Merry Christmas - What Christmas Is Pointing To
What if Christmas is less about a date on the calendar and more about a birth that can happen within you right now?
In this Christmas reflection, we explore Christ Consciousness as a lived experience - not a religious performance, but a way of being rooted in presence, compassion, unity, and love. This episode invites a gentle return to what is already whole within you, especially in a season that can feel both meaningful and complex.
We connect this message to a wider chorus of wisdom across spiritual traditions - from Buddha Nature in Buddhism, Krishna Consciousness in Hinduism, and remembrance and surrender in Islam, to devekut in Judaism, flow in Taoism, and earth-based traditions of kinship with life. Different languages, same center: nothing sacred is missing from you.
We also unpack the often-misread teaching, “the kingdom of heaven is within you,” and bring it into everyday life - how you speak to yourself, how you breathe through tension, and how you choose gentleness when old patterns pull toward self-judgment.
Whether this season feels joyful, quiet, heavy, or complicated, you’re not alone. This episode offers simple, grounded reflections for embodying love over fear, unity over separation, and compassion over judgment, especially toward yourself.
This is not a sermon.
It’s a reminder.
A reminder of how Jesus lived - refusing exclusion, meeting others with love, and seeing worth in all.
And an invitation to let presence do the heavy lifting, turning rituals into remembrance and longing into belonging.
If this reflection resonates, follow the podcast, share it with someone who may need a gentle word today, and leave a review to help others find their way home.

Merry Christmas. Today I want to share something gently, openly and honestly, because Christmas isn't just about celebrating Jesus Christ. It's also about celebrating the birth and the remembrance of a consciousness. What many traditions call Christ consciousness. When I say Christ consciousness, I'm actually speaking about a state of being. That's why it's so important to celebrate. It's a state of unity, of love, of compassion, of understanding, of non-judgment. And especially in times where we might be feeling separated or judged. We need to remember this is the time to really embody this Christ consciousness because it is an awareness that we are not separate from one another, and that love is not something we earn or we have to confine ourselves to earn it, but something we remember that is divinely yours. Jesus embodied this so completely that an entire faith formed around the way he lived, not just what he taught, but how he was. He didn't judge, he didn't exclude, he didn't divide people into worthy or unworthy. And what's beautiful is that this same truth appears across so many traditional spiritual traditions. For instance, Buddhism calls it Buddha nature. Hinduism calls it Krishna consciousness, unity with the divine love through devotion and awakened awareness. Islam complete surrender and union with God through love and remembrance. In Judaism Devakunt living in continuous communion with God through righteousness and compassion. Taoism, unity with the natural flow of life, embodiment rather than striving. In other earth based traditions, living in harmony with all life, ancestors, nature, spirit. Sikhism, this mirrors Christ consciousness as unity with source and not separation. It's the different words, but it's the same truth. Because truth doesn't belong to one type of group of people. Truth belongs to consciousness itself. And one of the most misunderstood teachings attributed to Jesus is that the kingdom of heaven is within you. This isn't poetic or like nice words to try and make you feel better about yourself. It's practical. It means that nothing is missing within you. Nothing needs for you to be earned. Nothing sacred is outside of you. It means the love that you're searching for, the peace that you're longing for, the belonging you crave, the Christ consciousness is all within you. And it's always been closer than what you've been taught to believe. And Christmas reminds us of this because this celebration is for you. It's what we've been waiting for. And it's not coming outside. It's something we remember about ourselves within ourselves. So Christmas is not just about a birth that's happened once, it's a birth that can happen now for you within you. The birth of compassion. In moments we feel judgment where judgment used to live, or the birth of unity where separation once ruled, the birth of love where fear was loud. This is why Christmas feels so emotional for so many of us, because it touches something ancient within us. And as we go around doing all the things that are commercial, all we're really longing for is to come home, a longing to belong, a longing to remember who we truly are. So today I'm not inviting you to believe in anything, I'm inviting you to embody the greatest gift that you can, where you can soften today, where you can release judgment, especially toward yourself, and choose love, even quietly within yourself for yourself. Because Christ consciousness isn't about perfection, it's not that you have to be a certain way to be loved. It's about presence, it's about meeting yourself and others with compassion, with love, with acceptance. That's what we're celebrating today. We're celebrating you. Not someone outside of you, but a consciousness that lives within you. However, Christmas might be feeling for you today, maybe it's joyful, maybe for you today is really heavy and complicated and lonely and quiet. But know something, you are not separate from love, you're not lacking light, and nothing sacred is missing from you. You are complete. I'm sending you so much love today. Know that we're all one today, we're all together and we all belong. Sending you so much love. Merry Christmas.
