Anne Milneck is the owner of Red Stick Spice Company. Originally from LaPlace, Louisiana, Anne has lived in Baton Rouge for more than 20 years. She studied journalism at LSU and earned a culinary degree from the John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University.
Caroline Merryman discovered her love for baking at 8 years old by teaching herself how to make cakes and cupcakes. This hobby grew even more during the COVID lockdown when she started baking lots of cookies and delivering them to her friends as a way to stay busy and not get bored. She started an Instagram page for her cookies just for fun, but was soon receiving requests to purchase them.
She continued to sell her cookies while attending college, until April of 2021 when she decided to put college on hold and focus on giving 100% to Caroline's Cookies. Her dedication paid off with daily lines wrapping around the building of her store as well as selling out of cookies every day.
During her 19+ years in business, Ericka Young has served over 500 families as a certified financial coach. Her specialty is helping people crush debt so that they can design a vibrant and intentional life. She believes that personal finance goes beyond the numbers and has developed creative ways to break down the mental and experience-based barriers to financial success.
In 2017, she wrote her 1st best-selling book, Naked and Unashamed: 10 Money Conversations Every Couple Must Have.
While helping her 2 daughters in their college decisions, Ericka witnessed first-hand the many barriers to accessing a debt-free college education. She has made it her mission to help parents and prospective students understand how to navigate these systems so no one in the family carries student loan debt through her college financial readiness workshops.
Jay Grymes serves as Louisiana's State Climatologist, appointed by Governor Jeff Landry and housed jointly at the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and Louisiana State University. With over three decades of experience in climate science, broadcast meteorology, and emergency management, Grymes is nationally recognized for his expertise in tropical meteorology, climate monitoring, and disaster response.
Grymes established LOSC's reputation for excellence in emergency response. After two decades as Chief Meteorologist at WAFB-TV (CBS) , he returned to lead LOSC in 2024, bringing both scientific rigor and exceptional communication skills to the role.
Since his return, Grymes has spearheaded the modernization of LOSC's services, including the launch of the AI-powered Climate Explorer, enhanced data delivery systems, and strengthened partnerships with state and federal agencies.
