S3 EP21 He Almost Quit the Trade… Now He’s Building a $1M Business | Amelio Martini

How do electricians actually grow their business without burning out or guessing their way through service calls?
In this episode of The Million Dollar Electrician, Clay Neumeyer and Joseph Lucanie talked with Amelio Martini of Rizen Electric about the shift that transformed his service electrician business and unlocked real electrician business growth.
Most electricians aren’t failing because they lack skill, they’re failing because they’re guessing their way through business. Amelio shared his journey from losing money on jobs and struggling to manage his workload to discovering a system focused on serving homeowners at the highest level. Instead of rushing through service calls or competing on price, he learned how to slow down, present options confidently, and build long-term relationships with clients.
For electricians trying to achieve real electrician business growth, this conversation reveals why building a service electrician business requires more than technical skill, it requires a repeatable process and a commitment to serving customers the right way.
Clay, Joseph, and Amelio also discuss how shifting from transactional jobs to long-term client relationships can dramatically improve revenue, trust, and business stability. If you’ve ever wondered how electricians grow their business without working more hours or taking on more stress, this episode breaks down the mindset and systems that make it possible.
The shift didn’t just improve Amelio’s revenue, it completely changed how he approaches business, customer relationships, and growth in a small-town market.
If you're an electrician looking to build a better service business, this conversation will challenge how you think about pricing, customer relationships, and the future of your company.

Process Over Guessing
SPEAKER_03Find a process, no matter what it is. Follow it. Don't guess for the rest of your life. Find a process that works, that's beneficial. I always live by perfect practice makes perfect, you know, because anybody can practice, and practice doesn't make perfect if you do it wrong. But perfect practice makes perfect every time. Stop sweating all the small stuff. Let it roll off your back and just keep moving forward in life. The more hesitation that you allow for, the worse off you'll be. If you know your trade, be confident in what you know and it'll come natural. And if you don't know the trade, learn it until it becomes natural.
SPEAKER_01Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to the Million Dollar Electrician Podcast, where we help home service pros like you supercharge your business and spark up those sales.
SPEAKER_02I'm Joseph Lucani, and together my co-host Clay New Meyer, we're here to share the secrets that have helped electricians sell over a million dollars in a single service band.
SPEAKER_00Now it's time for sales. It's time for sale. It's time to become a million-dollar electrician.
Meet Emilio From Risen Electric
SPEAKER_01Hello, hello, and welcome back to another great episode of Million Dollar Electrician. I'm your host, Clay Newmeier. With me as always, Joseph, and not with us as always. We've got a great guest today, Emilio Martini, Risen Electric. Man, are we pumped to have you here today? Emilio, welcome to the show. How are you feeling, brother?
SPEAKER_03I'm pumped to be here, man.
SPEAKER_01I appreciate it. Thank you. Awesome. Awesome. We're super pumped to have you. Joe, how are you doing today?
SPEAKER_02I am feeling great. Literally just getting over getting sick. I'm feeling like I'm getting the climbs coming back. I'm gonna breathe through my nose. I'm feeling blessed, got great energy, working on some awesome stuff. So honestly, the ball is rolling.
SPEAKER_01I'm a happy man. Can you hear out of your left ear? That's what everyone, well, no one except me wants to know.
SPEAKER_02No, I got a double ear, double sinus infection. I'm still can't hear out of my left ear, but it's okay. God granted me a spare, so I should be fine.
SPEAKER_01Only you, man. You attract uh lots and lots of service and sales, but you also attract uh sinus and infections and ear infections, apparently.
SPEAKER_02That's my thing. What can you do?
Vision: Family Culture And Growth
SPEAKER_01Awesome. Well, the reason we have Emilio here is because Emilio has done something really, really important in our community and for himself and his own journey, but he kind of shook the ground a little bit for us, Emilio. We started seeing you in the open circuit in the SLE Pro app. Uh, how did you find us in the first place, man? What brought you our way?
SPEAKER_03The podcast, and I've seen you in uh the residential uh service business page on Facebook. Um found you there. Joe speaks my language. Clay has the kind of brain that I desire to have, and I dream big. And Clay, you know, I just I love, absolutely love what you've built here and the uh the environment around it. So it's been a blessing. I could tell just from the podcast and the questions that you would ask your people that you would have on. Like, what is your business centered around? Is it is it get in, get out, or is it actually serving your customer? And man, that caught my attention a lot.
SPEAKER_01I love that you said that. And it's gotta feel great to be a listener, avid listener, and then be on the show. So congratulations, man. You caught our attention for similar reasons. Uh, we love how you approach this and have found ways to leverage our methods and and whatever attracted you here to go and use that for your customers and and center yourself on service just the same. So uh tip for tat, man, it's uh it's an ecosystem. We're happy to have you uh a part of it. What is that vision that you kind of mentioned? You know, if if you're sharing that with us, what does that look like for Risen? How will you know when you've realized it, man?
