SPEAKER_01Back to the podcast. Moving to our next segment, the email of the week. Please keep sending your emails to the Cobacetic Hour at gmail.com or go directly to our website at www.thecobacetic hour.com or send a message to one of our social media platforms. So this week we are reading a reply. I'm going to play the original email and then I will read their reply. Dear TCH. My boyfriend has so many amazing qualities, but his teeth are really bad. I don't know if I can get past it. I have dated a ton of assholes who were very good looking, but always ended up breaking my heart. When I met him, he was good to me from the start, but he was really not my type at all. But we really clicked on the personality level. I will say the sex is pretty amazing. His front teeth are bridges, which means they're fake. And when he smiles, I get so turned off. Not to mention his breath. Oh my god, the dental issues. It's disgusting. I know this sounds so vain, but teeth have always been pretty important to me. He claims he's going to get them fixed, but it's going to cost a fortune. So who knows if that's even true? He's cheap as fuck, but that's another issue anyway. I don't know if I can get over it. I want to because he's an incredible boyfriend who truly loves me. But I don't know, man. I guess I'm shallow. Dear Copacetic hour, what should I do? That was episode 64. Flewed out. You want to check out our responses to what we told her originally? Check out that email. Okay, so she wrote back. Hey, TCH crew. A while back, I wrote in about my boyfriend. He was honestly one of the best men I ever had dated. He treated me amazing, loved me well, and was supportive. Our chemistry was incredible. The problem was he was struggling financially, and more than anything, his teeth and breath were horrible. It got to the point where it was hard to be around him sometimes. When y'all read my email, some of you basically said if I couldn't accept it, I should leave. Someone else said maybe the issue wasn't the man, maybe he just needed to get his teeth fixed. Well, I ended up breaking up with him. I was honest and told him that his teeth and breath were unacceptable and that I couldn't continue with this relationship. Fast forward now, he got a job, he got insurance, and his teeth got fixed. The very issue that I left him over is no longer an issue. The problem is that now he seems like a completely different person. Everywhere I look, people are telling me he's out having fun, dating different women, and living his best life. I finally talked to him and told him I missed him and wanted to see if there was a chance for us again. His response hit me so hard. He said, You left me when I needed you to be my rock. When I was down, you walked away. You'll never be that person for me again. And that hit me like an arrow in my heart. Part of me feels like I made a mistake and should fight for the man I always wanted. Another part of me wonders if I miss my chance and need to let him go. So my question is should I fight for him and try to prove that I've changed, or should I accept that I made a choice and learn from it and move on? Dear Cobacetic Hour, please help.
SPEAKER_05Damn.
SPEAKER_01Give me your thoughts. Give me your thoughts. Give me your thoughts.
SPEAKER_02That's a double woozy. Listen, you treat the executive and person in corporate like you treat the janitor. That's what I gotta say. Because ain't nowhere in hell you treat that man bad and tell him his breath stinks for the whole time at y'all weed. Cause I get it. The breath, okay, the teeth might not be as bad as the breath. Because I can't do stinking breath. And I ain't got the best teeth.
SPEAKER_05So what I'm gonna say to that is The breath is like something that we Is it not something that can be fixed, though? Work maintained.
SPEAKER_02Y'all see me turn a red because the breath.
SPEAKER_01He said he got it fixed, though. She said he got he got it together.
SPEAKER_02Did he get his teeth fixed or did he get the breast fixed with the teeth? The teeth ain't always necessarily the breath. The breath just might come from halatosis, and that's just what it is.
SPEAKER_01She didn't say. She didn't say. She she said it's it's in a way where she wants him back now. That's all she said.
SPEAKER_05So what the what's what's bridges? She said it was bridges. What's bridges?
SPEAKER_01Bridges is like pop in and pop out. Like little pieces that you do they put in your mouth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Because you like missing peace in between.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Or like something that can, it's like a um, not a replace, but it's like you ever see somebody with a retainer?
SPEAKER_05So his so his bad breath could have been because of like he didn't maintain the bridges or something like that.
SPEAKER_02It didn't save but I think the nigga just had bad breath. And the maintaining the bridges part ain't it.
SPEAKER_01It's just that ain't the that y'all going back to the first the first email. The the point is that he got his mouth together now. And she won't back. That's not the point, E. What's the point? That's what she asked. Should she chase him? I'm sure. You want us to answer, should she chase him or should she let him go? That's what she asked for.
