Stephen McLain:

Hi, this is Stephen McLain of the Finance Leader Podcast. This is Bonus Episode number 72. Welcome again to another bonus episode. During this holiday break. I want to share just a short message for all of you. I am proud of what you are doing, what you have accomplished this year and what I know you will accomplish in the upcoming year. I know this audience is trying to go beyond being the technical skills expert so you can become an amazing leader who can lead in a crisis, who can be the beacon of hope during tough times, who can help others to rise and become better, and who can grow into an incredible leader of integrity who will be sought out after by others. I believe in all of you because I know who you are. You are the go-getters, the ones who care about going beyond the numbers. You are the leaders who make a positive difference every day.

Stephen McLain:

This time of year is a favorite of mine. It's a time to remember, to reflect on and to celebrate what is really important. This life is not just about our careers and goal accomplishment, but also who goes along with us in this life journey. So I am asking you to think about the following. Number 1. December has universal celebration. This time of year belongs to everyone, not to any one group. There are many celebrations from around the world, which includes Christmas, hanukkah, rojatsu, st Nicholas Day, and in Mexico they celebrate Feast Day of Our Lady, guadalupe. Many celebrate the Winter Solstice and others celebrate the Festival of Yule. In a few months, ramadan will also be celebrated. I spent several years in the Middle East, in Africa, and I know and respect how important Ramadan is, so I wanted to mention this also.

Stephen McLain:

Number 2. Reflect on what you accomplished this year and celebrate this year. You accomplished a lot, so celebrate that. Celebrate yourself. Before we all move into the new year, before we set new goals, celebrate and reflect on this year's goals and your accomplishments. Number 3. Enjoy your family time and what may be important to you beyond your career. Every December is like any other month to you, and that is okay also, but I want to encourage you to remind yourself why you work so hard and to enjoy that aspect of yourself. So please enjoy some time off if you can, have a great rest of your week. Thank you for listening to the Finance Leader Podcast. Take care, be safe and enjoy this time of year. Thank you.