Falling Out And Back In Love With Work
SPEAKER_03My vision for Risen Electric is to literally bring light into every home that we step into and to grow so big that we are not just a known name in my little small town, but across all northern Arizona is the goal. And the the vision is to have a to work with family where the business is a family environment and not, yeah, man. I remember dreading going to work, loving the skill and the trade that I do, but all the other crap, like and that's when I started the business. I'm like, I'm not I'm not gonna work in that environment. I'm different than most of the trades people I feel like that I've been around, and that you know, I'm not a hard ass. I don't act like I know everything, and and you know what I mean? I don't want all this and that, man. I and I want people that are humble around that know more than me, but are just as humble or more, you know what I mean? You know, some I want that.
SPEAKER_02Some of that you said I think is really, really cool is how you're like, you know, you want to build that family environment. And normally, I'm sure the listeners in the background who are like, oh yeah, I hear that at my company, it just means an extra pizza party on Friday. You know, but it I one thing I've learned about you is that it actually is real. Like you treat your team very, very well, and you're an absolute pleasure having class, you're a genuinely good person. So I can imagine what a family with including with you would be like.
SPEAKER_01You know what? I I heard something too. If I could just throw it in there quick, because I heard a bunch of hands raised. I saw Joey, you said, yeah. That whole I fell out of love with the work, even if it was for a moment, like how many electricians have felt that? In fact, if you're listening or watching us right now, go ahead and comment below that you fell out of love too for a little bit. Maybe you're feeling that way right now. Then this show is probably for you. This is probably the one to listen to because I have a feeling you're gonna find your way back here with Emilio's help today. So many people feel that. I felt that. Joe, you felt that, right?
SPEAKER_02100%, man. And I'll say when the grind hits the stone and you're like, you know what, I'm busting out 14, 16, 18 hour days trying to make things done. You're the only one doing it. It's it's hard, you know. But at the same time, a grindstone's there for a reason. Eventually you get to eat the bread.
Swallow The Frog: Beat Overthinking
SPEAKER_01What's making you in love with it again, Emilio? What are you loving in your business right now? Oh man.
SPEAKER_03So I love that everything is always different. Every situation, every home, every customer. It's not the same thing over and over. The grunt like my uh one of my biggest challenges in life has been follow-through. And I'm just very transparent and open about it. Follow like I have dreams, I have plans, I have projects, I work on all these things, and then man, the follow-through was rough. But I don't know, this niche in the service industry has really just been uh start a task, excited about it all the way through. You know, uh something Joe taught me is swallow the frog first, and that has really changed um a lot for me. Uh actually, Joe, I've really taken that to heart a lot because I used to do everything easy and think about the hard thing, and then I find myself overanalyzing a lot. So it's helped me not to overanalyze getting to the solution, just get there. I've been doing this long enough, it it does come natural, and so you get to the solution quicker when you don't overthink everything.
SPEAKER_01Another relation moment, no overthinkers out there, right? No perfectionists in this crew.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was gonna say electricians are like primarily known to be the perfectionist people that people don't want to work with. But you know, at the same time, you're right. You know, you have to be willing to be present over perfect. And when I say eat the big frog first, it's like do the uncomfortable thing first. And then the momentum you've built from that allows you to get so much more done than dreading that heavy thing. And the heavy thing can feel different for people. It could be, I don't want to write that email, I don't want to call that customer back, or it could be I gotta finish this install. Heavy is different for everyone. So I'm just proud of you for being able to pick it up and pick it up and run with it. Thanks, bro.
First Wins Using Options And Pricing
SPEAKER_01What do you, Emilio? What are you most excited or proud of that you've been able to accomplish already in this year since diving into the SLE pro app? I know you've had a series of wins. We had almost 40,000 recorded. I think we're 30 and a half, right in there in wins that you were moments where you felt compelled to go post it in the group and talk about this thing that just happened to you. Is there one or two moments in the last you know month or so that have stood out for you where you really felt empowered by this or particularly proud of it?