SPEAKER_05Well, I'm gonna tell her. Don't tell her based on what you would do.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01Because that's what you look like you you're about to do. She said that he got his teeth fixed. He's out living his best life, and now she's remembering all the things that she liked about him. That he treated her well, and that his sex was good, and that he was such a great person to her. Uh-oh. And now that that problem with his teeth is fixed, she wants him back now. And she asks, should should she chase him? Or should she let it go and you know, deal with losing out someone she thought was perfect?
SPEAKER_02Okay, my real answer, my real answer is coming from because I like I like some type of competition. It's not that the the chase that I feel like I I'm gonna try to get this nigga that I used to be with and I can have him because I'm gonna be able to do that. See, I might just do that. But see, then I might be sitting in my feelings one night, like he don't love me no more, Jody. Like Jody don't love me no more. Like, so that's what I'm thinking. Like, he because he's gonna show eventually, it's gonna feel over. Like the nigga not feeling you no more like he used to, and he was adoring you, you didn't respect it and appreciate it. Exactly. So that's me. I'm gonna get I'm gonna with the little, I I like to chase a little bit and see what I can. But the other side, like you smooth-looze. You gotta go on about your business, girl. You gotta go on about your business and and just watch from the sideline now. Apparently, he that nigga. Like, apparently, with the bad breath and now the six feet, he still might be that nigga. So you still do not the bad breaths.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we don't know if his breath stink no more. Goodness gracious.
SPEAKER_03I'm saying it's still. I'm saying it's okay. So that but I also just feel like it it really, it's giving like the um, this feels really bad because I know this is somebody like, but it's giving like the ugly deckly story, and now you're mad because your friend, like because your friend glowed up after you let him go. Like, baby, you're gonna have to hold that L. That's a lesson. If anything, now you know when the beast comes around next time he's gonna turn into a prince, you're gonna have to give him his due time. Like, I don't, you know. Like you just didn't wait long enough. I don't know what, I don't know. That's kind of messed up. That's messed up.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. In a way, this is why my last relationship ended. Not bad breath, not bad teeth.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_05But but like you do something for a person and you try to show up and be this amazing person every day, and then one day you just aren't all the way there, and then she just automatically just forgets about all the other all the other time where you were present and there, and the one time you couldn't deliver, it's like the rest of it just goes out of the window. Essentially, that's why my last relationship ended. It was all some money, like some some money shit. Like, I didn't take I didn't take care of you for four years, and now that I I don't want to give you, not that I couldn't, but that I don't want to give you a couple of hundred dollars, you all of a sudden have forgotten the car about you, the townhouse, the raising of the child, that's a black rent, the taking care of your grandma. Like, you done forgot all of this because I just because I I will not give you money that you're not gonna do right by. So now we are single, and now I'm homeless, and now I'm living in my car, and now all this shit is happening because me and you broke up, and then two years later, I got three cars, I got an apartment in Athens, I got an apartment in Atlanta, I have two businesses, and I'm up. I got uh, you know what I'm saying? So now every time I see you, it's like, oh, we'll we No, because men, no, listen, because men, when we love, we love unconditionally. Facts. And not to put this on all women, but there are women, there are women that only love based on conditions. And his bad breath was a condition that she just couldn't deal with anymore. So she surrendered all the other good qualities, the sex, probably the vibes, he probably was like everything she ever wanted in a man, but that that was just enough for her to let it go. So I say she probably should let him go because he's gonna always remember, even if they was to get back together, in his heart, he's going to remember when he was down, she left.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So he's gonna be navigating that relationship in fear of falling on again.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like if he feels like he just gets down, he loses a job, or he, you know, he's short on some money, he's gonna have thoughts that she's gonna leave him again, which means he's not gonna be fully committed to that relationship emotionally and mentally. He may be there in the physical, he may be present, but there's gonna be a part of him that is always on defensive because in the moment he needed her most, she left.
SPEAKER_03I'm with you though. I agree. Like, she's gonna have to hold that ill.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like I like I'm not gonna sit here and say I didn't love my ex. It's been over two years, right? But let's let's say we decided to work it out. When I was kind of down, I lost my mom, and I was emotionally just kind of not there. I had a little moment. Because who wouldn't have a moment if you lose your mom?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like if we was to work it out, a part of me, and it may not show, but a part of me is gonna always feel like if I fail, or if I can't deliver in this moment, or if I if I'm not here in this moment, or if my if I if I come up short on something, then there's a chance that she could leave me again. And if I'm if I'm like that, then I'm not fully invested into a relationship. So I'm not saying that she shouldn't chase him and try to prove to him that she wants him back and love him and this and that. I'm just saying she can't, you can't be upset if he doesn't allow you back in because of what happened in the past. And it's, you know, I ain't gonna say it's completely fair to her either, but this is just how most men think.
