Welcome to this meditation practice of honouring your emotions. Find a comfortable position. It could be lying down, all seated and even standing, but as you learn, it can be easier to do this in the most comfortable way possible for your body. Ensure that you have always learnt how to connect to your safe space so that when you practice honouring your emotions, you can bring yourself to a place of feeling safe. As we move into this practice, we will be using the experience of cultivating an opposite sensory experience In order to become aware of our choice of emotion and how we can therefore hold the current and present emotion with full honour and acceptance as a witness. Now that you are settled, you may close your eyes or find a point on which to softly rest your gaze. Using a softness and sense of relaxation in the body eases the focus and brings more witness quality to the awareness.
Speaker 1Take a scan of the body. Ask what emotion is currently moving in the body. Observe the sensations of this emotion. Where do you feel these sensations most? How do they feel? Do they move?
Speaker 1Now ask yourself to create the opposite emotion in the body, moving your body internally to shift the feelings of this opposite emotion and now return to that initial emotion in your scan, recreate the opposite emotion and feeling in the body. Move between these two states at your will and choice. Is it possible to hold both of these states of emotion at the same time, simultaneously feeling and experiencing opposite emotions within your body as one whole experience? And now return to a simple scan of the body. What do you currently feel? Honoring what is present, honoring all the sensations and where they are. Notice the mind's thoughts or words and allow these words to float on the past. Take a moment to give thanks for being present with your feelings, for exercising your free will and choice To feel the contrast and to play in your wholeness and to honour the present moment, yourself included as perfect in this current state, in the truth of who you are right now, how you may have a most wonderful day.