SPEAKER_03Man, yeah, there's there's a few uh times already. I mean, it's hard to explain what first, but man, I remember landing like okay, so I remember being nervous the very first time walking in to present options. This is all new and I don't care. I'm running with it because I know that this works. Like I the reviews, if anybody has any question, just go look at all the testimonials, all the reviews. We're all we're all winning here on some level, whether it's small as me or grand, like you know, Sherman and and and the other guys, you know. So the I remember being nervous that first time presenting options, but not caring. And I felt empowered in that moment, even though I didn't get the job, even though I did a terrible job, um, even though none of it worked out right, I felt empowered because I I had faith, I trusted the system that I was learning, and I just knew I had to figure it out. And so then the next opportunity to present options, I closed a job. That I mean, it's not a huge win, but it is to me because it it was a job that might have charged 1800 to two grand before that I closed at like 4600, or I think you have that number there, Clay. That was massive. I mean, I remember coming home telling my wife, babe, it's working. It it's gonna work. Like we're we're out of this. We we're we're in the clear. This is gonna work. It doesn't matter how long it takes. And that was a huge just uh we went and celebrated for sure.
Why Memberships Matter For Electricians
SPEAKER_01I'm sure that's amazing. Yeah, and you're right. I do have some notes in front of me. So if this was the January 7th, it was$4, uh$600 after your first day of using the process and offering options. You closed three out of five calls, two sales included memberships, you offered six options and applied your service rate pricing. So again, congrats to you, man, for having the audacity and that high bias to action. That's what we see that works is just the people that get to the grind tend to get to the good stuff too. Joe, would you agree with that, brother?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, honestly, Ernest, I just gotta say, Emilio, it's incredibly impressive seeing what you do because you lead with so much faith. Like you just the fact that you're like, day one, I'm gonna try it. And even though you said I didn't get that first sale, you're like, this is gonna work. And then the second one. And even better, the thing that really stands out to me is the fact that included memberships. Because memberships are this thing that electricians just are so hesitant towards where they're like HVAC and plumbing and roofing and everyone else has figured it out, except for electricians. But the fact that you were like, you know what, I'm gonna just include it day one, we're gonna make it happen, and then sold all your memberships was clearly just top tier, man.
SPEAKER_03Dude, it was so crazy. I sold these memberships, and I'm like, this isn't for everybody. I'm doing something wrong. I was like, no way to make it.
SPEAKER_01Can we call a pause on that one? I know it's been a while since we talked about this. Joe, you're welcome to swing this front of the park, but why can't the memberships be for everyone?
Before The System: Losses And Burnout
SPEAKER_02Here's the thing the ultimate goal to membership is to identify the kind of client that genuinely and truly wants to be served at the highest level. Because what it includes is I'm gonna prioritize you. I'm gonna prioritize you over any of my other customers, meaning that like during the storms, during the bad situations, we'll keep open for you, even if we shut our borders to everyone else. It offers the after hours emergency service, which doesn't have to include 24-7, but it means I'll be more flexible with my time so I can work with you specifically. You know, not charging the diagnostic fees or not nickel and diming your customers. So they're gonna call you for more things because you're like, you know what? I'm interested. I my lights like I want to know why it's happening. And then having the annual safety inspections. But here's the thing when everyone's first class, no one is. So the goal is that you don't want more than like 30 to 40 percent to take the membership because what ends up happening is then you end up having this huge demand and you're not actually setting yourself for the right place. Because the end result is I want to work with people, I want a tribe of people who work exclusively with my company, who like us, who are invested in us, and not I just bought a membership because it includes a discount, or I just bought the membership because it meant you'd come out the same day. It's I bought from you because I believe in your vision, I believe in your mission, I'm gonna refer you, I'm gonna call you for everything, and you're my client, you're my guy for life.
SPEAKER_01Really important. It's really important stuff. Yeah. So thank you for clearing us up on that. Emilio, you told us a bit of some of the good stuff that's been happening for you and uh love the uh appreciation you've shared with us. What was this like before you found the podcast, the group, and decided to uh take this leap of faith with us? What was business doing then? How are you feeling about it?
SPEAKER_03Um should I should I be extremely honest here and tell you my background or yeah, as much as you're comfortable with it, man?
SPEAKER_01Like um there's no limits for us. I was told recently we used to swear a lot more, even so you're even welcome to curse for some of the old boys that still love the old style.