SPEAKER_03I mean, but I don't think it's I don't think it's un like okay, they call themselves, she called herself shallow, so I don't I don't feel bad saying that. Like, I don't think it's necessarily unfair that a person leave for shallow reasons and then wants to come back for equally shallow reasons, right? Like she don't know what he's going through, or she, you know what I'm saying? She just knows right that other people have said he looks good or he's doing things. She don't know what his life is like right now.
SPEAKER_05Which still feels like a condition. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03Like you his condition improved, and now you're ready to come back around.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And I think he notices that, which is why I feel like you might should just let this one go. Back then they didn't want me. I'm hot. They all own me.
SPEAKER_01You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Look, that's all I thought of while you was reading the emails. I was like, oh, now you want to come back home.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no. She get lost. She gets lost.
SPEAKER_05Because what happened from the time they broke up. But this I will give her this credit. She left him, and I think that that motivated him to fix whatever he needed to fix. So I think I give her credit for that.
SPEAKER_03But didn't she also say, did I miss here? Didn't she say that like he had already said, like, it's something that I'm working on getting fixed?
SPEAKER_05Like it's something that I'm That's a fact. You're right.
SPEAKER_03So this is because that's the problem that because a bridge, like to me, Bridges is like that, you can't have that long term anyway.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like that's not a long-term solution. So you know he's gotta do something else. And why would you think that if this dude is ready to be in your face, that he don't feel uncomfortable going into all these other establishments and all these other spaces? If he knows his girl feel like that, then he knows everybody else is looking the way that you're looking. So if that's the case, why how do you feel comfortable walking away and then being like, oh, you got you like, I mean, I truthfully, all I all I think of when you were talking about teeth, all I could think of was Cardi B and how like she be like, I fix my stuff, and people act for now, he people act like I'm a whole like it's the same Cardi B.
SPEAKER_05Who in the house she was able to have, they was able to have such good sex if she that's what I was trying to figure out too.
SPEAKER_02And his breath, because you breathe a hot breath on me while we like face to face, and I'm just thinking, like, was she like uh like backup, like you know, or was he just like was it never missionary?
SPEAKER_05It was just like maybe, maybe it was not the whole time.
SPEAKER_01This this show, yeah. This show is we we don't talk about stuff like that no more about you know not too in depth. Not too in-depth, yeah, yeah, yeah. What about Jesus? I think we can't just we can talk about it, but y'all was going in depth in it. Like, was he hitting it from the back every time? Like, you know, so we don't need to go that far.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, forgive me. I didn't even know. I'm sorry. I just what did you imply or what did you what did you as the person's partner try to see? Like, is this a health thing? Is this a you need to change your mouthwash situation? Like, did you also and then like did you help in any way? That's my first thought. And then my second, my second thought is like, is how did you up your life while you was gone? Because if you the same person that you was when he left, yeah and he's upgrading, he might be looking at you like, okay, so what am I standing on now?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like, like if I have these things that I can offer now that I didn't have before, what then do you have?
SPEAKER_01I don't even I don't think none of that mattered. I think as men, don't get me wrong, like as you get older, when you're young, you don't really understand this part, but as you get older, you want somebody who's gonna be there for you when when it's all gone, when you rock bottom.
SPEAKER_03That was like an extra effect.
SPEAKER_01If I can't hold it together, you can hold it together. Sure. You know what I'm saying? So and I think that's like missing in today's society, because like, you know, I agree. Uh social media, and social media is not real, but it is real, you know what I'm saying? At least it it leaves people with impressionable thoughts in a way. Yeah. Um, like you can buy love. You can't buy love, you can't buy loyalty, you can't buy um respect. You know what I'm saying? You can't buy whatever. As a man, you want somebody to be there for you. I'm down and out, I'm sick in the bed, I can't do the things I used to do. And in this moment, I need you to to be the one, to be my like he said, be my rock, right? If you can't do that when I'm at my lowest, you definitely can't be there when I'm at my best. And that's just that's just it. There's nothing more to it than that to me.
