Chris Casey is a veteran journalist who covered a variety of beats, including government, education, immigration, and arts and entertainment, at newspapers in Colorado, Minnesota and Oregon. In 2011, he shifted to higher education, joining the communications office at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz. He is currently the director of digital storytelling at CU Anschutz Medical Campus, where he enjoys telling stories about innovative and often groundbreaking research in the health sciences. 

Thomas Flaig, MD, is vice chancellor of research for the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. A medical oncologist, Dr. Flaig has been part of CU since 2003, when he arrived as an oncology fellow. Dr. Flaig has significant clinical and translational research experience, having led both local and national multi-center clinical trials and served as the local principal investigator on a large number of Phase I, II and III studies. He previously served as medical director of the clinical trials office and associate director of clinical research at the CU Cancer Center.