Injury, Faith, And Choosing A New Path
Inside The Open Circuit Experience
Less Calls, Higher Care, Better Sleep
Culture Of Care And Daily Coaching
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so um I'll just tell you, man, I started this business because I didn't want to work for anybody. Management. I mean, I'll tell you what happened. This is when I knew I needed to leave. I'm working on a five or six million dollar home, and the power from the main service to a hundred amps of beeder wire wasn't on it, it was landed into the lugs, but it wasn't tightened down, and they had this whole house on everything. And that that guy, the person that did that, got promoted to a supervisor position, and they were still keeping me at a rate, and just I mean, I lost it. Like I lost it. I was so furious, but stuff like that just continuing to happen and seeing that lack of management and actually putting people where they need to be, properly placing people. It you know, I couldn't handle it, and so I knew I needed to go on my own and just do my own thing. So 2020, I get licensed right before COVID. Didn't know COVID was a thing. I go on my cruise to Mexico on a cruise with my family. We do we had already had this whole family cruise. This was March. We come back, the whole world changed. We were one of the last boats out there. So I come home with a license in my hand and no idea if the world is gonna end because of lockdowns and this and that, and price is skyrocketing. And oh my god, what do I do? So I took on my first big job, a 5,000 square feet commercial. And dude, I lost so much money on that job. Like I was ready to just go back to work for somebody else, but not really though, because I just kept grinding for a couple years, and I was on track in 2021 to for 2022 to do already a quarter of a million in down in Phoenix. And this was all specked out and lined out, ready to go. Well, I had lost my my grandma and my my dad within three weeks of each other. They died after moving up here to where I live, this little small town of Heber Overgaard. And dude, I was just making mistake after mistake, charging, I think, I think I was charging like 80 or 100 bucks an hour when I started in 20, and prices were crazy. And I remember this guy, I charge a hundred dollars an hour and I do fine all over the country. I'm like, well, if he can do it, I can do it. And and I shut everything down and moved up here to take care of my family, my mom and my my grandpa. Well, I met my now wife, and my grandma and my grandpa left. So I'm here in this small town of like 1300 people, but I'm already building a name, just not able to do everything. Like I could I would get so busy. I was struggling trying to figure out how to every house up here, man, is a lot. There's a lot that these houses that's involved, and I would just give a quote, line item it out, send it, and be on my way. Cause I really didn't want to have a business. Like my goals weren't have this successful, you know, huge business. My dreams weren't that big for the business. I did it to get by. I'm like, ah, something else will come, but I've been doing this for so long, this is all I know to do. And I was losing a lot of money. Just every corner. It was, it felt like I was losing. And I know I was because I know the situation I'm in currently. So I found you in like I started following you guys a bit in 2024, and then I just was like, uh, there's no way I could ever do that here in my small little town of 1300 people. Like, that's way beyond I could never do that. And then I started reading success stories. And I'll just tell you, man, I was reading them and started following again, and then I was in an attic uh on a job here. I knew things needed to change, right? Before this, like everything has to change, and I know that change can come overnight. Like, I have faith that our lives can be changed overnight. I would tell my wife this, and I was in an attic and I tore my knee, and I'm like, oh god, okay. All right, it's time to step off the tools. I hear you loud and clear. I need to build the business or shut it down. Like I'm done, or I gotta do something different. I have to make a change. And I looked up million-dollar electrician, came back and dude, you guys had recently opened the open circuit, and oh man, I was so stoked. Like, I was like, oh, overnight change. All right, here we go, and I'm on it. And I just spent every day digging and learning and listening, and man, there's so much more to learn still. Yeah, like the I'm drinking out of a fire hose right now, just trying to contain. And um, I'm so grateful for it because before all of this, I was ready to quit. I was done, man. Like this small town wasn't cutting it. This is the I'm living in my dream. I I will never move from here. Like, this is it. This is my dream place. We have lakes, we have trees, we have everything around us that I need to survive and live. And I just want to help and serve others here that need, and it's working out. It's a lot of uh second homeowners. The system is proven with me that it can work. I'm not there where just wait till next year we do this podcast, come back around, you'll see. Man, it works, it works. I know it works. I can already see my vision has been taken from this statewide. Like now I can see that big and see it happening and see the roadmap to getting there and how that it's excellent, man. It's been a great journey.
SPEAKER_01And I'm so grateful for the so proud. We definitely believe, man. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I think you had a win of the week, and we even hit a whiteboard and did a big strategy session. And one of the first questions Emilio said, and I always ask, like, hey, before we go down a rabbit hole, because I'm guilty, I can do that. It's like, what's important for you to get out of this meeting? And I think the first thing you said was, I need the exact roadmap to reach a million-dollar business. That's what I'm interested in. And so we wrote the million on the board and we just started breaking it down for you in every way that we we felt or uh we felt, you and I together, you needed to see. Does that seem clear to you then? When you say statewide, is that kind of what you're referring to? Like there's no more limits in your mind on what this could be.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, I could take it to the world. I uh, you know, there are no limits, and I don't I I believe in, you know, something greater than myself that this is his business, man. It's not mine. I'm just the manager. So that's how I operate and live. You know, if anybody wants to come and work for a company like that, then let me know. But I mean, this is his business, dude, and I just have to take it and run with it as far as as he's willing to let it go. And that, who knows, the world. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02I love that steward mindset where it's like, you know, it's not mine. I'm just responsible to make sure it goes in the right direction. Or I'm just the person who has to operate as a steward and it's just going down. The right river.