SPEAKER_03I would argue that that's not just as a man though, right? Like that's as a human.
SPEAKER_01As a human, as a human, yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure, for sure.
SPEAKER_03I just feel like there's a lesson for your writer to be learned here about themselves and what they can do in the future to prevent these types of things from happening in their relationships, whether that's internal or external, how they feel about other people or themselves. Like there's there's just a lot of growth. But it's an L to be held for sure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she gotta hold on out, take it with her.
SPEAKER_05Just uh just just let it ride, Sean. That's it. Let that let that one ride.
SPEAKER_02And don't go riding past that man's house. Just let him go. Don't get this talking now. Just leave leave him alone now. Leave that baby alone.
SPEAKER_05Okay. I will say this. If it's something that he really wants, he's gonna come back.
SPEAKER_01I think he be dumb. But I'm sorry, listener. I know you wrote in and you love the show, but I think he be dumb to come back from what you told me.
SPEAKER_03On the other side of that, though, too, on the other side of that, just the same way that you were saying in the back of his mind, it's always gonna be she gonna leave. I also feel like if I was in her position and somebody and somebody did try to take me back for doing something like that, I feel like I would always have it in me like, is he really doing this? Like, is he out for revenge? Is he gonna wait till I'm at my lowest? Like, I would definitely have that thought.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know that all women would have that thought, but I would have that thought. But she should have that thought in that case. I feel like at this point, like you gotta protect your like as a place of if you want to be able to 100% trust somebody, they should never be revisited. Conversation should be like, you know, if somebody decides they want to talk about it and and settle the thing, sure. But like relationship, mmm, not looking good.
SPEAKER_01The mature me wants to say, yes. If y'all talk, y'all can work it out. And y'all can, you know what I'm saying? That's that's what happens in relationships. So sometimes you get to a point where like it's hard right now, and y'all gotta work it out somehow, and you gotta sit down and work it out. But I feel like that situation is gonna be hard because not only did you leave him that, he probably had confidence knowing, like, yeah, I know I'm messed up. Oh, like I got my girl. I got my girl. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, you know what I'm saying? You probably messed up his confidence a little bit, you know what I'm saying? And uh, like they've been saying, that's gonna be hard to come back from regardless, for sure. This week's episode is sponsored by the design lab at Shutter Shock and Co. Today's hood situation is what's the worst meal a significant other has ever made for you? And what was it and what happened?
SPEAKER_03I'm really racking. The problem is I married a really great cook.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_03No, and I'm trying to think of the people before that. It's just not working. So, like, instead, um, I'm gonna tell you the best one because who doesn't want to brag on their spouse? Okay, okay, okay so my husband has been barbecuing a lot lately. Um, and we've been um eating a lot. I do not typically love barbecue food at all. Like I'm just not I it's look, it's cool every once in a while. The smoke, it'd be too much for me. Okay.
SPEAKER_01It'd be too much for me. That's that other side, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Cause what uh it's it I can't do no, I'm just saying I can't do it all the time. Like I can't every day. I can't. Okay. He would eat it every day if he could. Me too. Um however, right now, uh and last so last week there was no there well not last week, a couple weekends ago, there was a barbecue we're at. Okay. And we went and it was these people who set up on a big barbecue, you know, like the big things they'd be come competing and stuff.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And he had made ribs the weekend before, and he was like, Oh, these are the best ribs I'd ever made. Fell off the bone, they was great. I was like, Yeah, these are really good for a person who doesn't typically eat wings, not because I don't like them. Right, right. Not because I don't like them, but because I, as a larger girly, often don't like the way that I am perceived while eating them publicly. So I don't eat them.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay. All right. I hear what you're saying.
SPEAKER_03Like, yeah, it's just not a thing that I love to do. So he was like, nah, we're gonna go, I'm gonna make these ribs. So he made great ribs, they were amazed, like really fell off the bone amazing. We went to the barbecue fest. Yeah when I tell you I've been into them things, I was like, please take me home. I will eat your leftovers. I do not want this. This is gross. This is gross. And this man, we went, we we tried three different ones. All of them had like, I don't know if y'all ever been to barbecue fest, but people who like compete in barbecue, they have these big signs where they tell you all the places that they've won. Yeah. And it just really put a lot of confidence in what be happening in the kitchen in my house because that man, I was like, go give me the leftovers. I want the leftovers from last week. I will take those over whatever they did.
