India: the Artificial Intelligence Revolution and its Intellectual Property Implications (with Hemant Singh, Managing Partner Inttl Advocare, India, repost of May 2019)
India is one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the world, that developed recently an ambitious national strategy to transform India, including actions related to Artificial Intelligence, to tackle challenges such as quality of education, demographic issues with smart cities and access to health care. In this context, the government is considering reforming the IP legal system to make it more innovation-friendly. Hemant Singh, managing partner of the IP law firm Inttl Advocare for more than 20 years, based in Mumbai and Delhi, advises its clients in all IP areas. In this episode, he guides us through the complex Indian legal and policy frameworks and explains what is happening now regarding AI and IP, and what to expect in the near future.