Two-Call Close And Serving First
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yep. Reminds me of uh I've got a bunch of quote cards from earlier years that I would have all these desktop changes on my computer that would be inspiring to me. And I would work with that going on. I'd be on projects thinking about my bigger self and stuff like this, even though I hadn't fully imagined it yet. And one of them was a Jim Carrey quote, actually. You guys both just reminded me of. And it's Jim Carrey at the ocean, and he's saying, Hope is a beggar, but faith walks through fire because it knows what's on the other side. Amen. I love that. And that's what I'm hearing from you, Emilio. You've got your faith, you know what you can do, you've got a system, you've got the vision. So the rest is just meant to be, and there doesn't sound like anything's gonna get in your way or stop that.
SPEAKER_03No, the only thing that could get in my way is myself.
SPEAKER_01Well, bottleneck's always at the top of the bottle. You know, good observation anyway.
SPEAKER_02All I was just gonna say is, Emilio, you know, speaking to your faith, I think it's amazing because you seem like you're operating with the mindset that I agree with, which is, and that which is meant to miss you will never hit you. You're like, I'm just putting my faith into it. I'm gonna do what the best I can with it, and it's gonna turn out as it turns out. But you put one foot forward every single day with a smile. I think it's really commendable. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I agree.
Objections Solved By Process
SPEAKER_01Hey, you guys, if this episode sparked something for you, imagine stacking that every single week. That's how businesses stop flickering and start running steady. If you subscribe to the show or leave a review if you're on audio, and if you're driving down the road, please pull over when it's safe because I've got something you're not gonna want to skip. For every person that subscribes and or leaves a review and fills out the form below, letting us know that you did that thing. We're gonna draw one monthly subscriber for our open circuit lifetime membership worth$1,500. And that's not all. Every six months, we're actually gonna draw another subscriber for our$5,000 scholarship, which you can use for any of our electric service packages to get your business and your service rocking better than ever. Come on, guys, let's brighten this thing up. Is it gonna be you? Back to the show. I want to ask you something self-serving if I can. I haven't actually done this before, but I just see an opportunity based on what you said. Can I ask about your experience going into that open circuit? And I wouldn't do this if I also didn't think it could support other people, because even last night we were in the Wednesday night call, Scott Parker's call, and we had a couple new people in the open circuit. And I love how our culture is starting to breed other people coaching and helping success in there. And you were one of the people that made sure to speak to the two new guys on the block. And I think we even had one fella, a Joshua from Australia, who is new too, and you were kind of coaching them and sharing some of your experience. So if it helps there, I'm sure it helps on the podcast too. Maybe, you know, there's another Emilio out there who's on the fence about even the open circuit. Could you just like walk me through a little more details or us through a little more details on what was that experience like for you? Maybe we have some improvements to make from this uh reflection as well.
SPEAKER_03So it was December 26th, day after Christmas. And that was the date, Joe. That's intense. Yeah, uh, it's I don't know why I uh my brain does that.
SPEAKER_01Day after Christmas, man. You got it unlocked. Go ahead.
GPS Mindset And Personal Growth
Tactical Advice For Electricians
SPEAKER_03Well, it's the day that changed my life, man. I mean, I feel like uh one of the days, the uh day I was baptized, obviously, was the first day, but this day changed my life because I knew I was gonna start spending money even though it was winter, and we were dead. We were just slow. I seen that you guys had this app and I was stoked. I downloaded it right away. Actually, I was messing with it on the on the computer first, and I started seeing these trainings, and I'm like, you're only you're only charging that much for for this. That's what I remember thinking, like, oh my gosh, finally, oh thank God I found something that is gonna do it. Like, cause I have faith in the system no matter what. It's that the faith is in the the serving aspect. Like you guys are servants' heart, like your heart passion in every single class, day in and day out, is serving us, and we are extremely and utterly grateful for it. So that heart is what drew me to say, let's to jump all in right in that moment. I'm like, all right, I can do this, I know I can do this, and I think it was it took three weeks. The open circuit, the jump from open circuit to the inner loop was only three weeks because in three weeks that's the success, like closing bronze packages, like building options on site, like you know what I mean, just seeing the system work over and over within three weeks. I said, Yeah, I'm jumping all in. But that process to get to get there. Go ahead. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01No, I was just gonna clear this up. So the first week was a seven-day trial, right? So you were already getting stuff for free. Did you get the trial?
SPEAKER_03I think I did. I was ready to pay for it, and I was like, oh, it's a trial. So I just I did put my card in and everything ready to just keep paying for it. And I thought it was gonna be like, okay, I'll try this out until summer and things get busy, and you know, at least I can start in the classes. And I was so hooked on the classes right away that I couldn't stop. Like every moment I had I was listening to the classes because they're so what I love is the classes give the ability to do the playback speed. I have to speed you guys up. That's actually hard because I'm so used to hearing you guys talking at 1.25 or 1.5.