SPEAKER_01I don't want to. Not from last week. Goodness gracious.
SPEAKER_03I will take them. I will take them over whatever that was that unseasoned whatever I was eating. So I don't have anything bad. My wife was around. I don't know who was in the backpack, but everybody at all the tents we went to was brown.
SPEAKER_06It was brown.
SPEAKER_03Okay. It was a lot darker than this. That was brown. It was not giving. It was not giving. So shout out, shout out to the the man that I decided to marry. He's great and he can cook really good. I'm sorry it wasn't a bad one. I tried really hard to think of one I couldn't.
SPEAKER_05So um I was dealing, I was dealing with this girl, man, and oh okay, disclaimer. I I probably I can't deal with hood girls no more.
SPEAKER_06Like, I'm done with it.
SPEAKER_05I'm done with it. Like, I'm done with it. I grew up in the hood. Um, five, he knows me. So I I literally grew up my whole life in the street until I got to college. Like, but so I I go to see this girl one day, well, one night, and uh I stopped at a gas station. You know how you like hit a girl like, hey, I'm at the gas station, you need something?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And um, she like, yeah, I'm gonna text you. I'm like that. Bro, she texts me like I need three bags of hot Cheetos, I need uh two two bug juices, two Twigs, uh uh, a cigarello. Like she sent me a whole list. This is fright one, so this is gonna be set up in like sprite, that's fright one.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_05So I'm like, I I text, I didn't ask for a grocery list, I just do you need something to drink? Like, I know you're cooking for me tonight, do you need something out of the store? She's like, Oh yeah, I need all of this, and then grab a two-liter sprite and I'm about to cry up. So I end up getting the stuff. I go to the girl Crib, I text her, I'm like, now she stayed in the hood that I grew up in, but at the time, she don't know I grew up in this hood. I ain't really said, you know, I ain't really made it known. Like, I know people out here or whatever. So the hood is set up like up the hill, down the hill. Down the hill is like where you where all the fights and stuff happen at. Like the violent stuff happened down the hill. I grew up in six, which is like down the hill. And then all the like drug stuff, that's like up the hill, like the junkies, the druggies, all that stuff is like up the hill, right? She tells me she in the building 20, and I know that's up the hill.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So in my mind, I'm like, man, she probably a crackhead or something. You know what I'm saying? I don't know. But in my mind, like, you say in 20, you either a crackhead or a prostitute or something. If you in that building, right? So I get up there at 20, I text from my outside. So she like, give me 30 minutes. I'm trying to um put my kids to sleep, or whatever. So I'm like, you ain't tell me you had kids.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say 30 minutes. What?
SPEAKER_05That's right, strike two. Strike two, right? Okay, 30 minutes go by. I go in the crib. Oh, you wanted to go. I walk in the crib. Listen, because I because I I wanted to crack. This is like one of them girls, like I wanted all through middle school, high school.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Not you waited your whole life. Yeah, she's been bad. Like, she's been fine my whole life. I done went out to school. You know, I'm him now. Like, you know what I'm saying? I got a little soft and you know, yeah. So I'm like, I'm spinning back on, you know, on stuff I ain't never get, whatever. So I'm I'm waiting a little 30 minutes. I'm fine, a little 30 minutes, okay, whatever. So she called me in the crib. I walk in, this strike three, but I I still but I was motivated. She had a dude. She had a dude on the couch, sleep. What? So I'm like, who this? She's like, oh, this is my baby daddy. So I'm like, why you telling me you finna cook for me? Your baby daddy? She's like, no, he don't live here. He just staying, he just spent, he just sleeping for a little bit, he's finna go or whatever.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_05So I'm like, all right, whatever. I I know I'm finna eat, and then I'm I'm finna get up out of here. I'm finna get that and then I'm finna get up out of here or whatever.
SPEAKER_00So that's all I can say.
