonna say, DQ, before?

SPEAKER_06

I would man, I was gonna say a old, uh old classy nigga, a nigga like Jamie Foxx would be good in that role. Uh any given Sunday.

SPEAKER_03

I could just see Woody just with that cocky demeanor. When I knock him out, I'm knocking him out with Nikes on my feet. All right, so Booby Miles, we're going with, we just Woody McClane. We can't think of nobody. All right, Woody McLean. All right, we did it, y'all. We did it. We melanated it, kinda. We kinda kinda this is a this is a uh a remix of melanated, because we be doing a sports show. But let us know if you think you can recast this movie using these six, these seven roles better than we did. Put it in the comments, let it know how you think we did. Alright, we're gonna go ahead and end the show there. Giving y'all a hit up, let them know where they can find you. Anything y'all want to promote, let them know.
