Gooooooood mooooorrrrrnnniiinnngggg lovely listeners!
Thank you for joining us on this chilly old Thursday - welcome back to another episode.
What is the good girl syndrome?
‘Be quiet, sit still, don’t take up space and look pretty’ – the good girl narrative often makes women feel guilty for being human.
In this episode we explore how:
• getting approval from other people follows girls from childhood to adulthood
• the good girl syndrome teaches girls/ women from a young age to sacrifice their own wants for others
• embodying the “good girl” complex disconnects girls/women from their authenticity and safety to express themselves
• the good girl syndrome leads to feeling frustrated and resentful
• how women/ girls often feel the weight of responsibility for others
We hope you enjoy!