SPEAKER_05I'm gonna tell you the meal. I did not eat it, but I'm gonna tell you what she cooked.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_05She cooked. She had asked me like prior to that what my favorite meal was, and I was like, baked chicken, rice, mac and cheese, green beans, and cornbread. That's my favorite meal. I can eat it every day. So she cooked it. Right? So I get in the crib, she got all the food already done and stuff, but I go when I go in people's crib, I'm looking around like trying to see roaches and whatever's going on. I'm looking at the meal do on the wall. I know this is a hood, so I expect some roaches. Like I grew up in the hood, I know some, I know it's gonna be some roaches. But I walk in her crib and at first sight I don't see roaches or whatever. So I'm like, can I use a bathroom? And then that's my little, that's my little test to see like, let me see what the bathroom is. Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I go use a bathroom, bro. I flick the light on, all I see is roaches. So now I'm like, nah, nah, I'm probably I'm probably not gonna eat here, right? So I come out of the bathroom, I'm trying to make up an excuse, like, I need to go, I'm gonna have an emergency. She was like, Oh, we can skip the meal, like, we can skip the meal and just get down to business. So I'm like, you know, a little light bulb go off, dude. So we go to the room, she got the little, she got one of the kids in the bed. So I'm like, we we can't do this. You got a kid in the bed. Oh, he can sleep through a storm.
SPEAKER_06No!
SPEAKER_05This is a one-year-old. He wasn't, I didn't even know you had kids and he in the bed. So I'm like, you can't put him in the room with the other kids. She's like, well, they ain't got no bed. So this I'm just letting it, I'm just giving up the synopsis as to why I didn't eat the food. So, y'all don't judge me because I know Sharice gonna judge me. But I ended up, you know, whatever, in the bed, right beside the kid. I had just forgot that I told her to put a plate in the microwave. And she was like, You sure? Do you want me to wrap it up? And I'm like, nah, you ain't gotta wrap it. Like, we're gonna be back here. It ain't gonna be long. Like, I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna get this plate, and I'm out of here. Like, I ain't even sitting to eat at this point. I wanted it back because it was like I've been looking at this girl since I'm seeing. You feel me?
SPEAKER_03So I understand.
SPEAKER_05Go back there or whatever. I understand. The little boy, the little boy, surprisingly, did not wake up. That's now that I think about it, he did not wake up. But whatever. So we so it go down, we leave out of the room. We probably was in there for every bit of 30 minutes. 30 minutes at that, right? So we walked back in the kitchen. She was like, um, I know you're probably not gonna eat this plate. And I said, why wouldn't I eat it? And she said, because I realized I didn't wrap the plate up. And I said, You what you think? The microwave, you think the microwave got roasted? No. And she said, I'm gonna just say I should have wrapped the plate up. Listen, on my mama, bro. When we opened this microwave, bro, it was like 30 roaches on this food, bro. Like, oh my god. Good and the food looked good. But it was literally like a plate full of roaches, and I just was like, nah, like, I'm out of here. Like, she's like, Not that you got what you came for. Like, I'm like, I make it up to you. This is so embarrassing. And I'm like, I kind of snapped. I'm like, if you knew you had roaches, regardless of me telling you to wrap the plate up or not, you should have just wrapped it up.
SPEAKER_06Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_02She's like, so if you're mad about the roaches, yes, well, yeah. I'm mad about your baby daddy being here.
SPEAKER_05What do you want to do? When I came out of the room, he wasn't even there no more. I wouldn't even tripping on him, but I really wanted his plate. And it was roaches on the plate all on the stove. Like, I then I started getting paranoid. So because she had the lights off. So make you start itchy, yeah. Now I'm seeing stuff moving the wall. I'm thinking it's rats in the house now. So, and to this day, bro, this girl, like, I randomly bump into her sometimes because I'll be performing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And she's like a promoter. So we randomly bump into each other sometimes, and she'll be like, You ain't have to ghost me. I mean, I understand the situation, but I mean, I could have just came in your house and cooked, and I straight up said, You ain't coming nowhere. Come to my house.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03Bring the mouse with you, no thank you.
SPEAKER_05Bring the witch.
SPEAKER_03I mean, you and a party of five? No, thank you.
SPEAKER_05That's my story, bro. Like, nah, like, so hey, that was good. I'm over it. Now I just cook for myself, bro. I ain't got time, bro.
SPEAKER_03He said they don't even cook for me no more. I don't do that.
SPEAKER_05Uh uh. If I can't sit there and watch you cook it, bro, I'm I'm not even.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05It's a witch.
SPEAKER_00That is funny.
SPEAKER_03So not the trauma.
SPEAKER_05It is. I do have I do have emotional trauma based on this. I do.
SPEAKER_00That is funny.
SPEAKER_05She's still fine though. I give her that. She's fine.
SPEAKER_06Oh shit.
SPEAKER_05Every time I look at her, I'll be like, bruh, you the girl with the roaches.