SPEAKER_02So it'd be like me with three cups of coffee in my system. I can get there. Don't worry, I can get there.
SPEAKER_01It's not quite chipmunk, Joe. It's not quite chipmunk, don't worry.
Closing Thoughts And Sign-Off
SPEAKER_03Um no, but yeah, I just was digging in and digging in, and and um, I'm like, there's a lot here, but I need more. Like, I need to talk to you guys, and I didn't realize it was as like going into the interloop part was as personable, man. I mean, I feel like a family. That's why I was telling Joshua and and Russ last night. Like, this is a family, you're in the right spot. If you want a family, if you want to serve your customers, and and they're not even customers anymore, they're clients. They're they're my family. And you know, I would do anything for them. So serve them at whatever level they need to be served at and want, you know what I mean? And I I've learned the other thing that I've learned just I think I was just in the interloop phase, but man, um me personally, I wasn't running this body as a machine and and Joe, just that one class. I remember that class. You gotta run that body like a machine. It's not your body, it's a machine. You know how to maintain a machine, and that's just just from the open circuit, getting that kind of feedback from from somebody who's been around the block is is extremely helpful, you know. And I I know both of you have been around the block, and I'm just ecstatic to be here. I know that God has led me to y'all.
SPEAKER_02It's really an honor. I appreciate that. Really is really and can I speak to a particular win about like because I remember that class, and I think there's something that happened there that you spoke to that I think a lot of people could benefit from. And I remember you were telling me, like, yeah, it's not hard to do an 80-hour week. And I remember looking at you like, like, like what? You're like, oh yeah, like I just can grind and no problem and do whatever I need. And the concept was you could actually do better by doing less. And if there's an electrician out there, because I know you did the same thing, there's electricians out there that are like, I need eight calls a day because I can't make money because it's a 200, 300, 400 ticket, and I need to get this much by the end of the day. But if you sat there and you said, instead, why don't I make sure if I drive my car 140 miles down the highway and never stop, never get an oil change, it blows up like your knee did. Like it blows up, and then you're down for the count without less. But instead, if you said, if I treat and slow it down, I treat each customer in a better way with more time and more care, the ticket goes up. But at the same time, your ability of having mental equity and emotional equity and spiritual equity goes up too, which means you can serve at a higher level, which means you can also get more rest. And it's like this constant feedback loop.
SPEAKER_03Dude, I've been tracking my sleep, right? Because, man, I've been getting such good sleep now. Like you have no idea, dude. Less is more, brother, and everybody out there, less is absolutely more, man. Like you're able to give more of yourself and a better quality level when you're when you're not taking those eight calls a day like that, you know? Yeah, and and that's what I love that y'all have really opened up that membership to to show me how I can even serve at a higher level for better quality customers for clients. You know, and it's it's extremely valuable for sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's been uh it's been a growth mission on our part too. So thank you for all the uh gratitude and the shares and appreciate the feedback. That helps a lot. That open circuit program, I mean, in many ways, it's what we started with. It's what people used to be, you know, inner loop level. I know that hurts to hear. If you're one of our longtime old friends, you know, we give that to you with lifetime access now if you've been a member before, because we know that, because uh that's that's how it all began. It wasn't even in videos, Emilio back then. It was like PDF. You know, Joe and I decided we're gonna get together, we're gonna make this happen. Let's go test it and see if it helps some people. And so he just was like type warrior. This is before AI COVID times, like you're talking about. Typed it up. We PDF'd it, we put it out there, we trained people in live Zooms and just made it work. And we saw the proof and thought, okay, we got to keep doubling down on this. We have to just keep investing what we know in our hearts and our minds and what we've learned even along the way from people like you, Emilio. The other people on this podcast, I feel so grateful that I I get to be like the Napoleon Hill of electric service. You know who Napoleon Hill was? The the movie Napoleon Hill?
SPEAKER_02Thinking Growing Rich. Yes. That guy, got it. No, or you're right. I was thinking someone else.
SPEAKER_01Not Napoleon Dynamite, if that's what you're thinking about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, my brain was like, I was like, wait a second, I gotta figure out where this is going.
SPEAKER_01Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich. What he did is interview the most successful people on the planet, and then basically boiled it all down into a series of books, and he himself became so much more successful through just that what's the word I'm looking for, just the thank you, and the exposure to it consistently. So I I've dedicated my life to personal growth and development, but also helping people avoid the pits that I fell into. I know Joe, that's a big part of your story too. It's why I feel like you know it's been a match made in heaven for us too. We can't explain it. I mean, right down to we never talk about this. I think we've had like one conversation about it personally. Most people don't know this, Emilio. So you got me extra sharing today. But my best friend who passed away over a decade ago, his name was Joey, and he looks Joseph and him look alike. It's crazy, man. And I showed Joseph this moment of like a heartfelt we came together and we're well on our mission, and I I was emotional one day about it, and I just showed him, and Joe was immediately like, he looks like me.
