Show Notes

Could Have Happened at Parkrun is a book of short stories written during Covid lockdown when parkruns... like many other activities… were cancelled. The uniting theme in all 12 stories is that they all play out at the Wycombe Rye parkrun in the UK. Each story is around a realistic scenario but is not a true story, and they come with some fun titles. Before each story there is a description of the origin of the story that sets the stage before you get into the story itself.

The stories are:
Run directors discuss the day's events
The volunteer coordinator
Darren and his short lead
The big thing in the city
Mr. Shouty Man saves the day
Edward Ready - Steady Eddy
Martin the funnel manager
The visitor from New Zealand
Bobble and Trevor make friends
Christopher, the competitive man in the queue
Petra and Johnathan manage the split
A parkrun tourist comes to Wycombe Rye

Simon Jones retired from 3M and the corporate world in June 2019. Along with being a first time author, he now works part-time for a local charity. He has been running the Wycombe Park parkrun and chasing PB’s since 2013, and has accumulated over 240 parkruns and over 40 volunteer days.