SPEAKER_06Roaches!
SPEAKER_01Get out of my house. The girl with the roaches.
SPEAKER_05That's my story, y'all. I'm sorry it took so long.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's funny. I needed every detail. Yeah, we needed that detail. That was good. That was real good. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Stories like these are games, but I hear you though.
SPEAKER_01I understand.
SPEAKER_03Oh, he finna go crazy.
SPEAKER_01I get it, my boy. I understand. I also understand ghosting her after that, though.
SPEAKER_06Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. I don't even care how good it was. It don't matter, honestly.
SPEAKER_05Like the like the girl said in the email, I guess I'm shallow, bro. I guess I'm shallow, bro.
SPEAKER_01I don't think you shall. Not for that.
SPEAKER_03I think I think you did what you went there to do and you went home. That's what I think.
SPEAKER_01It's just so disappointing. And especially she was cool. She she had you there for that.
SPEAKER_05She knew, yeah, she knew.
SPEAKER_01Like, she was like, I don't know if you're gonna want this food.
SPEAKER_05I just so that means you knew if you put this in your microwave, it's gonna be roaches on it.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05Just wrap the plate up, put it in the I don't know, bruh. She knew, bruh. She set me up, bruh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That's crazy. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_05Then you had the audacity to argue with me, like, well, if you would have ate it when it when it was hot, like, sir. I'm glad I didn't. You forgot, you told me we can skip. We you said we can skip this. Yeah, yeah. And I wasn't finna pass that up.
SPEAKER_01In the beginning, I honestly thought you were finna say she made you a prison meal with the Slim Jems and the Truthfully. Truthfully.
SPEAKER_03I was like, not a cooker.
SPEAKER_01I thought she made you a cooker for sure. I definitely thought. I thought that's where it started.
SPEAKER_03You said the bug juice, and I was like, uh, what is happening?
SPEAKER_01She's making him a prison meal. That was crazy. That's crazy. I did not, I did not see that coming. Yeah, I thought she was making you a prison meal. That's funny.
SPEAKER_02So I would like to just say this first and foremost. Um, I am the cook when it comes to relationships. You look like you can cook though. I can throw down. I ain't gonna hold you. I wish I could feed the world once I'm able to. But so I will say this. I try to be selfish in relationships and not try to overstep and cook all the time. But I would much rather prefer me to cook. And that goes for everybody, like my mom, I couldn't my mom. I could, you know, like I think not that they can't cook, but I'm just like, I like to do that. I'm gonna go with the story of one of my kids that I might have been in like the first romantic relationship. You know, he tried to do the wine and everything else, like horrible wine. You know, a little bit, but I could see he was like, he didn't know what he was like. I like red wine like he brought some lifetime. He cooked salmon over pasta, like while he was cooking it, I don't think that he feeds it the weenie with the meat because they were both very, very softy. So this situation you have to try to we we kind of dislike vibe in and you don't want to really say nothing, so you like in that little weird spot where you don't really want to say much.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, so you sit there and try to eat. As I'm sitting there and I'm eating, like I take the first bite, I just taste nothing but soft. And I'm like, okay, take another bite, you know, drink some wine, you know, clear your palate, take another bite, took another bite, it was like stronger than the first bite. So I'm just sitting there and I'm just like, I look at him and I'm like, it's good, it's really good, but I feel like you kind of uh heavy-handed on the seasoning, like it was kind of heavy-handed. He's like, What you mean? I'm like, girl, you tasting what I'm tasting, because uh, I know we ate out the same pot. Like, I don't know if you just like saucy food or what the case may be, but um, I'm not this, so I know what seasoned food is, and I know what saucy food is, and that was some saucy food. So then I started taking more bites, and I'm like, I just said I can't do it. And he was like, What? He was like, What? I was like, I can't even eat no more of this. We was just like, you know, we're trying to get to know each other. Yeah, but your food is saucy, and I don't mean to stroke like not stroke your ego about it, but it's like your food is very saucy, sir, and you could have went less less heavy on that.
SPEAKER_01That's tough.
SPEAKER_02But that's just the worst story because the moral of the story is I actually cook almost every meal when I'm in a relationship and I don't mind doing that, so for me, this is this is in college.
