Organizational Zen: The Art of Sorting in the Workplace
Oct 25, 2023 Season 13 Episode 4
New Home Star

We all have a desire to be more productive, not only to show up more efficiently in our work, but also in our personal lives. The spaces we inhabit can either contribute to the stressors of our daily lives, or they can create a sense of calm. The way we approach organization, through the tools we use and the way we’ve sorted our physical space, can greatly affect how we feel day to day, so it’s very important to find what works for us as individuals. In this episode, I talk to Christin Mayer of Life Sorted for a beautiful conversation about organization and planning.

Christin Mayer is a passionate advocate for finding simplicity in the art of organizing and planning. As a coach and creator of Life Sorted, Christin is dedicated to supporting individuals in discovering the beauty and peace that comes from streamlining their lives and making room for what truly matters.

In this conversation we discuss:

  • The importance of creating organization in a workplace environment
  • Different organizational styles and how identifying yours can lead to more productivity
  • How a well-organized space can boost your efficiency, creativity, and sense of calm
  • The strengths of different project management tools
  • Trusting your intuition when sorting and choosing your tools
  • How employers can foster an environment of sorting and organization in their teams
  • Bringing intentionality into the practice of sorting, and honoring your pace

For this week’s practice, I invite you to do the 30-second laugh break that Christin described in the episode, to move your energy and infuse a sense of play into your organizational practice.