SPEAKER_02I remember sitting in your office and looking at this guy, and I think the words I said was, Well, you know, maybe it didn't work out for him, but I'm still your Joe. I'm still here for you, man. Because like I look at you as a brother, like Clay's just you're an amazing human being. I'm grateful to have known you're a phenomenal leader, but like I get to work my best friend every day. So like it's a labor of love getting to help electricians, but also when you love who you're working with, it just makes every day even that much better.
SPEAKER_03Likewise, man. You two the two witnesses, man. It's you're definitely on a divine mission, you know. I I I could go story after story just in the last of like, man, I I'm grateful for it. And anybody out there in question, you know, just do do your research because you can't find anything that's wrong. Like, there's nothing that you guys are teaching that is leading anybody on a bad course. We're all doing really good because I mean, you guys just love us and serve us at such a high level and standard that I think it's that none. And that's because you you have that divine mission that you're open to allowing that purpose to control the way that the business flows instead of your own personal interests overruling, you know what I mean? You see the need and you go attack the need instead of you know what is your own need, you've already attacked a lot of those. You know, you've done you have the success that you you've done these million dollar businesses and multi-million dollar businesses and and done this work that for you to pass it along, man, you deserve to to to to build something big and divine because you've been through the gutter already, man.
SPEAKER_01I appreciate that. You know what? And it's not for everyone. Uh I'll be honest. That's one of the biggest reasons we did the open circuit in that way with the seven-day trial is because if you'll just sign up and go to the class like we were last night, or tonight's with Billy Harper tends to be a more uh they're empowered, so they're a little more on the personal side, but keeping guys afloat, keeping you faithful, keeping you up and looking forward instead of looking backwards and trying to figure out why you keep tripping. Let's just take steps and leaps and bounds in that direction. But if you attend those calls, that's what I realized last night, Amelia, was to thank you again when I attended, is like our culture is truly there now. It's there. It took a while to get there. It's been weeks since I attended that one for this reason, but I saw it. And if you attend that, guys, and you don't like it, that's okay too. That's why there's a seven-day free trial. Because if it's not a fit, we don't want you there either. If it's not life-changing, as we've said so many times, we don't want it. We want people who want this. And so if you come in, you test it, you don't like it, hey, you know, we could part as friends. There's no harm, no fellow there. And I know from experience, as do you guys too, I know this. There's a lot of different electricians out there, and not everyone's got their heart on their sleeve like we do.
SPEAKER_03I got one thing real quick. I talked to Austin one year to the date from the day. Yeah, so 2024, January 3rd, uh, because it's my wife's birthday. We talked to Austin, and you guys literally were like, okay, cool. Let we can part as friends for right now. And then Clay, I think there's a couple times over that year that you just reached out randomly, hey, how's it going? I'm like, who is what is this? I think that was another couple things that like definitely drew me back. It was, hey, all is good. It's not for everybody right at the moment, and that willingness to part as friends and literally meaning that, like, hey, no hard feelings. It's not for everybody at the moment. And the seven-day free trial after day two, I didn't need a free trial, man. It took it took me two days, and then I was able to do the classes and stuff, but yeah, because I was working on something, but yeah, it was literally the first day, didn't need a free trial anymore. I'm hooked.
SPEAKER_01It's just doing what we teach. It's the same with the two call clothes, right? Right, Joe? Like, why would you come back again? Why would you want to be here again with me?
SPEAKER_02That's if I could touch on that, it's great because there are some people out there who are like, well, I'm not wasting my time going back to the customer. I'm gonna email it over. But like, imagine this. You're able to prove to the homeowner and say, not only can I take the time to really design something that's in your best interest, I can take the time to sharpen my pencil. But you know what? I know that I've been in your house for an hour so far, and it's the end of the day, and you got to take care of the kids. Why don't I come back at a time when you're more convenient, when all three of us can sit down and review it? Heck, I'd even bring over pizza if you want. We'll sit down, just relax together, break some bread. And worst comes to worst, we just have a meal together. Best comes to best, we are able to work together. So how would you like to proceed?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And I've always loved, and and keep in mind, Joe and I never worked together before this. So it was one of the things that was like connected dots for me too when we formed the partnership. I needed to see that in you. Um, but I love that idea of like, even you you said this from day one, like, I'll even if you don't like what I have, I'll throw my presentation in the garbage and help you pick someone who is a best fit for you. And what the puzzled look on people's faces when you have that level of conviction to serve them is like it's unfamiliar, it's unheard of. You don't find that in today's age, right? And it's like, well, why? Well, because if there's any mistakes or anything you're uncomfortable with, I still want you to feel comfortable calling me because I'm your friend here and I'll come back and I still want to serve you. Yeah, I love that disposition.