SPEAKER_01This is when I at a this is at Western. Me and my wife now are living together. This is either right before my wife got cancer or like right after she had beet cancer the first time. Um so she was like, you know, doing more stuff or whatever, we're living together. She cooks, right? She cooks, she makes like mac and cheese and cake chicken legs and I think green beans or something. And I I'm I work third shift. I go to school in the mornings and I work at night at my job at night. I worked at the um I work at the newspaper in college. So uh like the local newspaper. So I'm down at my job, I'm working thirds, and she's like, hey, I made you some food or whatever for work, whatever, I take the food to work. Boom, right? You know, a few hours go by, I'm hungry, you know what I'm saying? Cause like I just woke up, I haven't eaten anything. I've been I was at school because I go from from work right into class, right? So I'm up for who knows how long, maybe like 16 hours, and then I go home, go to sleep, and then get up to go to work at this point in my life. And um I pull out her food, put it in the microwave, pull it out, I'm eating, you know, eating the green beans, eating the macaroni and cheese, whatever. I take a bite and it's shaking. And I was like, it wasn't rare. No. What happened was I was like, what the hell? What did you put in this chicken? She was like, What do you mean? It's just regular seasoning. I was like, it's it tastes like you're trying to poison me. What is what is in this? It tastes like you're trying to poison me. It's sweet. Who eats sweet chicken? We've been dating, but uh we ain't been dating long enough for me to know like she got some uncultural norms I just don't know about yet. Like, who eats sweet chicken, bro? Like, what is this? Sweet chicken is crazy. And come to find out, she put cinnamon on the chicken because she mistaked the paprika for cinnamon.
unknownOh man.
SPEAKER_01When I tell you it was so bad. I could only imagine. Sweet chicken legs are the chicken is crazy. It's the most terrible meal I've ever had.
SPEAKER_02I thought you were gonna say she she coated it with jiffy cornbread made.
SPEAKER_01No, no, she put cinnamon on it. That's what she covered it with. Cinnamon.
SPEAKER_05Cinnamon a little darker than um Patrica, though, ain't it?
SPEAKER_01Uh it's it's it's fairly the same, especially depending on the bottle. If the bottles are close, you got the same brand. You know what I'm saying? You got the same brand of bottle. It looked very similar. Oh, when I tell you I was so mad, I had to go. Because you're like, this I'm a broke college student. I'm taking care of she, I'm taking care of her and our house and going to school and going to work all at the same time. So I didn't eat again until like when I got home 16 hours later or whatever. And when I say I was so frustrated about that, that almost ruined the relationship. That sweet chicken. Because I didn't, I at the time, I went this whole time not knowing that she put the cinnamon in the chicken. I didn't know that until I got back home. That she couldn't figure out what had happened. Uh you know what I'm saying. What are you talking about? She thought I was tripping. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_05Bro, you would have left her with sweet chicken, but you wouldn't have been no better than that other girl.
SPEAKER_01Hey, I take my food serious. I know, I know, I know, I know you do. Yo, what? Oh my god. When I tell you that was like the worst thing, I still tease her about that to this day. Like, don't be putting cinnamon in the chicken. It's an inside joke now. Like, that that is never going away. Oh, that was the worst piece of chicken I ever had.
SPEAKER_05Bro, I remember in college where you thought somebody stole your noodles.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, yeah. Heck shit, heck shit. And you was finna flip out. That was the thieving part though. It wasn't necessarily the noodles part. Don't be stealing from me. I don't like stealing.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03He said it didn't matter what it was.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it could have been about to crash out over them noodles, man.
SPEAKER_01It could have been some Vienna sausages. Don't be stealing from me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04One of y'all niggas stole my noodles. Yeah, don't be like, no, bro. We ain't took no leads like y'all the only people be in my room.
SPEAKER_00So don't be stupid.
SPEAKER_04Somebody got my noodles.
SPEAKER_01And plus noodles was like uh jailhouse uh commissary back there. Back commissary.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, noodles in college was like luxury.
SPEAKER_01We was in the hood, but we lived in the hood basically. You know what I'm saying? Our dorm was was gangster. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? We live we basically was in the projects at Alabama State.
SPEAKER_03They don't even have our dorm family housing in college.
SPEAKER_01Our dorm isn't even there no more. They had to tear it down.
SPEAKER_03You know what? Mine isn't either. My my what I lived in on campus is not there either.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow.
SPEAKER_03Have you seen New Jack City?
SPEAKER_01No, I haven't seen it. Oh, New Jack City? Yeah, yeah, the movie. Okay, the movie.