SPEAKER_03I love that about it too, Joe. Not only that, but the objection handling as a whole. There's many ways to handle objections I've learned over the years. You can handle many, many, many ways, but the system and design that you guys build and live by is a always uh no matter what, we'll be friends after this, I promise. Kind of attitude. Like, well, all is good. And uh it's great. I love that too. It's not a well ultimatum them or anything like that, in a sense. You teach us how to give objections by serving in the proper and best manner possible, which is which is great.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. I really appreciate that, man. The way I saw it was if you can answer the objection during the process by serving the homeowner, the objection doesn't come up at the end. And if it does, you've already talked about it. So you're like, we can just discuss this peacefully, friendly, like that's no issue because we've already talked about it. So if something's changed from now to then, let me know and we'll figure out how to fix it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can tell you there's there's two culture tests too. Since we're speaking to this overall, if you're someone that's been on the fence with us or another program, or maybe you've been with others and not us yet, or some question marks around us and you're not sure. I had a meeting with someone who did a year and a half with us just yesterday. I'm not going to name names just because we just had this conversation. He still listens, he'll be smirking when he hears this. Um, but he's been to almost all the coaching companies under the sun, a little before and a little after us, uh in different cases. But the feedback I received from him yesterday, I loved. And he said, you know what's different about you guys? I'm always asking because I want to know. I want to know how we can improve, right? We improve too. And he said, You your culture is care. And while everyone tries to have that, it's not always the same in how it presents. So, for example, he said, Do you guys still do five classes a week? And I said, No, we do more than that, but it's still five days a week. And he said, That was by far my favorite thing because I knew no matter the problem I have, I've got a place I can go, someone I can talk to about it, and others in the room who have those experiences too. It's not always a packed house, but there's always a place. And in other places, he hadn't experienced that. In fact, the experience is usually more like here's a add to the cart, you got to pay for that, do an extra thing, or you know, wait for a next one-to-one meeting, which the one-to-ones are great, but they're always going to be limited because there's only so much Joe time, there's only so much me time, there's only so much Emilio time, there's only so much of your time if you're listening to this. And that was a big point in this podcast, guys. So round out this point and bring it back. Emilio, I want to thank you for inspiring this conversation and helping us learn too, brother, because that's what really drives the growth. It's not just what we know, it's what we're learning from you guys too, the ones who go out and do this. Or as Joe always says, we're just the GPS, right, brother?
SPEAKER_02Amen to that. You know, the concept is you know what? You can do anything you want. You're the one driving the car. You can get where you need to get. And you can decide to turn left when we say turn right. And that's okay because you're still driving it. But at the end of the day, we at least want to say, did we give you the right directions? And if we can say yes, then whether you take it or not, I can put my head on my pillow and say, I did the best I could. And it's up to them to decide what they want to do from there.
SPEAKER_01Thousand percent. Emilio, if you're talking to your younger self literally, and don't include our name in this, just like you got to give tactical advice to another electrician, how to just make the next steps. What are like your top few things that you'd want to share right away to help another electrician advance?
SPEAKER_03Find a process that works, that's beneficial. I always live by perfect practice makes perfect, you know, because anybody can practice thing, and practice doesn't make perfect if you do it wrong, but perfect practice makes perfect every time. And I would say, man, stop sweating all the small stuff, let it roll off your back and and just. keep moving forward in life, you know. The more hesitation that you allow for, you know, the worse off you'll be. If if you know your trade, be confident in what you know. It c it'll come, it comes natural. And if you don't know the trade, learn it. Learn it until it becomes natural. I mean, yeah. And then learn the process along the way, no matter how long it takes or how hard or how much pain or if you don't think it's working, learn it and then it becomes natural. I love it. Solid advice.
SPEAKER_01Yep, really good. And that's us signing off. Joe, any any last minute uh words for our viewers or listeners today?
SPEAKER_02Honestly, just wish you all peace, mercy, and blessings. I mean it's a great day to have a great day on it. And Emilio, you're an inspiration. Like I love how our spiritual energy feeds each other. You know what I mean? So thank you for bringing thank you for dealing out the bread today.
SPEAKER_01I'm going to borrow some Emilio language for a sign off today then and say keep your lights bright and your terminations tight. We'll see you guys next week.
SPEAKER_02Be well
